Kim Kardashian, Ciara and Meghan Markle Support Serena Williams In VOGUE
Ciara, Kim Kardashian and Meghan Markle are over-the-moon thrilled about the pregnancy of their friend Serena Williams.
Each of the ladies were featured in the new issue of VOGUE that profiles Serena’s baby bump, public perception of her and her ultimate return to the tennis court.
“I’m nervous about childbirth,” she says. “I’m not a spring chicken. The one thing I really want is an epidural, which I know a lot of people are against, but I’ve had surgeries galore, and I don’t need to experience any more pain if I can avoid it. But the biggest thing is that I don’t really think I’m a baby person. Not yet. That’s something I have to work on. I’m so used to me-me-me, taking care of my health, my body, my career. I always ask, ‘Am I going to be good enough?'”
Luckily for Serena, whatever doubts she has about what type of person she is can be assuaged by her loving support group.
Take Ciara’s kind words for example:
“In tennis mode, she’s a beast, a lioness,” Ciara says. “But when she’s not in work mode—well, let’s just say you want to be at her table. You’ll die laughing. She’s that girl, and I think it will serve her so well as a mom. That and the fact that she has a partner who complements her. Alexis is calm and cool.”

I remember a dinner in San Francisco before a DNC fund-raiser. Serena sang, Obama sang, Kanye sang. It was legendary. She gives herself those moments—it’s how she recharges. Serena’s the girl you can call and say anything to. She’ll never judge you, and she’s never too busy for you. Oh, and she can keep any secret.”
