Cam’Ron Reveals That Dame Dash Slapped Harvey Weinstein Way Back When

Just following Cam’ron making headlines for calling out Kanye West on how he handled his personal situation with Jay Z, Cam is now addressing more beef on the new Dipset reunion track “Once Upon A Time.” On this song, Killa tells a story from 15 years back about Dame Dash on the set of the classic Paid In Full. The lyrics to the verse are below.

“No disrespecting the ladies, word from my team

That’s the reason Dame smacked Harvey Weinstein

On the set of Paid in Full, y’all gave him hell about it

Some foul shit happened once Capo tell ’em ’bout it”

There you have it. According to Cam’ron,  Dame Dash put hands on Harvey Weinstein back in the early 2000’s for disrespecting women. There was some friction between the two back then, which has been documented by the media throughout the years. In 2005, Dame told the Daily Intelligencer Weinstein “had a girl and I knew her, so I said ‘Give me her.’ He was pissed.” According to some people close to the situation, Dame’s actions were so wild that the Weinstein family reportedly didn’t want to even be around Dame Dash without Russell Simmons present in the mix.

Cam isn’t the only one addressed their tumultuous relationship, either. Dash told Hip Hop Motivation about his relationship with Weinstein back in October, and explained that they “had a lot of aggressive interaction. And I know even culturally, like, my people would say things, like, I would see interviews with Wood Harris and with Just Blaze and all that, and they’d be like, ‘Oh he yelled at Harvey Weinstein. He yelled at the Weinsteins.’ But the bottom line is, like, when I look at somebody treat other people wrong, I can’t just look the other way. And any opportunity I get, I know I’m strong, but I’m always gonna make them suffer for the people that aren’t strong enough.”

Shoutout to Dame for knowing what’s good way back when, and putting Weinstein in his place.
