N.E.R.D. is on the cover of Source magazine.

Pharrell apologized for cursing while performing last night:

“Hip-hop star Pharrell Williams was forced to apologize for his profanity-laden performance on the first night of Kanye West’s Glow In The Dark tour on Wednesday after spotting a young child in the front row. The group took to the stage with a high-energy show that featured Williams hurling out expletives during songs like “Rock Star” and “She Wants To Move.”

Williams returned to the stage while fans waited to see pop princess Rihanna to apologize for his use of profanity in front of a young child seated in the front row.”

What was a young child doing at the show? We thought it was a hip-hop concert not the damned Ice Capades. We guess he/she was there looking for those muppets. Anyways, Kudos to Pharrell for manning up. This guy has class.

Shout out to Ryan Ford

    i’ll take IInd!

It shows what kind of a man he is, that he’ll come out, perform and then return to the stage to apologize. You just dont get that in too many or ANY performers for that matter.

But, I agree, what the hell was a child doing at the concert anyways.

Mama couldnt find a babysitter? Her azz shouldnt have been there if no one could sit and watch her rugrat.

SHE should have been apologizing for bringing an adolescent to a grown up event.

    Gosh, some people.

  • Southern Belle 225

WTF was a kid doing there? SMH

Good for Pharell for apologizing but I’m sure that no kids were supposed to be there in the first place. Like when Rihanna does her risqué show, is the kid covering their eyes? This is nuts!

  • http://www.homecookinradio.com Dimple Pink

Why would a parent bring a young child to a hip ho p concert? that’s absolutely ridiculous.

  • Suga Mo

Love pharrell’s cray, creative, fly ass. He could not only get it, but take it home with him for good.

  • Suga Mo

  • Encyclopedia Brown

Good for him. Too bad young black n’ spanish children curse like sailors anyway

  • SWEET CHEEKS

I dont see why he had to apologize… The parents should of known not to take a child to a show like that…

But that was nice of him!!!

most of the people only want to argue on here

  • Lush-Us Lipps

    That was real big Pharrell

  • http://www.myspace.com/birdshu Bird

I don’t know how young the child was, but I started taking my daughter to concerts when she was 8 and of course I was very picky about who she could see. I might have thought a Kanye show would be safe.

  • http://www.myspace.com/shamecatierrajackson ms meca

i would take my child to c rihanna maybe?

    but n e rapper no

  • http://www.myspace.com/birdshu Bird

What’s sad is there are not concerts for black children. When my daughter was younger she had Bow Wow and B2K. She is now a pop/rock fan which makes it a little easier, but black kids can’t even go see Soulja Boy and they shouldn’t be listening to his music either and he’s a child.

  • da darkness

apologize for the music after every song then, i blame the parents. this is art you don’t paint then say sorry. eff that. somebody needs to be responsible for being a parent.

  • da darkness

eff rhi. MIA all day. No ummm cheri dennis.

  • NotoriousOne

As a volunteer for Make-A-Wish Foundation I can vouch for some of our wish kids wanting to meet these celebrities. Part of the wish usually involves taking them to meet the artist(s) backstage and having them view their show.

Two years ago MAW had 3 kids that wanted to meet Lloyd Banks and we wound up taking the kids to Nassau Coliseum in Long Island. Thankfully the artists were all running late and we wound up leaving before they performed. Just an FYI.

  • ms.b

ms meca, can you please give me the link to the guy that was posted yesterday

somebody tell me how i can see the uncensored pic!

  • I’m Just Me

THAT WAS AN AWESOME MOVE!! GO PHARELL…BUT SERIOUS WHAT WAS A YOUNG CHILD DOING THERE IN THE FRONT ROW?

  • http://www.myspace.com/shamecatierrajackson ms meca

    wtf?

  • glok9n

    where am i ?

  • JUST A THOUGHT

I AGREE WITH SOME OF THE PEOPLE WHO STATED THAT THEY MAY HAVE TAKEN A CHILD TO A HIP HOP CONCERT, BECAUSE YES THERE ARE KIDS THAT DO WANT TO MEET THESE ARTIST, IF YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW, FOR THE MOST PART, THATS WHERE THE BIGGEST FANS ARE, IF IT WEREN’T FOR ALOT OF THESE KIDS, THE PARENTS WOULD NOT EVEN THINK TO BUY THEIR MUSIC, I THINK IT WAS VERY BIG OF PHARRELL TO GO OUT AND APOLOGIZE, AND ACKNOWLEDGING THAT THERE ARE YOUNG FANS AS WELL, BUT IF YOU KNOW THAT YOUR PERFORMANCE IS GOING TO HAVE EXPLICITY IN IT, THEY SHOULD STATE THAT LIKE A MOVIE, MAY NOT BE APPROPIATE FOR KIDS UNDER XYZ, JUST A THOUGHT, I WOULD’VE THOUGHT KANYE, PHARRELL, AND RIHANNA WOULD HAVE BEEN SAFE TOO, JUST A THOUGHT, BUT IN THE MEAN TIME KEEP UR F*CKING KIDS HOME LOL!!!!

  • http://claimid.com/muertecaramelo Miss P

Was he cussing TO the child? Did he addressed profanity to anybody?

He was not; no reason to apologize.

A child in front row of the Glow In The Dark Tour? That’s something that people do and NEED to apologize for.

    Word.

  • DR.Pepper

Pharrell Wasnt Forced To Apologize He Just Went out After His Set During An Intermission And Did When He Found Out There Were Kids Present.

  • Kym G

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>KEEP THEM DAM BABIES OUT THE FRONT ROW….

  • JAD

I respect him for that. However, that is not the ideal place for a child to be.

  • Mika

Went to a Ying Yang twins concert in ’06. Plenty of kids there, black and white. (Not many Hispanics where I live.) Most of the kids were under 10, including some toddlers in strollers, that age that kids repeat everything they hear. SMH at the parents involved.

  • ms.kelly

the child was 5, he stated that when he returned to the stage after apologizing to the parents

  • K-ten

i agree. that should show whoever brought the kid there that they were stupid to have him there at a concert where anything could happen.

  • Ghost

apologize for the music after every song then, i blame the parents. this is art you don’t paint then say sorry. eff that. somebody needs to be responsible for being a parent.

—————————————————Most of the Neptune songs don’t have that much profanity in them and the two list in the article sure don’t.

I’m just wondering are these the same parents that take thier kids to see Chris Brown or Pretty Ugly Rickey HUMPING the ground at concerts or R. Kelly concerts. I don’t see them calling out the WWE that features women getting punched, cussing and buffonery.

  • NERDWILLIAMS

Pharrell has a lot of class. I can’t wait to see them when they come to Chicago. A lot of children are going to concerts. I would never take my child to a hip-hop show. But big ups to Pharrell.

  • Care

You know what, there are reasons out there to take a child to a concert. My son is 7, has leukemia, and loves Kanye West, and I am taking him to the show tomorrow night! its up to me what my son sees and hears, and we’ve already discussed what he will see and hear, what is appropriate and is not!
