I work for Fl child support and we take into account both parents income and divide it based on daycare, health insurance, clothing and housing for the child. If you are the non custodial parent then you are going to be responsible for a share of cost for the child. There are plenty of women who make more than the father and get little to nothing in the way of support because the father has a low paying job or is paying support on a slew of older children.
