Nia Long is on the cover for the November issue of Essence Magazine and looks like she still hasn’t practiced what she preached in her new film “Good Hair” cause she’s still rocking a piece.
Pop the hood to get a pic of Nia Long without her good hair.
We like it either way but would prefer her to take a stand and rock her own locks more often. Moving on, she talked about Black women’s love-hate relationship with their hair in the article “The Root of the Issue” along with Solange, Ledisi; TV host Tanika Ray and celebrity hairstylist Ursula Stephen.

I hate it when we as a people keep saying things like “good hair vs. bad hair.” All hair is dead except for the root and black people are some of the most creative people on the planet. We can rock anything from naturals, perms, waves, curls, braids,weaves. You name it, we’ve had it as a culture. I think Nia looks beautiful on the cover whether every single root of hair is hers or not.
Bossip you really have issues. You are such a hater. Look how long ago that pic was taken of Nia….LMAO! Nia is rocking her real hair now and it looks great..what about you? Hating is not becoming of you, please stop it!

That’s a lovely picture of Nia on the Essence cover. I think Nia rocks the most fierce short cuts out there even surp*****ing Halle’s short do’s. I’m not really for weaves/wigs but if you have to go there at least make the ***** look real. No tracks showing, no mismatched hair textures or colors.
I’m surprised essence hasn’t gone under rerunning the same 5 stories all the time.

When I first began losing my hair, I went through all kinds of emotions. It’s one thing to rid your hair by choice but all together a different thing to have it taken from you.
Of course (being the Diva that I am) I invested in wigs but let me tell you guys something, I get more compliments from men AND women when I rock my bald head!!! I’ve had complete strangers come up to me and compliment me not only on my head but the courage to rock it!
I know my hair will grow back soon but now I have an appreciation for women that can look beyond what society deems us beautiful.

I was reading somewhere, and I saw someone one say something about blk women putting a whole bunch of chemicals, in their hair, when they were disecting cadavers, blk women had green residue left from all the chemicals…..
I think blk women are pretty no matter the style…I just think changing it up every once i a while is fun..but I tend to stay away form weaves, unless it’s those microbraids…

Man, you’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t. I for one don’t have a choice due to medical issues. My hair won’t grow back. You shouldn’t hate on people for wearing a wig or weave because you don’t know their situation. As for actors, as much light and different hair style they must wear under those hot lights, why not wear a wig. At least it’s not damaging your own hair with all those hot flat irons or curling irons.
i was a former hair stylist. i worked on so many heads that look like roadkill when u take out the weave/braids, etc. o_0
honestly, when my hair was halle berry short some 15yrs ago, my co-worker burned my hair w/ a extra-strength relaxer!!! i had an immediate bald spot in the crown of my head the size of a golf ball. needless to say, i had to put in glued tracks (1 inch diameter)for a month. other than that, the only extentions i’ve worn are for my bo-derek braids every summer. just 2 weeks bc they grow out really fast.
