Nas has hit the blogs regarding the 16 year-old honor student that was beaten and killed. The youth really should take heed to this message:

Dear Young Warriors fighting the wrong wars! Killing each other is definitely played out. Being hurt from the loss of a love one was never cool.

Dear Young Warriors fighting the wrong war! I know that feeling, that frustration with life and needing to take it out on someone, anyone. But….

We chose the dumbest things to go the hardest for. I remember seeing deaths over 8 ball jackets, fila’s, and name plate chains. Deaths over “he say she say”!!!!! “I’m from This block or I’m from that block,” or “my moms n pops is f*cked up now the whole world gotta pay!!!”

I remember feeling like I was the hardest “n*gga” breathin. And I couldn’t wait to prove it.
But let’s think. What r we really proving?? And proving what to who?? Everybody knows Chicago breeds the strongest of the strong but I just feel, me, being ya brother from another state, feel your pain as if I grew up with you in ya very own household.

You have the ability and mindpower to change the way we are looked at. Look who’s watching us young warriors, look who’s throwin us in jail constantly, look at the ignorance in the world. Look at the racist dogs who love to see us down. Lovin to bury us in the ground or in jail where we continue this worthless war on one another. Young warriors…. We are WASTING more and more time. We gotta get on our jobs and take over the world. Cuz this movie left the theaters years ago, Juice, Menace, Boys n the Hood, Blood n Blood Out, Belly!

When we see each other why do we see hatred? Why were we born in a storm, born soldiers, WARRIORS….and instead of building each other up we are at war with each other.. May the soul of this young person find peace with the Almighty. I’m with you young warriors. You’re me and I’m you. But trust me! You are fighting the wrong war.

This sh*t sucks !!

-Nas

Way to speak out Nasir.

Via Global Grind

  • Hot as Phi-ya

    I totally agree with him.

  • Lisa Vee

    At least he is saying something…lets see who’s going to follow his lead.

  • Denver Knight

    I second that

  • Aries Chica

    Dayum yaw’ll WE GOT TO DO BETTER!!!

  • robyn lisa

    That was very noble…please keep it coming Nas…please follow suit young brothers and sisters.

  • robyn lisa

    I hope it don’t take twitter for the youth to follow that!

  • tivory

    1st he is speaking the truth the ignorance has to stop!!

  • TASTY

    this is a problem we all must try to fix. its not jus the parents but the church and community as well. we need to take a more hands on approach with our young men as well as young girls

  • Alrighty Then…

    ***APPLAUSE for Nas***

    This is real talk. It’s good to see that someone with a voice is speaking out against this senseless violence.

  • Lady J

    I agree…..but “warriors” fight for a cause….I don’t see how a mob killing a young honor student would constitute a honorable word like “warrior”. Let’s get back to the basics. Respect, honor & love for thy brother!

  • No u can’t be boyfriend #2!

    It is truly sad that this happened, and yes more and more people should really practice ‘stop the violence’ (especially when a situation goes from bad to maybe worse!)…however from what I gather from the clip yesterday this young man was right along with dumb stuff (no he didn’t deserve his fate) but this could have been avoided!

  • nunya

    i dont think the dudes that need to hear this is checkin the blogs

  • Caramel Cat

    @Lady J

    I agree with you, I was thinking the same thing. Warriors are fighters who are fighting with honor for a honorable cause. These little bastards were just fighting senselessly and didn’t have the basic foundations that are necessary for the term ‘warrior’..

  • Fran

    The guys that did this are not “warriors”. I admire Nas for trying to relay a positive message, but another word choice would have been more appropriate. The people that stomped this young boy to death are more like animals.

  • Adrienne

    Nas has ALWAYS been about the youth. Remember that song “I know I can, be what I want to be”……He stays with a positive message for the yougins…..

  • Lady J

    The Tom Morning Joyner Show talked about community involvement, giving of your time to volunteer to provide safe havens for youths, be a positive influence, provide leadership, love & guidance. At the end of the day that’s what they need….I was previously a foster parent. And I will tell you those kids growing up to be adults are emotionless, full of hatred, rage & pain….Guess what??? Those kids grow up and have children hence the cycle continues :(

    RIP to this young man, this was the most senseless death. Parents need to take heed to this and take more responsibility for the actions of there children.

  • manster

    Nothing will ever happen until you learn to love yourself. Let’s face it, many black people has so much self-hatred that they attempt to eliminate that which looks like them, that’s why it is so easy for them to murder each other over anything. All one has to do is read the posts on here, many people love to brag about themselves being involved romantically with someone non-black as if it is a badge of honor. It will take generations to eliminate self-hate.

  • drenk

    @ Lady J & Caramel Cat

    figting with an honorable cause is all about perspective, terrorists always think they’re fighting for honor. BUT i think he meant warriors as those who are born in a war and struggle for survival on a daily basis, i think thats what he meant by warriors. Not the fact that they resorted to mob mentality. Still I hope this gets more media coverage and he expands from just writing in support.

  • Droppin dimes Quaters cuz dime dont buy shit.

    Agreed. and the term warrior is about the fight to stay relivant as a people, and NAS is telling them they are fighting… just the wrong war. the wrong cause the wrong people.

  • Miss B

    I love Nas & he’s alays been one to talk reality in his music.

    The sad thing, I doubt his message gets to those who need b/c I doubt they have inernet or even look at if in school.

    Nas needs to def. make a commercial, posters & be the voice of violence. He has me as a supporter!!

  • No u can’t be boyfriend #2!

    @ Miss Kesha86…I saw him fighting too! And I never said he deserved to die! SMDH! Maybe you should try reading my post again! No one and I DO MEAN No deserves what happened to this young man! • Caramel Cat

    @drenk

    I can understand your point and to a degree I agree with you, but I just get so tired of these little black kids acting like they are the only ones with problems. Everybody has problems, everybody has a struggle but everybody doesn’t walk around with it on their shoulders and most people find a way to channel that energy positively instead of senselessly. I just feel like when you try to sympathize with this stupid stuff it may actually fuel it because some box head idiot kid will walk around with the mentality that he is a warrior fighting for a cause and will find another reason to fight someone or something else in a physical manner. Nas should have emphasized how to fight with your brain and wit, he should have detailed that more than what he did…

  • ShawnM

    This is sooooo sad :( …My prayers are with his family, I totally feel their pain… How can you beat someone to death and not be remorseful for what you have done??? The kids are dying younger and younger now a days, thats why I take the time out to talk to all of my younger cousins about these things… Something has to change, or it will continue to get worse! SMH

  • Caramel Cat

    @sweetga

    I get your point but I really don’t think it should be the responsibility of celebrities to change the ghetto. It needs to start at home with the parents. They had these children and they need to give a damn about them and their communities. Just because and actor or musician has made it does not make them responsible for idiotic mess like this…

  • Miss B

    I think Nas in regards to “young warrior” and other statements that…

    We are young black men in a society that looks down upon us. We are constantly fighting (warrior analogy) for respect & to be seen as more than thugs. When you look at us young black me, we are the ones in jail, being buried. Fighting each other is pointless. use your mindpower to fight a good cause… the way America sees us young black men.

    ….my opinion

  • Sloppy Seconds are for Losers

    NAS made a valid point. I pray for the family of this young man.

  • Scoobie…also known as Scoobiesnax

    That is why I stay involved with some of the youth that I mentored at the B&G Club in my city. It’s been 11+ years since I worked there but I still see them around. It scares me that some of the drive, got married and have kids now (damn, I’m old) but they still stop to talk to me when they see me or friend me on facebook. It lets me know that I mattered to them because they all mattered to me! Volunteer! Teach a child to read! Mentor the youth! They are lost without your guidance.

  • Miss B

    ………….

    I agree, but when you look at whose make these celebrities famous, whose wearing their clothes & imitiating them… why not.

    Some of these children may not have a role model in their lives or even parents who care for them since they aren’t being taught right from worng.

    It may be a good idea to have poeple like Nas, Jay Z, Beyonce, Keri Hilson speak to our youth. Make commercials.

    Maybe if they bring the Olympics there, more people will get involved to clean up the city of the violence.

  • Caramel Cat

    @Miss B

    I don’t think there’s anything wrong with celebrities addressing our youth and reaching out to them but to hold them accountable for every little incident that may happen is kind of unrealistic. I think the PARENTS need to be attentive to this. You can only have so many guest appearances and free concerts and school visits; these kids will go back to their hoods with the same problems. If the people IN their hoods that are there all the time (like the parents) actually cared more then we’d likely see a world of difference.

  • Miss B

    @JB – First Vick now Plax? What the hell is up with VA?

    Maybe if they bring the Olympics there, more people will get involved to clean up the city of the violence.
    …………..

    I doubt. They’ll just close themselves off & act as if it doesn’t exist. This story will not affect or even make enough waves to make change come from people in higher places.

  • Kourtney

    I agree with everything that Nas stated. I believe that as a NATION (Meaning lets stop making things a problem that is displayed by certain races and understand that WE ARE ALL GOD’S CHILDREN) we have lost sight of a lot of things, GOD being the most important. We are to concerned with being in the majority, when most people are not doing the will of GOD. Lets starting making the decision that if I have to be in the minority that it is OKAY with me. We as a NATION need to take back our community and become better role models for our youth. Lets stop “making it” and forgetting to return to the same neighbor that you endured many struggles through in your childhood. Lets start going back and building up the community to show our youth that success can come out of any place. SO YOUTH WAKE UP, rather EVERYONE WAKE UP and see that if you have DRAMA in your life, REJOICE because the devil will not STIR UP mess unless GOD WAS TAKING YOU PLACES!!!!!!

  • Lady J

    @drenk….figting with an honorable cause is all about perspective
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    this is true, and the Hip Hop culture needs to change the perspective of the word “warrior”…because too many youths have a distorted skewed view this word…Warrior should personify things like Respect, love for thy brother, Character, rightousness and the list goes on…The hip hop culture is so powerful…I don’t think they realize the power they have to change the youths
  • robyn lisa
    Please no Olympics in Chicago…are you trying to get the competition from other countries murked???
    another point was that…Tupac would spit some truth to the kids and adults even though he was only 21 and 22 at the time…yet and still he had United non-profit organizations and children foundations all over the place…even today…most were in place BEFORE 96
  • Miss B
    @ Caramel Cat…
    True, I see your point.
    I think that it ALL starts with the parents, but if the children are acting like this at age they are now, then coming to the parents at this point is a lost cause.
    I wonder if anyone has even told these childre, “I love you.” Or “you will grow up to be a great man.” After a certain age, the children are basically lost souls and either they turn to music, sports, or violence. If You or Me can’t get to the parents, you have to tackle another source, which is either music, sports.
  • I’m Just Me: KEEPING IT REAL SINCE 1983
    THIS IS THE NAS I KNOW AND LOVE!!!! THIS IS HIM RIGHT HERE!
  • Caramel Cat
    @Love is the Answer
    I dont think you realize how much these young men and women idiolize these celebrities.
    ~~~

    That’s the problem right there. They are idolizing human beings, people with fault. They have lost the basic moral foundations and those foundations can only be started in the home. Sure, I see nothing wrong with famous people reaching out but to feel obligated to do something that these kids’ parents need to be doing, I feel is slightly unfair…

  • MissBr0nx

    Thank you Nas! You have always been a “conscious” person who cares about the youth and the hood! It’s nice every once in a while to see one of these celebrities who have been through it atleast act like they care! I agree with the other comment that was made, why don’t these celebrities invest more of their time on helping our youth here? I know that the kids in africa and other places need help, but what about us? Sometimes I feel like our hoods are just like third world countries! We need help here too! As much as I hate to say it I am truly digusted at times with the actions of our race! We have got to do better!

  • ROCKKIE

    Nas, I appluade you!!!!!. You have always been positive. Now if this message gets through. Maybe Jay-Z can also help. seeing that a lot of these youngsters foloow him and others like that person called Li’l Wayne. Also 50Cent. This has to stop, Our nations future is either being Buried or locked up.

  • Caramel Cat

    Like someone else said earlier, you can’t reason with these fools. There’s no winning, they are too far gone…

    Even a celebrity trying to reason with them has to find the right ‘angle’ to do so. I’ve never seen a generation of people who are so mentally blocked and lost…

  • Miss B

    It’s like they see, “Eat or be Eaten.” They probably don’t see a future for themselves or even know what the grass is like in another state.

  • Not Again

    Want to solve the problem?

    Love your damn children UNSELFISHLY!
    You get out of your kids what you put into them.

    There are few rules that apply to all.
    Black, White, rich, poor etc.

    Here is one of them:
    We all want to be loved and feel worth.

  • PUSSYCATFUN

    I AGREE WITH NAS…THESE KIDS NEED TO TAKE ALL THAT ENERGY AND APPLY IT IN SCHOOL!

    IF THEY WANT TO FIGHT SO MUCH…THEY NEED TO FIGHT FOR AN EDUCATION!

  • ugh

    Stop talking and go to school people. Good grief this kid was 16 and already SHOWED SO MUCH promise it is not even funny.

  • Caramel Cat

    @Miss B

    It’s like they see, “Eat or be Eaten.” They probably don’t see a future for themselves or even know what the grass is like in another state.

    ~~~
    That’s one of the reasons why Malaak Compton-Rock wanted to take the Brooklyn inner city youth to Africa so they could see something outside of their ‘hood. And then when they got back look at what happened…many of them resorted to their old ways and lost everything they learned from the trip. Why???? Because the HOME LIFE was all f’d up! You can only do so much for someone; but if they live in a home where nobody gives a crap or nobody tries then the cause is just lost!
  • http://www.lynnmonroe.net ChicDcChick
    I also think that the parents need to stop up too. Make sure thier children know that they are better then this, enstill our history, create come culture, because without it we will continue to dig ourselves deeper into this hole.
    I see so many people let these streets raise our children. To raise cowards, who are blood thirsty heathens. WHo have no value of life, no respect for thier fellow human being, and no respect for themselves. Its s sad sad cycle that they are allowing to go on and on. When we finally stand up, take our street back from these heathens, and raise them to contribute to our society nothing with change.
    They need to stop blaming others, stop making excuses for why they can’t accomplish anything. These children don’t know the meaning or hard work, what it feels like to fight for the right thing, to struggle. Their priorities are all over the place, except for the right place.
    i think nas just wasted his time….famous ppl have said the same speech over and over again and yet these young “black” people continue to act like they dont have parents or morals at all…and the reason i put black people on quotations is because is the same breed doing it alllll the time….it was nice of nas for the message but its not being heard
  • Lady J
    I see everybody’s blogs on NAS, and he has made a “step” in the right direction….BUT let’s see ACTION!! I’d like to see a web page of NAS helping to change the youth, incentives to be a positive role model….on black radio offering to help in the community….instead I see him “talking” or, on some gossip page with a big cigar in his mouth, hat cocked to the side with a bunch of women hanging on him…..The bible speaks on to whom much is given, much is required….If celebs really want to help… I’d SEE more evidence and less talk.
    I agree w/what everybody is saying about celebrities. But these triflin parents need to do a better job With these kids. It ain’t the white man responsibility or Jay Z’s. Commercials won’t help. If the law held these parents more accountable for instance charging them in addition to their children w/crimes I have a feeling alot of this would be avoided. Celebrities are selfish, our kids will all be dead waiting on them….
  • Born
    Thank you Nas. The young youth will see it if you copy, paste, enlarge it in MS Word. I am going to do that right now. You can post it in the early time of the day or evening or on the week end….it’s takes a village right?
    Even if one young man or young woman sees it, it will make a difference. Just think about it.
  • Caramel Cat
    Gangsta rap and the whole ‘hood rap culture mixed with the crack era is why these youth are like they are…bottom line… It has f’d us up for generations to come…smh…
  • Msshelli
    I presently work in an elementary school. My work experience has ranged from elemetary through high school teaching the arts. I noticed long ago how lost our children are. As a teacher it is hard to reach them all and turn their lives around. It is going to take a “village” to raise them up, support them, and lead them to towards the right path. This story brings me to tears every time I read it. Educators want to help the children, but the world has to understand, we CAN NOT do it alone. Nas is the first, but he needs not be the last celebrity, community activits, pastor, whomever, to put it out there and put action behind it. This has to stop right now. I pray for this young mans family, as well as the families of others who are out there, and need someone to guide them from the devil that is lurking in these mean streets.
  • Caramel Cat
    @KENNEDY
    That’s the point I’ve been trying to make all along. F a celebrity…they’ve made it and have their millions to keep them happy. Children should be looking to their parents and figures in their communities to be better, not some d@mn rap artist…
  • sad
    i haven’t cried for a while.. but this story struck a nerve. i am sure there are many stories like this, but every life counts.. right? Let’s not give up…
    DON’T FIGHT ANGER WITH ANGER, I feel you on that gangsta rap culture…but it’s time out for blaming and diagnosing…let’s just cure this shit!!!
  • Miss B
    I don’t we should really focus if Nas is doing this for show. He’s doing it & even if for show, it’s sincere & I’m sure he’s sadden as all of us are.
    When you listen to Nas lyrics, he doesn rap about the same thing in his letter.
  • S. Walk (learn how to bag the shit up first, THEN GET MONEY!)
    Nas is my dog and his heart is in the right place but people die everyday from dumb shit.
    This was an isolated incident and no need for intervention, it was a mob act and mob behavior is something that is not race or age based.
  • jayme
    nas is full of sh*t all he wants to do is feel the pain of the warriors (murderers) that killed that poor boy what about the pain of the boy and his mother that lost her child he needs to shut the f*ck up and go change a diaper
  • Lady J
    I disagree. Some of these rap artists are part of the problem…words of powerful. Words kill. You speak life and death in words. These artist/celebs have become rich & famous off of “us”. It is their duty to give back! That’s staight BIBLE talk. Many of these kids in gangs DON’T have parents to raise, love, provide support for them. If someone in the community can’t reach a child then maybe a positive rapper can….This is the problem people “crabs in a barrel sydrome” you gotta reach back and help others….or humanity is doomed!
  • Miss B
    People do die everyday but we know it’s harsher, cruel, and is a certain age & race group in Chicago.
    Proverty-stricken areas, bad heath care, poor education systems, high birth rates.
  • Shame
    This is a very sad situation. I feel what Nas is saying we are fighting the wrong wars. Africa and America are quite the same guns dont grow they are given to do exactly what is being done (fighting and killing) lynching is still in effect and peeps going crazy over possesions. Its just a damn shame when you are enacting but dont perceive why. Not to go to deep but its a damn shame
    And if these celebs are successful with one or two kids they won’t do anything but put that same mentality of “gettin’ mine” in their head. I’m talking about getting down to the basics of good parenting and moral values. Most celebs don’t have this and aren’t equipped to teach it to anyone. We need to make the definition of a child’s HOME LIFE better and that can’t be done with a few rappers or actors reaching out. IMHO.
    ANOTHER GREAT POINT!
    You know rappers were just rapping about what they truly saw in the streets. (Some not so much) That was Nas’ life and many other rappers lives. If they are trying to make amends now, so be it, only God can judge. For many it was a way to get out of the ghetto.
    Regardless of your views about Nas, Nas has always spoken for his people and tried to educate the people and youth. He does not do shows for the money ,for some to say how great he is, or his “chick” is. He is more humble now than he ever was.
    God bless the young man’s family in Chicago, the community, and all our communities. Have a good day yall. Good bless you Nas.
  • Miss B
    @ Lady J…
    I agree to the fulliest.
    These children parents either are showing them wrong or showing them nothing. half are rasied by their old grand parents who we already know can only do so much at their age. When the children are over the age of 10 in this environment, other avenues need to be taking to get them on the right path and that does start with music & sports.
    Kids younger than 10, they still have hope through their parents. And this is when parents need to take responsibilty. But we have to remember some mothers have no husband or father figure in kids lives, some of these mothers are on drugs or have to work hella late hours just to feed the kids.
    If we need to teach these parents, they need a safe haven or program where these new mothers can go & get parental advice & know that programs are available or here is a gym or after school program you child can attend.
  • Born
    Glok, you must be a white guy, because all this man Nas is trying to do, is save the young black youth from the mistakes he made. I pity you in your ignorance.
  • Caramel Cat
    @robyn lisa
    I know that music is powerful and I know that many of these children aspire to be like their favorite artist but I don’t think that this should be the aspiration of our youth overall. We need to be raising THINKERS. We need to be raising more doctors, lawyers, engineers, civic leaders, people who are looking to evolve our race as a whole and not just make a quick million off a jump shot. We need people who are looking to lead instead of follow and not fall into the system of big government. Unfortunately most of these people died off with the fall of the black panthers and the start of the crack era.
Nas in my OPINION is one of the greatest inspiriations in rap music to date. How many RAPPERS DO YOU KNOW RAP ABOUT BLACK HISTORY AND music that speaks highly in wisdom in knowledge or would care to comment on SOMEONE OR SOMETHING THAT DOESNT EVEN INVOLVE HOLLYWOOD OR MUSIC PERIOD????
    No, Nas is not perfect but ME YOU HE OR SHE isnt as well…the best we can do is, one what your doing as well and two continue to pray and be there for our ppl and not be so quick to judge them..because you never know what that person may have experience to have made them what they have become today.
    There has been numerous studies made on music.50 cent music errupted the whole ZOE POUND nation.Please stop acting like music don’t effect our communities you can go look up 30 studies right now.Not just negetive music Positive music has an effect too.Like the song “war what is it good for” had a positive impact on the nation and I guess someone didn’t like it so all the rest of the music is designed to destroy our communities.All weapons aren’t guns and knives wake up people.
    Nas~~ I agree with you you are right in everything you said, they are fighting the wrong battle~~ others stand by and laugh at this and say “they are animals , let them kill each other”~!i feel so sad for this young boy and the grief his family is left with.So sad the hatred some blacks have for each other and even shows the hatred for each other on these blogs, we already know white folks hate us but so much hatred of your own ~` thats why i csnt stay on this site for too long , its just disgusting the battling back and forth just for an opinion . I never post to anyone on her but Brooklyn because i like his style (maybe a couple more) but i have had a few idiots come at me like im the enemy just for my opinion.. oh well thats just how i feel~~!
    This situation is so sad, it makes me want to cry. Before we were crying over Emmit Till, who was beaten by white people, now in 2009, were crying for a 16 year old boy who was killed by his very own people. Talk about BACKWARDS
    I appreciate Nas’s thoughtful words, an I hope that we all listen. When I heard about this incident specifically and the amount og violence that our kids had to deal with in Fenger High School in general, I could hardly believe it. This type of violence has to stop. If you want to throw your future away in a gang then fine, just leave the good kids alone. Damn.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Sad to say, most of these kids aka killing machines have been neglected ALL of their young lives….I’ve heard the stories of foster kids. they DON’T have a memory of love, nurturing from a mother. Can you imagine a child that has to take care of their siblings for days without the mother in the home?? things like eating breakfast, having clean clothes, showing love from your mother are things we all take for granted… I really don’t think most people on this blog has a sense of the crisis we are facing….These kids really are generation X, they are a lost generation. But, we can start with the next generation and right the wrongs of their parents who failed generation X.

    Tupac was gansta rap, but he spoke the truth, gave back to his community & has always made music to uplift black people.

    Snoop Dogg has his little urban league football team & it helps keep children off the streets.

    It was an AWESOME idea, plus I love Snoop, but it would be nice if more Rappers created football, basketball teams for teams in these communities or opened up a facility.

  • YogiSmart

    Other races and the media have taught many of us to hate ourselves. This type of rage stems from seeing that which we hate in those who look the most like us. We “hate on” and “kill” our own kind daily. Our men are too idle, and our women too accepting. Our president is Black, but as a race, we are mere infants.

  • Caramel Cat

    @Lady J

    I’m not naive about anything! Excuse me for not understanding something that seems so basic. I understand these children have it hard but that’s why I’m trying to push to idea of the home life becoming better, not just some celebrity coming through and saving the day. These youth act like things JUST got like this. People have had it hard since the beginning of time and somehow they’ve found a way to overcome these obstacles. I just feel like our youth in many ways are constantly making excuses and feel that being violent is the only way.

  • Miss B

    Obama is in a world whereas he can’t take side or show he’s more for black america and improving our situation.

    He’s in a whole new game where he is advised and must remain neutral. I do agree, Obama needs to speak to his hometown & violence, but once he doesn, we all know where it will lead.

  • Lady J

    @caramel cat….Indeed you are naive. You talk about “these youths” as if they have been taught to make good sound jugements….these gang members show each other love because their parents weren’t their….now their love is obviously dysfunctional, but that’s all the kids know…Again, I’ve have personally spoken with many, many foster kids that have no concept of what is right….they trust no one because everyone they loved has abandoned them…You speak as if these kids should “know better”. Most don’t!! They are raised as savages, to kill & destory….But I guess suburban America has no concept of this hence you are naive!!

  • Caramel Cat

    Hey TXhustla!

  • Ms. Brilly

    And it’s not always the fault of the parent. Some parents really do the best they can with the resources they have and still fall short. Granted, some parents just let their kids run wild, but not all. If you’re a single parent and you’re working two jobs, then you have limited time to devote to your child and his or her activites. You may try to instill your child with the right values and show them the right way but, if you’re not there, it may not be enough. Grandma may be too old to chase after him or her. When you don’t have resources (jobs, insurance, after school programs, access to sports and other activities, music lessons, libraries, etc) then things can be really difficult and even the best intentioned parent can fall short.

  • Lady J

    Umm if you want to continue on your sweeping generalization/rant or want actually want to try providing facts first and foremost to supplement your assertion – then we can attempt to try to continue on a intelligent discourse. Cause no where in any form or fashion I mentioned Obama nor “recession tactics”.

    Im well acclimated with the writings of nobel laureate Paul Krugman, The Wall Street Journal, Fortunes and most economists in this country and those in global markets. Hmm if we are not in a global recession pray tell what was the purpose of the G20 meeting this past week ??, how do you purpose your thesis more than nobel laureate Paul Krugman for one – Im dying to know.

    Secondly as far as not “following politics” this is why it is not helpful to assume things about people. My second degree is in Political Science with a focus on law, so I always follow politics. Sounds like your on a roll, so when you want to attempt to provide examples that we are not in the midst of a systematic global recession please let me know…

    @miss b“` you are right and the role model business does start at home, some of these parents need to stop being a so called friend to the kid! Tha goes for white parents also , they really try to be a friend to their kid but this is about black on black crime and im sre these kids were in trouble before. This kind of thing doesnt happen over night and parents need to listen when others tell them about their kid instead of turning their heads and thinking “not my kid”~! Folks say Chicago needs to do something about their violence and even trying to blame Obama just because he is from there, and we all know they have a whole lot of black leaders in Chicago that walk the mean streets trying to stop this violence but we all know it mainkly starts at home~!

    I PRAY HIGHLY, and that to me is the best WAY in to helping the next man OR ANY situation that I know may not be able to fix alone. I LEAD BY EXAMPLE INSTEAD BY WORDS, I show instead of POINT….I LEAD INSTEAD OF FOLLOW. I will do whatever GOD leads me to do..im not going to do anything for anybody far as proving that I can help my brother or sister. because if its meant for me to do anything God will show me the way.

    UNTIL THEN MY SISTER…I will pray for those in poverty in the struggle and in need of love care and affection. I will be there for anybody that may need my help love and care..I WILL NOT GO LOOKING FOR SUCH THINGS…BECAUSE I KNOW IF IT MEANTS FOR ME TO ATTEND TO GOD WILL PLACE IT OR HE OR SHE N MY PATH..which he has done plenty of times…BUT IM NOT THE ONE TO BOAST ON SUCH THIGNS WITH PRIDE OR WITH SUCH ARROGANCE….

  • bria

    There are a lot of young people on this blog. This is your generation that is doing this and only you have the power to stop this. It starts mentally. It starts within yourself. It starts with just grooming yourself. It starts with you pulling your pants up and buying clothes that fit. I know that is something simple but you have to start with the simplicity to move to the complex. I love you all and I pray for you constantly. But how often do you the youth pray for the youth. Satan has a hold on you and the only way to get rid of that hold is to go to the alter and confess your sins to God. I am inviting all of you to go to a church in your area and confess your sins at that alter. That is the only way you can get away from these demonic spirits that have a hold on you. And, if you think you don’t have demonic spirits guiding you try and see what happens when you attempt to go to church. Satan will do everything in his power to keep you.

    This is not the lives that God intended for you to live. This is not the path that was set out for you. So much blood is hanging from the trees in America to pave the way for you and now you choose to pave the streets with your blood of each other. It is time for you all to stand up and take responsibility for your future. So many people have paved the way for you and have prayed for you it is time for you all to pray for each other and take control of your destiney.

    But be real clear we in the communities will pray for you but we are done playing with you. If that means that a few of you will start disappearing so be it, but, no more. Take heed and get yourselves together.

    Why, oh why does it just go over our heads???? Another celebrity, aka a man or woman, is NOT the solution. So overlooked is the fact that another mortal just like you and I, lacks the ability and the power to resolve this situation. We need the protection and grace of God Almighty! Period. The war we fight is spiritual, not of flesh and blood. It’s crazy how we keep stating the obvious points over and over again…”someone needs to fix this”, or “we need to stop killing each other”. How many times will we restate the problems and circumstances and keep overlooking REAL solutions??? What we have been doing is not working, if so it would have stopped a long time ago. I understand Nas’ s choice of the usage of the word “warrior” . We are suppossed to be warriors , but not for “the streets” or some other thing devoid of purpose, but for Christ! these young men are being used by the enemy. Remeber the job of the enemy is to steal, kill and destroy. They have been deceived. For those of you who think the enemy, aka, Satan, aka, the devil, aka the accuser, is just a bunch of made up foolishness and make-believe, you’d better get on your knees and ask for some godly wisdom and understanding. This is real!When you understand the spiritual world, you will come to learn that there are oppressive forces at work on assignment ALL the time and the things that are unseen are more real the tangible things that can be seen with the eyes.

    Good morning Brooklyn and @ GOODKARMA4YOU and DaHONEST TRUTH~~ Brooklyn, yes whipping a id when it steps out of line is how it should be, most of the kids that got a whipping like my parents are thankful for it. I have no kids but when i do i will not hesitate to spank that lil butt~~~ you see the ones who go for that time out crap end up paying a Brittish Nanny(911) to come to their house and tell them exactly what their stupid butts should know in the first place, but this Chicago thing is out of hand and i know i have been thru Chicago and it is good things that go on there , but this kid was a honor student and when you cant even send your kid to school (SMDH)~!!

I had a friend who spanked her son in the grocery store for falling out and knocking cans off the shelf, she took him to the parking lot and whipped that butt. Some white lady got on her cell phone and called the police , they pulled up and was ready to take her to jail but she told them ‘listen this is my kid i had him i feed him and dress him ” until, you do that then his butt is mine” She said what im doing now will save you from arresting him later”" and they agreed and left~!!

    Bad kids need to get beat.

    Are kids born bad?
    No they are victims of the cycles their parents were raised in.
    Maybe parents need to get beat….again
    So, they can remember what they are doing to their own.

    Secondly, you don’t own your kids.
    Parenting is a privelage not a right.
    That’s why not everyone can have them.

  • GoodKarma4Me

    I agree with everyone who mentioned volunteering as a big brother or sister to kids who don’t have a positive role model in their lives. Trust me it would make a whole difference. You could save you kid or family member from being killed by a future gang member or drug dealer..Think about it.

    @Lady J

    When I say ‘you don’t know who I’m related to’, I mean that I have family members who are deep in the ‘hood life and have taught their children this stuff and it disgusts me. I may have not grown up in the inner city but I’ve been exposed to it greatly through relatives and for whatever reason I didn’t adopt those idealogies. I still rejected things that I knew were bad because my home life was strong. I think many of my cousins, aunts, uncles were somehow lead wrong and did not have the adequate home life to help them deflect the negative elements around them. I could be wrong but that’s what I have observed and it’s a quagmire to me. I’m not preaching to know everything but that’s what I was saying about you not knowing who I was related to. I was blessed, granted, but I was definitely not sheltered…

  • KENNEDY

    NOT spanking your child in MADNESS. There was a time when B people would NEVER think of not whooping a child. Now, I can’t count how many friend’s I have w/children who dont whoop their kids…Their excuse is “my parents whooped me,so I always said I wouldn’t whoop my kids” Guess what kind of kids they have?LOL When we disciplined our kids things were different in our communities. So contrary to what alot of outsiders think-plenty of young blacks don’t whoop their kids. And their kids are the ones beating people over the head w/2×4′s SMH…..

  • RealismISmyReligion

    I’m sorry but this is what happens when you break down the family, for personal gain. Where are the mothers because we know most of them kicked the fathers to the curb. This is not going to stop until the black woman understands she is solely responsible for the actions of her kid/kids if she chooses to have and raise them herself. The powers to be will try to put this off on the black man not being there but if your kicked out of the union after birth what can you do? I’m a single parent of 3 and I have a career, I’m tired but I still go to work and still drop off my kids at school and pick them up from school, I walked home from school when I was in school some days it was fun but most of the days we were on the edge from gang fights, racial fights and then those jealous/hater fights and to come home and see my mom lounging or crying over some loser who socked her up to tell me aint nobody messing with me get some heart. I told myself when I grow up I wont do that to my kid/kids!

    P.S. This happens to Blacks, Whites, Latino and Asian where I’m from!

    @be

    The most effective way to discipline your kids is by setting boundries and following them consistently. I have 2 kids.

    The worst thing you can do to a child is make them feel like they are disappointing you. Children are pleasers. If you touch them spanking/beating they will resent you and stop caring. And what happens when they get to big? By that time the respect and communication is gone.

    I agree with all you said.

    Seems everyone has their own understanding meant by spanking a child.

    A child is a child and they misbehave or do certain thing on a learning basis. A simple tap on the hand & no is okay in my book.

    Getting frustrated & going ballistic on the child is different. I am a believer in discipline & some behaviors require a tap on the ass. I think it’s a certain age when a spanking is needed.

I dont boast on such things BECAUSE I never feel the need to…I know and GOD knows what ive done for ppl and thats all that matters to me. and also for those that were there to witness such acts as well. Im thankful im not like you or many others that may think like you…feel as though just because theyve done this or done that they have the audacity and RIGHT to JUDGE OR TELL OTHERS WHAT they should be doing. No sweetie im not like that at all. God said were all teachers, and therefore I rather lead by my two step and not lead by telling others what they should be doing. Just because I am a BROWN SKINNED AFRICAN AMERICAN SISTER DOES NOT OBLIGATE ME TO SPEAK for others like me, maybe those experiencing my same situation BUT NOT JUST BLACKS ALONE. If you were into the BIBLE AND KNEW GOD LIKE YOU CLAIM you do…you would know theres no such thing AS “BLACK” people. That is entitlment that MEN HAS LABELED US AND OTHERS WITH SUCH ENTITLEMENTS. MLK like me has spoken for those that were like him facing a situation that he wanted to help change, but HE NEVER only spoke for BLACKS ALONE..you are confusing MLK with MALCOM X SWEETIE. MLK always made it a point to speak for all PPLS freedom not just blacks alone..

    Now im a young WISE gifted sister that wants the best for my ppl as well. And as that being said mama….im not going to continue to go back and forth with you over something so silly and for the simple fact we both strive for the best for our ppl and arguing like two ignorant kids isnt going to prove or settle anything. I made my point and you have made yours….now may peace be with you.

    What a great blog! Still young ones with violence embedded inside of them will not be listening. The black race fights among themselves more than any other race on earth! If we learned to get along, together, we would absolutely rule, but we stay divided over pettiness. I speak to my “brothers and sisters” when we are passing each other, and do not put my head down or turn away. I love to talk to them when I get a chance even though we may not know each other. I want them to know I see them and I care about them. Even on these websites I see alot of disrespect towards each other. The hatred is deep in the black race for others that look like you…

    Some advice for parents…if all you strive for is your kids to fear YOU then trust that a day will come when your child is going to size you up and decide they can take you. If you put the fear of God in them…placing their obedience BEYOND just that they give to you but to the Lord and what He expects of them, then you’ll have greater success with training them up in the way that they should go. If they are obedient to God, they will inevitably be obedient to you as well.

  • Ms. Brilly

    I’m not convinced that beatings, spankings, whoopings, licks, whatever you want to call it, works. Lots of the kids I knew got spanked and still ended up in the street. You spank them too much and they become numb to it, they build a tolerance and it doesn’t become a deterrent.

    In my opinion, you have to use the form of discipline that will work best for the individual child. If that’s a spanking so be it. If that’s a time out, so be it. If that’s taking away some priveleges, so be it. I don’t think there’s necessarily one right formulaic way to do it.

    It is beyond sick and inconsiderate to oneself and others to increase the ghetto population.

    If you live in the hood, move the h3ll somewhere else before you wanna have some kids! On top of that, how stupid is it to send your child to one of the worst schools in the city, we ALL know that stupid unheard of things go down there. Then mfs act all shocked!

  • Silken Dove

    STOP having kids in the f-ckin ghetto! The main problem in our communities is the lack of parental involvement. A CHILD cannot raise a CHILD but crap like this is the end result of child having children. No one is guiding these children, loving these children, DISCIPLINING these children. Instead you have girls chasing D1ck, guys depositing their seed in anything breathing, and children being born to irresponsible children. On top of that, most of the time the FATHERS of the children are no where to be found.

  • BrownSugar

    I’m from Chicago and we are feeling the pain, even as I type my reply I can’t stop crying. The youth are destroying themselves and others in the process all over the world. It has left me numb, and angry and trying to figure out what is right move to make. We are so busy with our lives that these children are being raised by the streets. The biggest concern in Chicago right now is the darn Olympics when they need to be focusing on how to help our youth.

  • sommer

    Whoa I could not have said it better. I cannot understand why these young kids hate each other so much. Saying who can stand on their block when in reality they do not own anything yet. why do they feel they have the right to take someones else life and feel no remorse at all. did we not see this coming or did we as adults just turn our heads. How can we fix this problem? It is so many goods African American kids who are contributing to the world, however they are being over shadow by those who want to be criminals. These criminals have no regard for life this is a shame.

  • resurrected

    This is so very sad that this young man had to lose his life all over other people ghetto children and lack of house trainging… He was trying to do his best in a very crazy word and I hope that those other people that are involved in this also get what is coming to them…

    We can’t out everyone living in the ghetto in the same category.

    I’m sure it’s some who want to leave but are unable to now with their circumstances.

    And I know some have kids just for the governmental aide they receive… more kids, more money. Do they care about the kids? Do they have a father in their lives? Are they in school?

    Make them et a job just like i have to. It’s easy to shoot out a bunch of babies then apply for welfare… for all races. I bet you stop giving free money, & they’ll stop havin kids their hard earned paycheck can’t take care of.

    that goes for anyone who thinks that his street and or neighbor in the hood is exclusive, like they paid for it…..but that also goes to show you how small their minds are…..they don’t own the street, apartment nor the house that they live on and yet go bolistic when someone from another neighborhood dare drive down said street….How sad that people in this world have that mentality…and these aren’t dumb kids/people…a lot of these people are smart and talented but have no one help them focus their energy and realize their own talent..the parents of these kids need to be held accountable….stop having kids if you can’t support them…I almost think it is a conspiracy to keep Blacks dependent and not doing things to better themselves.

  • Passenger 57

    Nice try, Nasir.

    African-Americans, across the board, have POOR VALUES. Even middle class blacks have POOR VALUES. VALUES have nothing to do with race, it is about a person’s own desires and wishes and what he/she deems important.

    Black people in America have been tricked into thinking that they are helpless. We have become an entire race of dependent drones, needing anybody and everybody to “help alla our people” out of the muck.

    The black value system is made up of two key components: an inability to delay gratification and an unwillingness to punish bad behavior. These two ideas are prevalent amongst MOST blacks in America and is the root cause of MOST of “our” problems.

    I only know a handful of black people that can delay gratification. I know even fewer black people that are willing to call out follishness and dysfunction to the actual person committing the bad act. Most of us just talk talk talk and blog bl og blog and roll our eyes at what we see. Most of us have family and friends living FOUL and will still keep them around.

    The problem with African-Americans is our value system and until we address that there will be more Rwanda-style atrocities occurring.

    This stupid arguing still going on?

  • MADE.IN.NY

    Satan is real. Keep trying to fight him on your own and you will never win.

    People have children every day and they are not prepared to be parents. They do not know the basic fundamentals of what it takes to raise another human being to the best of their ability.

    I say look at the type of people who are having these kids and look at how they went about bringing these children into the world. Once you get to the root of the problem, you will find the answers as to why the youth of today is so out-of-control.

    One day, I was a witness to a situation that almost escalated to a violent mess all because of one 10 year-old boy who cursed out a grown woman (grown as in her late 40′s)for no good reason.

    That little boy had the worst attitude I’ve ever seen a child possess. And when things got so out of control to the point of a gun being brought out, that same little boy’s mother came down the street raising hell as she defended her son. The mother did not know that her child’s utterly disrespectful mouth caused the whole problem in the first place, but she was ready to fight for him. I have no doubt in my mind that the same child will grow up to be locked behind bars for years or end up six feet under.

    It was only after the police were called and mediated the situation that the little boy’s mother found out the true story. Guess what? The mother and the woman who was cursed out stood there and discussed the situation like two grown adults. The mother finally realized her child was in the wrong and had no business being in the area in the first place.

    I think it’s sad that children have to kill each other before we take notice. Listen to the music this generation has what type of behavior do you expect. I’m form Chicago and it wasn’t this bad when R.Kelly wasn’t seeing nothing wrong with bump and grind or when Jodeci wanted you to stay. The way we live the music being fed to our youth has a lot to do with the way they react. This child wasn’t singled out those kids were fighting each other something that happens on a daily in the Chi just so happens this was caught on tape.

    meanwhile, the average thugs continue to do what they do because they can’t read what he wrote…

    meanwhile, the above average thugs continue to do what they do because they stopped reading two sentences through, because it’s not cool to read around those who can’t.

    meanwhile the people that can read and comprehend take this and read it and judge from a distance, never trying to take action in their own hands, talk about the thugs which breed contempt on both sides, which continues this self-hate issue that Nasir is discussing.

    What we need to do is talk to these kids instead of being scared of them. I have a group of inner-city kids that I bring together every summer for a basketball league and every summer they spend the first 2-4 games fighting each other (black people) instead of trying to come together to win against an opponent (opposition, whatever the race or subject).

    It has to be us that deliver Nas’ message in our own way, these kids are hurting because they seek love and since they haven’t received it, they are rejecting people before they can get rejected. Believe it or not, these children feel pain you would never imagine, they need you in their corner, they need to see you come to their schools and pull them out of class when they do good and when they do bad. Who cares if you’re not their father or mother, you might be the closet thing they have to one.

    Leave the world a better place and make a legacy for others to come!!

    kiddies never to old or too tall or too big to get beat. They might grab the belt and say quit playing, but they know don’t try me. I get at least one lick in, before they grab the belt. Then I start yelling like i am still in the service. They just look at me all crazy. But they know, I got the ATM cards, so don’t play

    There is a story about a kid from Chicago whose dad was killed when he was young and his mom was on drugs and they took him away from her. He decided at a young age, enough was enough for him and he excelled in school while in foster care and was awarded over a million in financial aid and scholarships. He was like I am doing what I have to do to get out of this mess.

    I live in Chicago where this happened and now some people are mentioning that he threw the first punch or a punch or whatever.

    It’s a fine line. On one side, yes he didn’t deserve to be beaten to death if he threw the punch. But then on the other side, if he hadn’t throw the punch then he wouldn’t had been in the fight and he wouldn’t had been killed.

    Well said Nas!

  • Ms. Brilly

    there’s a lot of generalizations going on and some people have seen Boyz in da hood too many times. Spend time in the “hood” and find out what the true systemic problems are.

    And yes, the children there are protective of their turf (eventhough they don’t own any thing and are sometimes living in poverty) because that’s all they know. If you live in a cardboard box, you’re going to protect that box because it’s the only home you have.

    Yes, parents are getting younger. And yes, some people have kids for the wrong reasons knowing they can’t financially or emotionally support them. But that’s not the whole story and that’s not the only story. People need to stop getting their notions of the ghetto from 90s films by the Hughes Brothers and John Singleton and find out what the real deal is.

    Meeke>>>A lot of us don’t want to change. Even though many of us know to do better, some of us don’t want to. We can talk until Jesus comes back, but it won’t change until the mentality of many in our community changes. We’ve been talking since the 60s, but nothing changes. However, even though horrible things happen like the death of Derrion, let’s not forget that there are black people that are doing great things. We tend to focus on the negative in our community, but there are people doing big things. We just don’t hear about it.

  • Dajournalist

    It is going to take a nation of Black men to fix this problem. Even the strongest black woman cannot teach a boy how to be a man.

  • Cokoliscious

    Now that I’ve lived to see a black president I would love to live to see the day when majority black areas are safe and clean. It seems that when MLK died drugs took his place and the moral structure of the community broke down. Parents can give two shits if their kids are safe because they feel they went thru the same thing so the kids need to be physically strong and deal with it. It’s still amazing when people tell stories of overcoming the black ghetto and becoming successful. It shouldn’t still be that way in this day and time. None of the other ethnic ghettos held each other down in this way. They worked together and moved up to middle class and beyond. Other than the gangsters the Italians didn’t really beat each others asses. The Jews stood up for themselves against discrimination. The majority of these groups no longer live in rundown areas. The whites and others won’t help because they are too busy making sure their neighborhoods and schools are the way they need to be. The parents have to be the ones to want better or else this will continue generation after generation, not enough people will get smarter and blacks will continue to be the bottom of the barrell in the US.

    Don’t expect Barack or Michelle to come forward and say a damn thing about it even though this happened in Chicago, where Michelle grew up. But it didn’t happen to a little white kid, so of course its not important. And Barack is never going to say anything on our behalf. Its a damn shame that former President Bill Clinton was more outspoke about problems in our community than this black president. Useless! Never get my vote again, give me a president with a backbone. Anymore I just turn the channel when I see him or his wife. Minorities are suffering left and right and they do nothing but go to plays.

  • Sydney™ (. . .the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die)

    As tragic as the death of Derrion Albert is, it saddens me equally that the authorities are reportedly having difficulty apprehending the other suspects because of a lack of assistance from the community. The “No Snitch” doctrine is killing us, literally.

    From Chicagotribune.com: Weis decried the “code of silence” that he said was keeping police from making more arrests. Without more cooperation, he said, there will be “more violence…and unfortunately more funerals.”

    In order for the violence to stop, we have to take a stand — We’re in a state of emergency.

    On another note, there are so many sobering stories coming out of Chicago, but a new documentary, “The Providence Effect,” highlights a bright light — an all-black college preparatory school, Providence St. Mel, that ensures that 100% of its students are accepted to colleges, including some of the best in the nation. There’s more information at theprovidenceeffect.com/synopsis.html. The film is playing in Chicago and in a handful of theaters in D.C. and other cities.

  • Just thinking …

    I wonder if any of these boys have a father at home. Not excusing their actions, but seems like many of these black ‘thugs’ (or afraid and abandoned young men)are themselves victims of their upbringing. … When is all this baby mamma & baby daddy stupidness going to stop? When are black people going to start acting like adults and get married before having kids like everyone else?

  • Miss B

    @ Just thinking…

    I doubt they have a father figure or even a mother who instills authority or teach them right from wrong.

    Children act out when they dont receive attention. And how do you hit another human with a board we use to hold houses up, then ounk, kick without feeling a thing. No remorse. No one taught them better it seems.

  • Just thinking …

    It doesn’t make any sense to blame the mothers or fathers by themselves. It takes 2 people to make a relationship; and it takes 2 people to break a relationship. But 2 people deciding to have children in a relationship before it is strong enough for a marriage commitment is just asking for trouble in my opinion.

  • Ms. Brilly

    @Sim1

    Honestly, you can’t always just blame the parents. You have to take into consideration the social and economic conditions in which the families operate and exist. I don’t know how many times I’ve seen a parent try to do the right thing but fall short due to a lack of resources, not due to a lack of parenting. Sometimes, it is the parenting, but that’s not always the whole story.

    You said “YOU HAVE TO GET OUT OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD!… its the only chance these DECENT kids have. How can they be God fearing, church going, honor students – but have to walk past killers everyday? It does not compute”

    That’s something I can’t agree with. With that message, you’re basically saying that if you live in the hood, there’s no hope for you. There’s only hope if you escape it. Lots of people can’t escape it… or at the very least must endure it for a while. Many children there already feel that there’s no hope and so act in the violent and destructive way that they do. The message we need to send is that they can thrive in spite of their environment and that they can still suceed and live in the hood. It can happen and it does happen. We need to provide the resources to increase the liklihood that it will happen more often. Maybe we need to focus on changing the hood instead of encouraging the few who can escape it to do so, leaving the others there to rot.

  • Sim1

    Ms Brilly,

    I do agree with you. It just seems that whenever good parents/kids who try to do something in their life the hood gets them before they can get out into the world and do any good. I also agree that its not all the parents fault. Some kids just want to go their own way. But AS A WHOLE, the parents/fathers of MOST of these kids are absent, on drugs, and didnt have decent parents themselves. Its a vicious cycle. I grew up in a hood myself, and I dont mean that there is NO chance for ANYONE who lives in the ghetto. I agree that we need to change our communities, but HOW? Its easier said than done and not enough of us want to do it. Its like fighting an uphill battle. And after seeing this, I must admit that I am losing hope and feel like now people have to take care of themselves. Get out of the hood, if you can, get your kids to a better place, if you can – and do you. I grew up in the hood myself and i am now in my 30s doing well. But there was nothing like these animals in the hood when I was growing up. This is a new breed. Its scary. THE CRACK BABIES HAVE GROWN UP.
