Sudden Passing

One of the original members of the R&B group 702 passed away recently:
“Orish Grinstead of the R&B group 702 passed away this Sunday from kidney failure. The singer was the twin-sister of Irish, and one of three members of the Las Vegas-based group who spawned R&B hits such as ‘Steelo’ and ‘Get It Together’ back in the late 90s. She was only 27.”
Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends.

Man…I was just in Vegas back in February, and one of my Alumni Sorors at UNLV said she was in bad shape…SMDH. I still love 702 and the collabo’s joints they did with Missy…I used to cry many of nights to “Get it Together”. ‘Where My Girls At” and that cl*****ic ish “Steelo” just brings back too many crazy ***** wild days as a greek online…”Where My Girls At” was our line stroll! Oh no!!! I love 702!!! And I too remember that joint they did with Subway that was when it was 5 of them including the twins… So sad to go so young. God bless and condolences. Its hard losing a sibling or any close relative- I cant imagine though how lost she must feel with the lost of a twin- that’s your soulmate. Again, God Bless…

I absolutely loved steelo, anyway, RIP. This news makes one appreciate life much more, we take it for granted nearly every single day, God, Family, friends, your mind, spirit, body and soul is so so so so so important to look after.
As long as we are respecting ourselves and others, we should all go for our goals, dont put yourself down, because their a many out there who will try do it for you. Think with a postive attitude, and be the best you can be!

I am so very sad to hear this they should post a pic becuz peeps are getting things confused. On the video this little game she is one of the original 4 members of 702. I am so sad for their fam I can’t even IMAGINE how Irish must feel. May God keep them close in this difficult time in their lives.

Orish is one of the original founding members of 702. LaMisha, in the middle, was the one who sung lead on Subways video. RIP. So, to everyone who’s asking, who is she, will know now. She was a member, when they began their career. When she left, Kameelah came and took over lead. So, maybe everyone just remembers the group pictured above, but that’s not the original 702. Not saying, they weren’t jamming. Because they were. I am 26 now, but I remember when I was in middle school,and Subway video came on.

To those who don’t know…Actually…Orish was the original member of the group. When they first came out with Subway, she was on that song. However, by the time they actuall got some attention, her twin Irish had replaced her in the group. Then when they came out with the last album, Star, Orish was in the group again. So technically, she is a member of 702.
An original member at that. And RIP girl.
R.I.P. I’m not sure which one she is, but I remember there were twins in the group. I loved their singles. (I’m watching their song with Subway now.) Kidney failure AND cancer? Hate to say it but it sounds like she had HIV or AIDS. Those are two major diseases – and to have them at the same time? That doesn’t usually happen unless there’s an immune deficiency.
Come on…all you have to do is use google and your brain. Orish is not well known for being in the group and she quit as a member kind of early on in their career. When they were real popular she wasn’t around and she is NOT in the picture above. Bossip should have made that clear. Anyway, it still is sad and I hope YHVH gives her sisters and family strength.

Orish was not a part of 702 as they are shown above. Pictured above from left to right are Irish(Orish’s twin), LeMisha (the older sister of Irish and Orish), and Kameelah (the lead of the group). Orish was in the group at the very beginning and she left. She came back as a fill when LeMisha left to have a child. Then LaMisha came back and it was just the three again.

Grinstead, who was 27 years old, was also suffering from several other medical complications, including cancer which she yet had been treated for. According to sources close to Grinstead, the singer’s been plagued by her illness for quite some time and was only expected to live for several more months.

Orish formed the group, 702, with her twin sister, Irish and older sister, Lameisha in the mid-90’s before being discovered by comedian, Sinbad in the lobby of Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada.
