Kanye opens up about living the good life in his blog:
I don’t do anything I don’t love anymore… I loved the flashing lights vid so it didn’t matter 2 me if someone one else didn’t. While people chase money I pursue happiness. So many people talk about there investments or how much money they have but there’s so many rich people who spend a lot of that trying 2 buy a piece of happiness. If there’s anything my mom taught me is to enjoy life.
I just recorded my first verse in the last 6 months 2 days ago at Bape’s Studio in Japan. It felt good and I was inspired. I absolutely lost my mind (in a good way) on the new Glow in the Dark tour. The constant hours of creating helped me 2 keep from loosing my mind in a bad way. Chris Milk told me tragedy can produce great art and this is definitely true. I am a total mad man now, up till 3 am every night, trying 2 fight pain, board-um, and uncertainty with creativity. All that said, life is good….. good as finding the perfect fabric for a simple one button casual blazer with matching pants.
Thanks for those gems Kanye. It’s becoming more and more difficult to find sane hip-hop artists these days.

Well said Kanye. I know it’s hard to believe but materialism cannot buy you happiness. It’s like…once you purchase all this fly stuff…then what? If you let the things define you then you only end up feeling empty inside.

You are absolutely correct !! I`m speaking from my perspective and what I see as a black man . Im all up in that reality and the intesisity of my feelings because I see what a black mother really means to my life and others in the black community.
But in no way am i lessening what the impact of losing a latina , or chinese, or whatever she may be would be for other races. I`m sure it would be devastating.

@Crazy, I agree wholeheartedly about Black mothers, I’m 40 yrs. old and my mother will always mean the world to me. The love and devotion from a good mother is one of God’s greatest gifts. I am a mother and love my 2 children (13 & 15) so much and everyway that I can I attempt to teach them about the world and how to be true to themselves, but to always put God first. From the time they began to speak, a day has never gone by that they haven’t told me they love me and in the womb I told them. There’s nothing like being a mother and seeing your children mature into intelligent, kind & comical peoople. Children will amaze us and say or do something that shows that they were listening to what we’ve been saying all long. It’s a beautiful thing. I’m sure Kayne’s mother is still so proud of him. His intelligence and positive sense of self comes from his mother.
