Armed agents raided three NYC homes looking for bomb making materials after a suspected terrorist visited the homes yesterday. The suspect is said to be an associate of Al-Queda.
Akhari Amanullah, a Queens born man, left a Queens home after allegedly visiting it for materials to make a bomb. The suspect had already been under investigation by the FBI in his hometown of Denver. Sources say that agents quickly saw a red flag after he was spotted in NYC at an unrelated Queens home.
Concerns were hiked after Akhari quickly took a trip to Flushing from Denver in a rental car during Obama’s visit to NYC. One unnamed New York man was arrested as a result of the raids and is said to be a friend of Akhari Amanullah. Akhari tells the Times Ledger that agents busted down the door to the apartment on 41st Avenue in Flushing that houses several Afghani immigrants at around 2:30 a.m. holding a gun to his face and holding him for about three to four hours.
The second home on 137th Street of a Bosnian family — including a father, mother, adult son was also raided, and the third home, on Parsons Boulevard in Flushing, was hit around 7 a.m., close to 10 unmarked cars, sedans and SUVs pulled up.
The FBI was searching specifically for bomb-making materials such as fuses, timers, explosive gels, powders and TNT and according to sources found none.
