Obama made a recent decision to go to Denmark to push for the Olympics to be hosted in Chicago.  But with his Health care Reform plan underway people think it wasn’t a good idea.

President made the hasty decision to fit a Denmark trip into his busy schedule in order to push for the 2016 Olympics to be held in Chicago.  The initial plan was to have the first lady Michelle Obama sit in and push for Chicago but Obama decided last minute to go as well hoping his presence would help gain the vote for the summer games to be held in Chicago.  The host city will be picked on Friday and the President plans to be present for the presentation on Friday.  Barack Obama’s appearance at the meeting will make him the  first U.S. president in modern times to pitch for a city at the IOC meeting.

Some believe that Obama’s decision to go to Denmark is hasty and unnecessary.  RNC Chairman Michael Steele bashed Obama for his trip:

“I think the First Lady would have been and should have been the lead here, let her go and sell Chicago. But the goal should be creating not job opportunities seven years from now but job opportunities today. And I think that what the president is doing is not necessarily helpful and doesn’t, in my view instill the confidence in the American people that the focus is there on jobs, wealth creation and moving us beyond a recession to prosperity.”

The cost of hosting the Olympics could be 8 million and upwards but the revenue that it could bring in could really help America during this tough economical plan.

Let the man do his job!!!

  • Aunt Viv

Whether people like him or not, he’s the most famous person out of Chicago right now, besides Oprah.

    @Royal Chocolate

I know! Somebody always has something negative to say… Usually some jack ass!

    ; )

  • told you so

    yeah! gold
While I understand what Obama is trying to do. I agree that he has more important things on his plate.
    But still, its his choice…

  • Redd

Some people have the ability to multitask!

  • ummmmm…

I agree…I understand his attentions, but I do think that he is really focusing a little too much on things that aren’t as important as others. Jobs 7 years from now? I’d rather get a good job today than be broke for the next seven years….

  • KELZGAL

The Prez isn’t coming here to Chicago, he’s going to Copenhagen Denmark on Thursday for the 2016 Olympic bid for Chicago!!!

  • drenk

    @Royal Chocolate

worrying about olympics IS NOT THE PRESIDENTS JOB. Lets start worrying about Iran instead!

  • Rome A.K.A. ( I don’t like crabs in a barrel. “hint, hint Bossip”)

Not Surprised by anything that comes out of Michael Steele’s mouth.

  • TheNewGuy

Ok if I’m correct he’s going to be in Denmark and he’s only going to be on the ground for 5hrs. 5hrs!!! People sleep longer than that. Ehh I guess the haters need a reason to hate. If you get tired of Obama, feel free to hate one me.

“Tell me my hair ain’t luxurious.” lol

  • KayKay

    @ fred

Please, I doubt you would put it that nicely lls…

Unsure of the economy today…but establishing a possible platform for jobs tomorrow…what’s wrong with that?

  • %#&?!!

oh lawdy! the inbreds r cantankering again.smh.

  • http://www.yahoo.com Re

They evaluate this man and his wife every 5 seconds:

    1. Why Michelle wore shorts on her vacation
    2. Barack glanced at a woman’s arse
    3. Barack is a socialist because he wants everyone to have health care (yeah, I know its more complicated than that, but this is sums it up)
    4. Barack is a socialist because he wanted to talk to kids across America about the importance of school
    5. Michelle bought shoes that were expensive and therefore she’s materialistic
    6. Secret service checks on facebook the likelihood of an assasination by using polls
    7. Barack’s middle name is Hussein, so he’s a secret terrorist

…the list goes on. I mean, damn.

  • fred

@ kaykay i wish i was the president

  • http://bossip Kimerly Laquisha

Hell what will a few hours hurt!! He’s trying to bring in and secure jobs, it’ll be a good opportunity for chi town and a huge financial boost. let our president do what he do.
the health care bill isn’t going anywhere soon!!!

  • KayKay

    @ fred

Me too. They would be getting all types of ho sit down from me!

    @The Bear

Absolutely big bear…as long as you promise to chase squirrels with me in the moanin…

  • The Bear

    FUNNY!!!

The republicans are like: “How can he run off to Denmark when he should be here working on the healthcare bill!!!”

And I’m thinking: “You mean the same healthcare bill you’ve been trying to stall for years?”

  • The Bear

Mmmm mmmm mmmm. You sound like my kinda girl!!! Shall it be your kennel or mine? LOL!!!

  • The Bear

    @ Re

That last comment was @ you BTW

  • lady

I don’t understand how the prez could fly into Chicago to pitch the Olympics but hasn’t said one word about the epidemic of school children killing each other in his “hometown”.

  • The Bear

    @ Re

Since you do want to chase squirrels I guess it would have to be your kennel. No squirrels where I live. Closest thing we got to squirrels round here are mongoose. They’re fun to chase in the mornings too though (you should try it).

  • olsweetdickwillie (WHO GONNA CHECK ME BOO?)

why put it in Chicago, that city is pure hell right now.

  • Soul Ese

New Olympic sport….500 meter run from the large group of children with sticks….. focus on what Chicago really needs….HOPE!!!

  • KayKay

    @ fred

    I definately agree!

  • http://www.k.com noelle

Oh,s top. He just misse dhome

Um, the headline on my Sprint phone last night at around..1:00 a.m. said the recession was over or stocks were back up or something. So, huh?

  • Oh my goodness…

By the way…Oprah is going too :)

  • Sharie

    Get off his nuts!

  • Oh my goodness…

And by the way…its not this Presidents job to get some of you people jobs. The only thing the Government can due is pump money into the system and hope people start hiring. The only jobs government can creat are government jobs..not corporate jobs or everyday jobs. Im seeing entirely too many people sitting around staring up at Obama with their eyes glazed over waiting for him to hold your hand and do everything for you…its ridiculous. The man is a human being, not Jesus.

I dont agree with everything this President has done thus far, but I do respect him for being man enough to stand up in this moment. Unlike Michael Steele who talks a bunch of ish from the sidelines…that n*gga wants to be Obama so bad its pathetic. The envy is overwhelming at this point..ok im done, LOL.

  • oops

why he got to hold his own umbrella. you ever notice everyone else has an “umbrella holder”

  • LovelyLisa

Those dumbasses opposed to this trip, obviously don’t understand the impact bring the Olympics to Chicago will have on the entire Midwest, an area affected greatly by the economic downturn. Obama is right to do whatever he can do to make it happen.

  • Infinit45 (Kanye was out of pocket)

It’s just a feeling, they’ll get over it.

  • Ronda

I love Barack Obama and his family. Never before have I seen a person work so hard in such a short time and be criticized at every turn but keep going in spite of it all. Basically he’s showing the world how a real President should perform. He knows how to multi-task and doesn’t have to wait for the solution to one problem before he’s addressing other issues. He’s able to walk and chew gum at the same time.

Bravo Mr. President. I support you whole heartedly. Keep up the great work.

  • ?????

    @ Ronda
I have NO problem @ all with you supporting our president…but im just curous but how many of these “solutions” have actually worked, now im a firm believer in “R & R” but seriously nuthing has changed since he’s been in office…more deficit & more funding cut….just sayin

  • StrictlyBusiness

Do what you do Mr. President!!!…..everyone can see the war and health care are both at the top of his agenda, however, helping Chicago get an edge on the Olympics is an awesome deal if he can pull it off….people don’t realize but Andrew Young and his team bringing the 96 Olympics to Atlanta forever change the city. Before then Atlanta was a city few really knew a lot about and the Olympics brought the city unprecedented publicity on a global level and lots of economic development. The same will happen for Chicago and it only improves the cities economy in the end……it’s sad to see the man have nothing but positive on his agenda and bust his azz to get his done, but so many people criticize him for every thing his does…… then again it’s expected b/c 60 Million idiots did actually vote Bush in office for two terms so they probably don’t understand seeing a real President doing work that matters.

  • memchee

is every move he makes hitting the daily news?

I’m evening questioning his travels….wasn’t necessary for him to make the olympic trip if his wife was his designated envoy.

Its wasnt like while on his trip to Denmark 2 planes were driven into a national building, thousands were killed, and billions upon billions were spent on a new found war that deployed over 3,000 soilders or i have another great one, how about an entire city underwater with hundreds dead and thousands hopelessly sitting on a barely visisble roof with signs pleading for help, the other half camped out in an Arena for days on end ….Im just saying. There are worst things that have happened while a President was away………..
