I don’t understand why people expect celebrities to give their hard earned money to anything other than what they want to. Just b/c Lil Wayne is from New Orleans does not mean he has to rebuild the whole damn city himself. I think it’s been time that the people who live in New Orleans or who want to return to New Orelans, work together & get their city back together & stop expecting so much from their hometown celebrities.

But Baby I know you can spend your money, but you think you would step up to the plate and give some money to people in the community y grew up in that need help. Maybe in Wayne’s honor. Wayne and Baby does not have to rebuild N.O. I don’t think anyone expect them to. But they have lots of supporters from there since that’s home town to them. Any people look up to him as well. Giving some more* money back to the community is not him “rebuilding.” He can build another b-bal court, youth center, or boys club in his name. Something that could steer young men in the right direction. That does not require rebuilding N.O.

You are right-we shouldnt expect celebrities to spend their hard earned money on their communities but its the right thing to do. Its a selfless act that would better alot of people. Its those same ppl that go out and support your work that make it possible for them to be able to give million dollar gifts-they shouldnt forget that.

If you ever go to New Orleans the first thing you’ll pick up on is most brotheres down there are ignorant to no fault of there own, there are just products of there enviorments…Louisiana as a whole puts very little effort into educating it’s youth unlike Atl which has many prodominantly black colleges and institutions (not to say many brothers or sisters take advantage of this..)but it’s there. Louisisna has nothing to offer its youth. Alt spawned Goodie Mob and outkast their consious rappers with a message…all the rappers from the boot are ignorant and rap about drugs and women and cars only…that’s all they strive for…so Lil wayne and Baby are just keeping it real to there specs…
