Tyler Perry’s new film “I Can Do Bad All By Myself” grossed $24 million this weekend at the box office beating out Sorority Row.

The film which debuted at number one this weekend made $24 million at the box office.  The film which stars Taraji P. Henson, Mary J. Blige, and Gladys Knight had the widest release of any Perry directed feature.  Tyler smashed out the other films by a longshot beating out the second runner up Sorority Row by more than $10 million.  Way to go Tyler but half of us still can’t wait to see Why Did I Get Married 2 which is set to have an April release date.

    I haven’t (and won’t) see it but let me guess the plot: Tyler Perry formula

    Evil light woman
    evil dark black man
    noble put upon dark black woman
    noble heroic light man

    And now they have taken a classic like For Colored Girls and give it to this hack. Hey how about a colored girl director? Gina Prince Blyhtewood would be great. Or Julie Dash. They have talent. Tyler may think he a woman but he not.

    @Man, I just don’t care:

    Not mad, baby. Just in awe of the “retarded-ness” on board.

    I’m convinced that black people are the biggest haters on earth.

    Tyler’s white audience is limited most white area theaters don’t even carry his films he’ll tell you that. His screen number is low but volume high. Beyond that quality makes it’s own audience. Tyler is Amos and Andy and we need to move on. White people loved some Amos and Andy too. I will not give him a pass because he’s black.

    and just so you know Tyler didn’t direct Precious….he basically got it distribution. Lee Daniels directed the film.

  • http://bossip Pimp 4 a day

    It’s amazing how his fellow members of his race (black people) are tearing him apart and calling him names. What about the fact that he keeps giving black actors jobs? Your fellow black person will be the first to wish you failure. black people hate each other more than white people hate black people. That’s the truth.

  • I HATE THE "N" WORD

    Just proves we are so starved for anything with us in it we will put our money out there for b.s. Sorry I support black people but damn Tyler I need a plot and full story not some through Jesus on everything and call it a wrap!
