  • HarlemWorld

She wildin’… That beach towel is not the business!

  • http://aol ebonieladi

Are you kidding me? Is this chick wearing a sheet to a major award show? What was she thinking about. The fashion police should have arrested her on the spot. What next, shower curtains, window shades, or maybe area rugs?

  • copelli21

Umm, No. She looks busted and desperate for attention.

  • lani3000

this is the most rediculous thing ive ever seen.

  • http://www.quandabomb.com QUAN DA BOMB

    THATS A BED SHEET

  • Samantha

    I Really Can’t!!!!

  • Bay.beeFace

    She looks pretty…but that’s a little much.

  • This I Know

In Africa it is actually common to see woman wearing something like this because Obama is so popular there, so maybe Victoria was trying to convey the Obama-mania worldwide. But I agree, this is certainly not appropriate dress for an award show.

  • http://twitter.com/mastermk7 MasterMK

It is too early for Halloween.

  • tb

    Looks like cheap material.

  • ANGELA

Not feeling it at all……….come one have some respect for the president.

  • Brownskin

It’s a beautiful dress back in Africa that’s what alot of woman wear,so you guys don’t know what you are talking about

  • Awesome-O-3000 (Feeling better about the ACC)

What the damn? That is sad.

  • southern african princess

Actually, back home,(Africa)the women where these type of attires that have their Presidents printed on them,so her attire isn’t all that unusual for those who are more informed.

  • Lush_Us_Lipps

    TACKY!!!!

  • lazy town

    FUGLY

  • asds

Zoe is beautiful, and she is reppin her dude, at a time when support is needed. black people, he is trying to get it in for us with the healthcare. he needs us more that ever.

  • Sharie

@asds- that’s not Zoe it’s the lady from the Young & the Restless! They do favor though- But yeah, I support Obama but she’s too beautiful to have on that ugly-azz dress!!!

  • john hope franklin

    hell naw!!!
just throw him the trim why don’t you….

  • Roe

WTF was she thinking and who let her walk the carpet with that on. Embarassing!

  • dayg715

love Obama, love Victoria, but that dress is just tacky, plain and simple.

  • dayg715

…but she is a Diva, so she gets props for having the balls to wear that dress.

  • Jazmine

It’s purpose driven and I respect that. It’s not Versace or Vera but standing behing our Pres. is important to me. If she likes the dress, I love it!

  • Tiger’s Eye

    Some people are just weird!

  • South African Sista

The material and imprints are what you will find us African women wear to traditional ceremonies and events…such as traditional weddings. This particular one she is wearing looks like a Sesotho or Sepedi regalia. I love it, maybe without Obama’s face on it.

Please educate yourselves more on African tradition and culture!

  • drenk

did anyone tell her that you shouldnt buy clothes from an info-mercial, up next the Obama snuggie!!

  • Pretty Girl

black people she is wearing ankara. a well know fabric used in african clothing. now she could’ve had it better tailored…but please check out this blog for all cool things ankara…http://makeunatellam.blogspot.com/2009/06/ankara-realized.html

    http://makeunatellam.blogspot.com/search/label/Ankara

  • http://firstladyfile.com firstladyfile

    one world for used-to-be-dru. CHANGE!

  • Pretty Girl
  • Alrighty Then… (why do all of the “men” on Bossip argue w/ females?)

@South African Sista – it’s understood that the STYLE of the dress is African. But the PRINT is horrendous, and the fabric, whether you wear it in Africa or not looks cheap.
She is American, so perhaps YOU should educate yourself on how WE dress for formal functions. If this were IN Africa, you might have a point.

  • nik

    no she didnt…r u serious?

  • Shar N

I don’t think its horrendous as many of u say. This is very common back in Africa. I give her much Kudos for going against the grains. With comments like i see on here, it’s no wonder many Black people in this country are lost. Learn to appreciate & embrace other cultures, then maybe u can start to understand your plight.

  • ARRRGGHHH f*** haters!!

    @H20 watever

I would love to talk to you about what you can learn from a supposed ‘third world country’ but my daddy always said, when you argue with a fool or a mad man, witnesses can’t tell the difference between the two.
Please read a history book or two before you make sweeping comments.

    Peace and love.

  • candylicker

I love Victoria/Drucilla, even in this terrible getup.

  • Whaaaa

Love you Victoria and all the important htings you do. This lovely dress is better suited for the 4th of July picnic. This is America, do as Americans do. Still love you though.

  • mxb

yes we can… but NO she shouldn’t .

  • Rena

    I LOVE IT

  • Asibi

A note about Victoria Rowell’s dress – the fabric for it came from Ghana (West Africa). Print fabrics are the big thing there, and Ghanaians aren’t afraid of color. The symbols at the top have meaning too. The squiggly one means “except for god” or “god is supreme” and I think the other one is the logo for the textile company. The lettering in the middle, “Akwaaba”, means “welcome” in the Twi, one of the most widespread languages in Ghana.

Obama visited Ghana this summer, which was a pretty big deal since it was his first visit to Africa as president. It’s pretty typical to have limited edition fabric prints commissioned to commemorate events such as anniversaries, funerals, or presidential visits. This was actually one of a series of fabric prints with various combos of pictures of President Obama, Michelle, President Mills (Ghana’s pres.)

  • z

That fabric with the exact print was seen on the ghana women during the obabma’s trip this summer.

  • http://bossip miss dior

    @ Asibi

Am a Ghanaian but wouldn’t wear this to the Emmys. This fabric is not suited for this occasion. What the hell was she thinking?

  • http://bossip Kimerly Laquisha

Well I can say she’s the type of person that doesnt care what you are I think. Shes that confident with herself in showing her support for our President.

  • Nova

She sewed that together before she left the house.

  • MzThickWitIt

I give her an “A” for effort but im with majority not for an awards show

  • http://BOSSIP BIG BERTHA

IT AINT ABOUT THE STYLE, CAUSE SHE CAN AFFORD ANYKIND OF DRESS SHE WANTS. SHE’S LETTING OBAMAMA KNOW AND PEOPLE KNOW SHE STILL SUPORT HIM.

  • Uncle Ray

This lady looks like she went to the fabric section of Wal-Mart and just wrapped the material around her! She looks like a Barack Obama chalupa. What an embarassment! She will probably have this turned into a sheet set with pillow cases once the Emmy’s are over! Terrible!

  • Rock Witchu

Victoria Rowell is a true Diva who wore that dress with grace, dignity, and PRIDE-things that black people in this country desperately need to learn. you all probably would have loved it if it had Gucci or Prada or even dereon plastered across the front. and at 50 YEARS OLD, Vicki made it rain on ALL those young hoes.

  • Glow

    OMG..NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • Bossip=Bad Gossip + Ignorance

I’m thinking either 1 of 3 things happened.

    1. She realllly loves Obama (ya know kind like a stalker!)

    2. She made a bet with her girlfriends on the USC/Washington game and lost.

    or

    3. She (like many others) has let the pressures of Hollywood get to her and has lost her %%#@$ mind!

    Bonus!!

    4. She could have told her stylist that she wanted an “original” gown, and this is what she got at the last minute!

  • sum0ne2l0ve

    Wow, really, for reals?

This is not Africa soooooooooooo yeah

    She should have thought twice

  • selfhelp910

    She got this from Africa.

  • courtney

victoria looks damn good to be 50 years old.thats amazing. She has some serious good genes.

  • lola

I’m Nigerian and what on earth was she thinking?

  • http://bossip Lisa

    @South African Sista

I know you think that ugly dress is ok to wear
because it reminds you of your homeland, but she’s
an American and we don’t dress like that for award ceremonies!

  • http://bossip protean

    @lisa

I know you think that ugly dress is ok to wear

    ________________________________________________
Then maybe its time to stop calling yourselves African Americans you are far from Africans
stick to being black Americans and stop the confusion

This woman should not have worn this outfit to this ocassion because it is badly cut and has Obama’s face on it which makes it inappropiate

But African attire is not to be sneered at.It is traditional attire that has been worn from time inmemorial and which we are proud of

Stick to imitating the white folks hopefully they will start treating you like human beings someday

  • Moreaces ~ Dallas Cowboys=God’s Team

I love President Obama, but that dress is not the business.

  • Moreaces ~ Dallas Cowboys=God’s Team

    Angee

I support my president, but this is too much!!

    ========
Yes it is, that dress should never be worn in public, maybe if you cut it up a bit and made it shorter, you could get by with wearing it to a (your) back yard cookout,, thats about as far as you can take that dress out of the house

  • love me or hate me.

    Wow……lmao…..i’m speachlesss.

  • Tina

    Truly gag-worthy!
Does any other nation do this in the world?
    Hell no!

  • ohPlease

Once Nobama is done with this country, this POS dress is all she will have left. How is that “hope and change doing for ya?

  • Mocha

She got it from Ghana. I have the same print, it was made especially for his visit there. Although I probably would not have worn it there who knows, maybe she was making a statement about Health Care. She is a very smart woman, every move means something!

  • ~Soldier @ War~

Thats a great look just should have gone in a different direction. Go B.O. My presidents black, my lambo blue and i’ll be got damn if my rims aint too.

  • Tammy

WELL ITS NICE TO SHOW THAT YOU ARE FOR OBAMA BUT THE OUTFIT WAS NOT FOR THE EMMY’S!!

  • just because
