This is just terrible. There are now 6 kids without a dad. I am just glad that Kandi did not mary tht guy it would have been much more hurtful for her. even though it will still hurt bad beauce they were once together and she undoubtedly still loved him but it would have been a way worde pain had they married. I just wich the best to Kandi. She is the nicest one on the RHOA. I will keep her and his kids in my prayers.

This person claims that Jones drove A.J. to the hospital herself. I’m seeing this person’s name popping on different blogs, so it looks like there’s a lot more to the story.

Also, I hadn’t heard of Manta.com (I usually use Hoovers.com and other sites to look up businesses), but it’s good for small business info. It can be challenging to find details on privately owned companies. Thanks.

I was asked just a few days ago to sing at a funeral. I knew the young man, knew his mother and knew the circumstances surrounding his death.

I politely declined.

Although I sincerely felt the mother’s pain, I felt that contributing to his funeral (even by singing) would’ve subconsciously condoned his lifestyle.

I just couldn’t do it.

i cant believe some of these comments about this man. yall are living proof that this world is full of devils.

The thing that gets me in situations like this, we don our best “hood” wear and make it our business to be seen.

I’ve witnessed many a funeral and let me tell you–they are no longer the tasteful, classy ways to send someone off.

They have been reduced to a mere fashion show and “who’s who” in the industry.

Him not goin’ to that club, just would’ve prolonged an already “PRE-ORDAINED” violent demise. Ya’ can’t cheat karma, (considerin’ his circle of friends and chosen lifestyle).

With the exception of few circumstances, I think the way we live can play a role in our destiny and/or our demise.

For example–if I’m a drug dealer, eventually I’ll get arrested or caught up in something worse.

If I choose to sell my body, eventually I’ll end up with a disease or put myself in a situation that’ll probably cost me my life.

We all have choices.

Lawyers for his children should vie over money from his business venture to divvy towards future child support payments and educational trust funds AJ’s 6 kids. If he has his hand in a number ventures, then hopefully the kids will be okay…if the lawyers doesn’t rob them blind.

We don’t know the facts behind how/why AJ died so don’t convict the other guy just yet. The mere fact that they have only charged him with voluntary manslaughter at this early date should tell you something about what the cops are seeing. There must have been mitigating factors surrounding the homicide. The fact that he also sustained injuries serious enough to be hospitalized is pretty strong evidence that he had reason to fear for his own safety during the fight (ie. self-defence).

We have a habit of automatically tossing all the blame on the man left standing after a fatal fight without considering the possibility that the deceased might have been the aggressor.

I’m sad that A.J. died but I have no clue what led up to it so I’m not about to condemn anybody until the facts are known.

Also you did the right thing by giving that cheating woman her walking papers. Good for you. Hope you find happiness and true love.

Our source stated that a short time after midnight Ashley “AJ” Jewell was approached by several men in the club’s parking lot who were supposedly friends of “Cornbread” husband to former Body Tap owner Veronica M. Jones. Our source stated that Ms. Jones and Ashley Jewell were in an ongoing dispute over how he acquired the club from her and apparently she was not happy with the terms of that acquisition. We were told that Mr. Jewell purchased the club for a million dollars and the deal was supposed to have been completed last week but that there were issues as to the terms of the agreement.

Our source stated that Ms. Jones’s husband Cornbread and his “goons” ambushed Mr. Jewell in the parking lot upon his arrival and allegedly Fredrick Anderson delivered the fatal blow.

Atlanta Police Department spokesman Polite stated that Fredrick Anderson was arrested and charged with voluntary manslaughter and is currently under arrest at a local hospital due to injuries he sustained in the fight and once he is discharged he will be taken to Fulton County Jail.

They may have to shut it down if the A.J.’s family files a civil suit, or the city deems it to be a danger to public safety (I’m just speculating — I’m unsure how this process works). I know of clubs that have been shut down after crimes have occurred on the premises.

I’m telling you, getting mad at people that are voicing their opinions on his lifestyle and choices is not the answer.

Actually someone on my hubby’s side of the family has him a good paying job lined up in the Fort Worth area. I am leaving my job and going to become a stay at home mom for a few years until my daughter becomes school aged. Does it really matter How or Why this youngman’s life was taken? He leaves behind a family, 6 children to mourn, also a woman who obviously, loved him unconditionally. Kandi is sharing custody of 2 of his children. I commend her and respect her for that. I hope and pray this experience will only strengthen her, and draw her closer to GOD.

My condolences go out to the kids, the family, and Kandi. Regardless of his lifestyle this young man did not deserve to leave earth this way, but at the same time GOD doesn’t make mistakes. Every situation occurs for a reason. I feel so bad for all the loved ones involved especially his kids and Kandi. Even though him and Kandi were no longer dating, it was obvious she loved him unconditionally. This is so sad,we as a culture have to take action and responsibility for such sensiless acts of violence. This is just so sad I know how his family is feeling its been almost 4 months since the love of my life who was a single father of two was murdered at his job (not a nightclub) by a coworker over a stupid disagreement. When will our black men understand there are other ways to solve problems and just stop this violent behavior. God rest his soul. I pray for comfort for his family. I feel so much sorrow for their pain. I wished that we loved ourselves and each other more. We don’t value life enough. I’m going to pray for us to learn to love each other more.

Why were 2 grown men fighting in the first place. Why didn’t their friends step in and break the fight?
Why didn’t anyone tell them nothing positive comes out of fighting if they didn’t already know?
Why must another black life be lost senselessly?
Why do we keep making mockery of our race?
Why do we keep potraying the black race as a violent race?

When the dust settles, the other guy may walk if he gets a good attorney. The fact that he had to be hospitalised due to the fight could play in his favor. Self defense anyone?

I feel so sad about this and sorry for Khandi and AJ’s family. I would like to know what really happened and how a one on one fight could result in death without anyone breaking it up before. My first thought was jealousy because AJ is on TV pretty much daily and has some fame now, so anything he says or does might set a jealous negro off.

A mother knows and her mother knew something wasn’t quite right. I have children and my instincts are on it, but I had to realize you have to let them fall before they get the understanding. I know she is in pain because it was a violent unneccessary death. She seems to be the nicest and most real person of the housewives, now she has guardianship and I thought all the kids were living with her at her house, with her personality she won’t go away from them, I am sure she will be there for them always. Life is a trip and I wish our young black men would stop the violence, we are killing off our young black men at a high rate , look at Chicago.

I am so sorry to hear about his passing. Kandi has been through enough as it is. I didn’t think they made a good couple but I still wouldn’t have wished harm on him. My prayers go out to Kandi, his family, especially his children.

Wow. I know how Kandi feels because I lost the father to my children 4 years ago in a car accident we were together 10 years so death is very hard to deal with at times. My heart and prayers go out to her and his children and family. So sad and tragic that he probably lost his life over a disagreement. When male egos are involved and if another man feels threatened some take it to the point of murder. So tragic.
