ok so when is obama going to arrive? he needs to address the matter himself, since he has “so much love for his adopted city.” forget the olympics, he needs to bring that city, and the entire country, in order from all the crime and poverty we have endured for too long.

u know what i find interesting…if this was john mccain as prez….i bet most folks wouldn’t be waiting on the white house to say somthing. I don’t care that its his adopted state, the people elected their officials. They should be trying to fixing the violence in their state. Obama makes a statement…so what now. Chicago’s gov need to take the steps to fix their state. Obama has a million things on his hands. Even though i dont’ like the olympics thing…..thats why we have elected officials.

Eric Holder is the most appropriate person to send.

And though this crime is HORRENDOUS, Sadly there have been more horrendous things to happen in Chicago just last year, and bound to happen again (I seem to recall a brutal burning of a 4 year old toddler, as a gang retaliation; as well as the playground killing of a College-bound high schooler). If President Obama visited Chicago everytime a horrible crime happened in Chicago, He’d never be in DC.

Chicago just lost the olympics so President Obama should have been in Chicago addressing this issue not halfway around the world begging for the olympics. The president has been avoiding the controversial black topics and calling kanye west a jackass just to impress the white press core was wrong. Kanye performed for Obama after he won and he wasnt a jackass to his face he wanted to help get younger votes. I dont like two faced people like that who use people. I still havent heard him or the white house apologize to Kanye. Kanye is from chicago and he has been acting weird especially since his mother died so he doesnt need the President piling on the negativity and driving the poor guy to suicide.

Well it just came out that Chacago did not win the bid for the Olympics.

Do they have some type of “Save the Youth” Czar or something? This is an ongoing problem and while what happened in Chicago is tragic, things like that happen all over the country all the time. Are they going to send Eric Holder out everywhere? This seems like PR to me. They need somebody handling issues like this full time.

I don’t know how to feel about this…. Chicago lost the damn Olympic bid I was about to get paid!

This is getting scary, they are talking about deploying the National Guard on Chicago’s troubled neighborhoods to keep peace.
It’s a shame, the Guard was once used to protect black college students from racists in the south, now they may used to protect black people from other black people.
At this point, nothing is working and it’s more than obvious that we have a serious problem with young black men in Chi.

I can understand the outrage and why everyone is like “Where’s Obama?” But my question is, Where are the parents? It’s easy to pass the problem off to someone else but the real soultion needs to start in the homes. This is not the first or the last time something tragic like this will happen. You can’t exoect the President to be there and hold everyone’s hands. We need to find the solution to why our children are behaving this way.

What is Eric Holder going to do besides smile for the cameras. He cant fix this, this problem can only be fixed by proper parenting. It can only be fixed if folks actually start caring about where they live and what goes on around there. It can only be fixed when people are no longer afraid to tell what they may have seen in the streets..etc…etc.

That was some realy sad mess that went down in Chicago. Our kids are getting way out of line. Its time to set some new values!! I thought that seeing other blacks acheive some level of success would boost our esteem some but people are doing the same old thing!!!!

He looks like a Supermarionation character. And unless he can make negritude illegal, there isn’t a thing Holder can do to “stop the violence.”
