Celebrities speak out about the horrific Sean Bell verdict:
Ice Cube: “This is just another example that the justice system in America views a black life as worthless.”

Three murderers walked free yesterday. No doubt that Bell’s family and supporters won’t quit until their evil corrupt asses are put behind bars.

There really aren’t words for this and many other forms of injustice against blacks. The only thing that’s sadder in this all is that we still have blacks that will not come together and fight for a common goal and equal rights. Regardless of what others and the media has portrayed Al Sharpton as, I will ride with him till I die. He gets it and at the end, his only objective is to make sure that we, as a people of color, get it and understand that it could have very well been us. My prayers will continually be with all those effected and affected by this.

Justice was not served. This is a sad world we live in when the people who were sworn to protect us are the ones killing us. Sad world indeed.
THE prosecution’s case began falling apart almost from the start. As Judge Cooperman noted, its witnesses contradicted their own prior statements and made claims on the stand that ballistics evidence clearly disproved.
In addition, many of the prosecutions’ witnesses corroborated the officers’ narrative of that night’s events:
* They confirmed that there’d been a tense exchange outside the Club Kalua (a crime-ridden strip joint in Queens) between an apparently armed man and Sean Bell and his companions (who had been celebrating Bell’s wedding the next day with a bachelor party at the club).
* Several acknowledged that Bell and his friends had referred to getting a gun.
* Some prosecution witnesses also verified what forensics evidence unambiguously demonstrated: that Sean Bell’s car had sped twice into Detective Gerald Isnora and an unmarked police van as Detective Isnora was trying to signal the car to stop.

TRhere was allegedly an altercation involving a Pimp a w***** and a disagreement over a foursome. The pimp would only allow a 2-some. I am not sure how valid that story is, though. the police thought they were involved in a possible gunfight. That being said, Bell was behind the wheel, that was a weapon itself. The one guy shot 31 times, that is excessive as it gets. I probably didn’t help that the victims were intoxicated coming out of the club, screwing up testimony.
The Hispanic cop was Black also, and both Black dudes fired more than once so don’t get it twisted.

I didn’t follow the trial because I thought it would be pointless. I mean, it seemed only procedural. After all, the even the Mayor said the 50 shots were excessive.
When I heard the verdict, I was stunned beyond belief. I’m only now trying to catch up and see how things got so messed up.
I’m still reading, but it was pure-genius move for the defense to waive a jury verdict and go for the bench trial.
But, Sean’s widow and his family can still encourage the federal government to file Violation of Sean’s Civil Rights charges. Usually, those stick. That’s what happened to the police officers in the Rodney King trial.
I’m sure a civil law suit will be filed as well.
Sometimes I just don’t know how to feel. I live in Chicago and some of the young black men here are killing at an alarming rate.

I don’t wanna hear from those damn rappers because they started all this mess in the first place by portraying all young black men as thugs and ruining our image all over the damn place. None of the cop were white, 2 was black (sometimes they are worst than the white cops), and the other was Lebanese. I am tired of things being the way they are, it appears that it is open season on black men. The racist system (judge decision) proved that we are still living in a racist society. To them them there is no value of black life.

and this is NOT ABOUT RACE. its a pattern in our community, with cops killing our young black men. It was never about race, anyone who said it is, wasn’t paying enought attention.
Do you know how easy it is to fire off that many shots that quickly? Did you ever have to make a split second decision like these cops had to make?
Did you pay attention to the credibility of the witnesses? Or the criminals who the cops shot? Who goes out and gets ***** drunk the night before their wedding? At such a shady establishment? Going out and getting drunk at that shady joint shows the character of the people involved.
Combined with their criminal records, you have to question the story they told and also question their actions that night. It’s sad that Sean Bell died but the cops were doing their jobs. The right, rational decision was made. Stop making it a white/black issue… two of the cops were person of color. Furthermore, if the black community reacted 10% as outraged at the daily violence committed by black people in their own communities as they do to a case where NYPD is involved, this city (and all others) would be much safer places for people of all colors. A not guilty verdict means that the prosecution didn’t prove its case beyond a reasonable doubt. It doesn’t necessarily mean that the jury – or here, the judge – believed that the defendants did nothing wrong.
Plus, the prosecutors was not going to win anyone…b/c many of the prosecutor’s witnesses were changing their stories so the judge threw out most of them.
The prosecutors just dropped the ball in this case.

No, it ain’t about race it’s about perception. And people in this country perceive all Black young men as dangerous because to many of us are. People think a young Black man is out to do no good and they have fear whenever they see a Black man coming. All us us who are living right, respecting ourselves getting an education working hard are paying the price like someone said earlier, for what all the criminal young Black men do. I see it everyday on the streets and yes I see fear in the eyes of even Black women and older Black men when they see young Black men coming there way. I know it is unfair to judge us all by what the thugs do, but like my grandfather always told me, son there ain’t nothing fair in this world. And yeah, it’s true, the Rappers got a lot to answer for for spreading that rumor throughout the world that Black men are dangerous thuggist criminals and then getting man when folks treat us that way. That lady up above named Gert is right when she said that we are all cast in the same negative light because of what the thug culture has done to us.
The chaff gathered up with the wheat, yeah that’s biblical and true for all times. It’s true that folks,(cops too) are afraid and think bad things they moment they see a Black man coming, especially a young, Black man. We good ones are paying the price for the bad and we will continue to pay the price and get killed as long as the world see us in this negative light. The violent killer light always out to hurt the public. You right, Rappers gotta pay for making the world believe that ***** about us.
Let’s find out what all the rappers think about this injustice……they know what it’s like to face down the barrel of a gun when they are in their private jets and the VIP booths. “Drunk undercover cops”, as some have stated is simply not the case, and why not have some protests and throw bottles at cops to solve the problem. When you run into a cop with your car more than one time, and don’t try to stop, you are going to get shot. I agree that 51 shots is questionable, but in a few seconds of time it is easy to get off that many rounds. There is no racial undertone here, if the car was full of white guys @ 4:00 a.m in Jamaica, they would have gotten the same treatment.

True…the section of hip hop culture that glorifies drugs, abuse towards women, anti-education, and violence really isn’t doing much to help the community.
I mean 90 years ago…during jim crow 90 percent of black women were married and the thought of having children out of wedlock was just horrible.
Today, babymama and baby daddy is glorified…having children without being married is acceptable.
Marriage is particular low among the black population.
90 years ago black men had jobs, took care of their children, and pretty much was the true head of househould.
Today, that is just gone to the wayside and now it is the women who are taking care of the children.
Honestly, our culture is just being destroyed from the inside out.
What gets me is that people think ( including black folks) that hip hop culture represent blacks.

Black policemen catch hell both ways: when they lock Black men up and even when they do good, people talk about the Black cops. Black people couldn’t live in most of these ghettos without being shot, robbed and raped everyday if it wasn’t for the Black policemen patrolling our streets. The Black cops have to be cops and parents too to teach these young brothers how to act and carry themselves upright because so many of these black kids have such worthless parents. i know, I see it everyday in Detroit where I live. I couldn’t walk the streets if it wasn’t for the police.
I was just on CNN reading the comments on this story and it was appalling. I am tired of hearing people argue that Mr. Bell was at a stripclub at 4 am and therefore somehow deserved or should have expected to be gunned down in this sort of murderous fashion.
Clearly, people who use this argument have never been to a strip club. NEWSFLASH: drugs and prostitution are the norm at MOST strip clubs, whether the club is in the ritziest areas of Las Vegas or the dirtiest parts of NYC, so PLEASE cease this tired argument!! This decision disgusts me, because NO ONE should be gunned down in a hail of bullet fire when they have no weapons to defend themselves.
Mr. Bell never claimed to have a gun. It is reported, but not proven, that Mr. Bell’s aquantaince CLAIMED to have a gun as they exited the club. What would you do if you perceived a threat to your life? They did not know that these men were cops because they were in plainclothes! Hell I would run too if someone was chasing me down in that part of town.
Notably, no weapon was ever found in the vicinity of the victims. That’s murder, plain and simple. I hope that his family sues and wins because no one can doubt that civil rights where violated in this case.

Witnesses say that they heard Guzman say, “Yo, go get my gun.” All three victims then tried to leave the scene. If they were going to go back into the club with a gun and “set it off,” they wouldn’t have got in their car and tried to leave.
If the officers heard them say this why not stop them before they get to the car, tell them that they are cops, and legally search the car for weapons? Why wait for them to go to their car and “supposedly” get their imaginary gun (I say this because there was never a gun found near the victims) and then start shooting 50+ rounds?
The officers f*d this up from the get go and should have been found guilty of manslaugter.
Plus, the prosecutor witnesses were unreliable….they pretty much kept lying, changing their stories, and so on….pretty much destroyed the prosecutor’s case.
Those two dudes in the car with Sean Bell are suspect as *****. Their is something going on that we don’t know about and Mr. Bell got caught up in it. Man, I would love to see that court transcript because several witnesses said things different and the witnnesses were black too.

Detective Gescard F. Isnora shouted, “Police! Show your hands! Show your hands!” as he approached Sean Bell’s Nissan Altima with his gun drawn, according to the first defense witness, one of the police officers who fired that night but has not been charged.
The witness, Officer Michael Carey, testified on Thursday at the trial of three detectives charged in Mr. Bell’s death, saying he heard the shouted identification and watched as Mr. Bell drove the car into the detective’s leg.
The Altima surged away from the curb, “the fastest it could from a parked position,” and struck Detective Isnora’s leg, causing a minor scrape, before hitting the unmarked police van in which Officer Carey was a p*****enger, he said. The Altima then reversed, angling onto the sidewalk near the detective before striking a security gate hard enough to shatter the vehicle’s rear windshield, Officer Carey testified.
“I still heard Detective Isnora yelling, and there were other voices at this point also yelling police commands,” Officer Carey, 27, said, adding that at that moment, he thought the situation had ended.
“I believed at this point that there was no possible way that the people in the car would make any further actions,” he said.
Officer Carey was the first defense witness called in the trial of the three detectives charged in Mr. Bell’s killing; Detectives Isnora and Michael Oliver are charged with manslaughter, and Detective Marc Cooper faces charges of reckless endangerment. Officer Carey’s testimony ended the sixth week of the trial in State Supreme Court in Queens before Justice Arthur J. Cooperman, who is hearing the case without a jury.
The three detectives were originally expected to testify, but the defense no longer plans to call them as witnesses, said a person who has been briefed on the defense strategy. The change in defense plans was reported Thursday in The New York Post.
Cross-examination of Officer Carey by prosecutors was rigorous — it is unusual for a police officer charged with no wrongdoing to be grilled in court over past statements and actions. Officer Carey stuck to his version of events, though, and shrugged off as simple mistakes some differences in his past accounts, like whether the Altima’s tires were flat.
Officer Carey, the youngest officer at the scene outside the Club Kalua that night in November 2006, was riding with Detective Oliver in a van that was to be used in case there were arrests during the undercover drug and prostitution operation in the club.
Despite their plainclothes attire, the two white officers stood out in the predominantly black neighborhood, sitting in their parked van. Officer Carey said on Thursday that even though he believed p*****ers-by knew he was a police officer, he hid his badge under his T-shirt to avoid losing his anonymity completely.
The commanding officer, Lt. Gary Napoli, had told the officers in the van that the undercover officers had spotted a man wearing a White Sox cap who appeared to be armed, Officer Carey said. While other officers have said the man’s hat and coat were white, Officer Carey testified that Lieutenant Napoli said they were black.
When Lieutenant Napoli’s voice came over the police radio a short while later, his tone was more urgent, ordering the van to hurry to the club, where Detective Isnora was following the man with the gun. Officer Carey asked twice what direction the men were walking from the club, but Lieutenant Napoli did not answer, Officer Carey said. Just then, he saw Lieutenant Napoli’s Toyota Camry p***** them, and the van followed.
Officer Carey did not know that Detective Isnora was following not the man in the White Sox cap, but Mr. Bell and his friends, Joseph Guzman and Trent Benefield. In any case, Officer Carey and Detective Oliver were mainly looking for Detective Isnora on the sidewalk, and they spotted him approaching the Altima and shouting the police commands, Officer Carey said.
His account of the commands themselves — “Police! Show your hands!” — differed somewhat from what Detective Isnora said he shouted, in his testimony before a grand jury last year: “Police! Don’t move.”
For a star witness in Sean Bell case, Benefield has tough time with his lines

The prosecution in the Sean Bell trial continued to self-destruct Monday as star witness Trent Benefield turned into a witness who didn’t see anything.
Benefield, one of two men wounded in the hail of 50 police bullets that killed Sean Bell, saw so little that prosecutor Charlie Testagrossa never asked if he saw Detective Gescard Isnora, the man who pointed a gun into Bell’s car on the morning of Nov. 25, 2006, in the courtroom.
“He didn’t ask because he doesn’t know what he looks like,” said Anthony Ricco, Isnora’s lawyer.
Then it got worse.
Ricco asked Benefield if he was drunk that night after drinking three Long Island iced teas and smoking a blunt of “reefer.” Benefield said no, he wasn’t drunk.
“Didn’t you say you were intoxicated?”
“Yes, intoxicated, not drunk.”
And worse.
On the stand, Benefield swore Bell never drove his Altima in reverse after driving forward.
On an audiotape 90 minutes after the shooting, Benefield clearly tells police Bell drove the car forward, before he reversed.
“I wasn’t telling the truth,” he said.
Then or now?
Then Benefield swore under oath that he never drank any Hennessy brandy that night.
On tape Benefield tells cops he was the last to leave the Kalua Cabaret because he had to “finish my Hennessy.”
It’s hard not to feel sorry for a soft-spoken young guy who goes to a bachelor party and winds up with three bullets in his legs, but Benefield has told five different stories.
One to police; one to doctors; one to the district attorney; one to the grand jury, and another yesterday, in which he contradicted all four under cross-examination.
They are like successive drafts of a Hollywood script, the final draft tailor-made to fit Benefield’s $50 million suit filed against the city by lawyers Michael Hardy and Sanford Rubenstein.
In the final draft, the “bump” he told prosecutors he felt as Bell drove forward – as Benefield sat in the backseat with arms shielding his eyes – was script-doctored to a “collision.”
“The defense cross-examination today was downright disrespectful,” Hardy said during a break.
“Trent Benefield is a victim. He was unarmed and shot three times by police. Remember the statement he gave in the DA’s office was not recorded. Someone just took notes. I was there and I don’t remember Trent saying the things the DA’s notes say he said.”
Problem is, this is a PROSECUTION witness! Why would the DA make up a story that contradicts his witness?
Then Benefield testified that the Rev. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network, with which Hardy is affiliated, loaned him $10,000 in four $2,500 installments. He said another loan, for an amount Benefield claimed he didn’t know, was “secured by the lawsuit.”
Whaaaaat?
“Trent Benefield perjured himself today for a payday,” said Michael Palladino, president of the Detectives’ Endowment *****ociation. “He’s repeatedly changed his story to fit the lawsuit brought by Al Sharpton’s organization.”
“I’m weary of this case,” Ricco said at the end of the day.
“Tired of the endless lies. Wednesday, Joe Guzman, another of the prosecution’s so-called eyewitnesses, will tell us he sat in the front seat and didn’t even see my client approach with the gun.

Sean Bell did not deserve to die this way. Perhaps, he thought that he was being mugged by thugs. One officer is Lebanese, one is black hispanic, and the other officer is black. It has been said that the black hispanic officer, Gescard Isnora set all of this in motion. The Lebanese officer, and Isnora fired the most shots. Sean Bell was an innocent young man out celebrating before his wedding. He had a bright future;he was being responsible. How come cops can apprehend KNOWN white gunmen – John Hinckley (Reagan’s shooter), Mark David Chapman (John Lennon’s **********in) and David Berkowitz (Son of Sam) – WITHOUT BLOODSHED but require multiple rounds when confronting blacks SUSPECTED of possessing firearms? Why is that? There is a discrepancy in treatment that KNOWN white gunmen receive vs. the treatment administered to SUSPECTED black gunmen, and that discrepancy leads to sorrowful incidents like the Sean Bell tragedy.
The judge claims he relied on current law to exonerate the cops. If current law allows cops to fire on/kill innocent civilians based on a SUSPICION of threat, then we need to change current law. We need to rally our politicians – councilmembers, state and federal representatives, etc. – to change laws that give cops unfettered freedom to decide the fate of people of color; otherwise the NEXT judge in the NEXT police brutality/unjustifiable homicide case will rely on the SAME law and hand down the SAME sentence.

However, they do well at getting Black men convicted. Thank you NYC- for the 250-300 people that DID get up and march from 145th to 125th St. I woke up and heard a great commotion outside my window horns blaring, sirens going off and megaphones obviously leading the tirade. I instantly knew, IT’S GOING DOWN!! I jumped up threw on some sweats and ran outside my house and when I turned the corner onto 125th- I saw some very brave and dedicated people protesting. It was amazing the breakdown of police officers called out to “control the crowd”: young, black mostly female officers and some young black males- only Sgts. and Lts. were white but they stayed in vans and trucks while the minority officers were thrown to the front lines- I wonder what the strategy was about??
Al Sharpton is asking that we boycott NYC retail shops to shut down the City’s economy. Can you imagine how we can devastate this City’s cashflow if we suspend spending/ shopping for ONE WEEK??? He also gave the order for a civil unrest in protest of these charges and the National Action Network will deliver further directives on how we will organize and WHEN we will execute this action. He wants NY’ers to be prepared to be arrested if necessary but remain peaceable and non-violent in the protest…. I cant wait!! It would make me so proud if we organized in records #’s.
Al Sharpton will be calling on an unorthodox parti*****tion from many leaders in the communities, families of past police victims, celebrity supporters, religious and political figures and the Black community as a whole. This man is getting us organized and getting it done- by next week I think this will grow in to a historical movement.
Also, there is already a civil suit being filed by the family against the City and further legislation being lobbied regarding the conduct of undercover officers (ie. on the job drinking).
As though the aquittal wasnt enough of a shame, I want to add that the US Attorney General is supposedly prohibiting NYPD from bringing the officers up on ANY disciplinary charges- not like they would have anyway, but why would the AG extend these officers a cloak of Federal protection?? It is sad how Michael Vick can go to jail for dog fighting and these cops get off for killing an unarmed man by shooting him 50 times. This was gross negligence by the police. If this is not manslaughter then I don’t kknow what is. Detectives undercover should not be allowed to consume alcohol while on duty. They were wrong to get involved in this dispute because they were undercover. Just because someone says they are going to get their gun does not mean shoot first ask questions later. Why didn’t they shoot at the tires? It is because these 3 young mens life had very little value to them. This sad tragedy will probably happen again until they start locking these trigger happy cops up.

First- I noticed that some was like justice was served. How can you honestly in good conscience say that? – An innocent life was lost- there is another fatherless child in the world because of the actions of officers who chose to shoot before identifying themselves. So many times we see them playing by the good old boy rules- cops watch each other’s back. They are being protected and this needs to stop. First they say that it was mistaken identity then they say that he was a drug dealer. Lets for a minute entertain the thought that he was a drug dealer- that night he was a man having a bachelor party and they were looking for someone else. So that’s no excuse for what happened and besides at the time they didn’t know who he was and there fore when they shot him they did not know that he was supposedly a drug dealer. Second-Lets keep it real- if you saw a bunch of random men walking up to your car late at night or whatever- would you stick around to see what they wanted- hey maybe they want directions. No you wouldn’t. I don’t care if some of those officers were black- they are sell outs- not because they are officers but because as a people we know first hand they injustice dealt to us on a daily basis and for them to join in that thinking and *****ume that a group of black men had to mean trouble-in fact they were probably the ones that pointed them out- there’s a couple of menacing Negroes over there, it led to a situation that did not exist. They are the worst of the worst. They bring death, drugs, and no hope to our neighborhoods. But we are conditioned into thinking they are brothers who just gotta hustle to survive. No they are dumb and lazy people who don’t want to make it the hard way through education.
But most importantly we as a people have to start and become use more logic. If we don’t like the NYPD, we should all take the test and get the supposed racist cops out of there. But no, we are taught to just complain and do nothing positive. While our kids are not learning, AIDS, and everything else negative is happening to us. JERRY I do not condone drug dealing at all. Shooting drug dealers is not the way. Their is a such thing as positive reinforcements. Some of these drug dealers have been misled by their peers into thinking this is the only way to make money. Some of them have a sense of hopelessness and no positve male role models in their lives. They need guidance and educational training to be self sufficent and an upright citizen in this country.
Not 50 bullets riddled through their body. Condoning violence is contributing to the same sick mentality that killed this young man. The troubled youth in the black community should be uplifted, not shown scorn and treated as if they are worthless. Showing them this kind of disdain only contributes to the robbing, stealing, drug dealing and the murders in our community. You don’t know what kind of childhood trauma these young men have sustained, which led them to negative criminal activities. “Ha, ha, ha,” someone said in a 1:15 p.m. Friday phone call to the home of Nicole Bell’s father Les Paultre, according to a police source.
The number for the Sergeants Benevolent *****ociation came up on the caller ID.
“It was just horrible to get that phone call after coming back from the cemetery,” said Nicole Bell.
Her father said, “The guy was taunting us, laughing. It was horrible because we had just come back from the court and the cemetery.”
The president of the union, Edward Mullins, said, “If the accusations are true, we will deal with it.”

To Jerry- I too hate what drug dealers are doing to our community and that is a situation that needs to be fixed. However to state that Sean Bell was a drug dealer and try and use that as a way to justify what was done to him is wrong on all accounts. When they first stated their case about what happened those officers made no mention of knowing for a fact that he was a drug dealer. They stated that it was mistaken identity that got out of hand and that they thought they saw someone pull out a gun. Then they stated that the person who had the gun ran away and they were unable to find that person. This is fishy incident number one. Then when things were panning out for them they dragged the victims name through the mud. He was a drug dealer etc. The point I am trying to make is that whether he was a drug dealer had no relevance to this case. When those shots rang out they did not know or have any idea that he was a “drug dealer”. I don’t condone how he reacted either but because these men were not dressed in their uniforms and the way they approached these group of men it is understandable why they reacted so swiftly and wrong. But just because Sean and his friends mistakenly ran away does not justify killing a man. They could have shot him once to immobilize him and arrest him and their friends. No, they did not see a black man who was angry that he was spending his last night as a single man defending himself against strangers. And yes I said black because whether you want to admit it or not the color of our skin especially as regards our young men always seems threatening to people who are looking for us to be a menace. Had it not been a group of black men at that late hour I honestly think that things would have been different. I am neither militant or prejudice- I don’t hate all cops and I do not agree with what the streets are doing to our young people and the community. Above all I do not like the pattern that is being set that it is ok to murder someone if they are drug dealers or whatever. If Sean Bell was a drug dealer get him for that- arrest him and let the justice system do its job. The only problem is that the only ones who seem to be seeing justice are the criminals that are being given a badge and as a people we are accepting it because the victim was possibly a drug dealer. I am not someone who is in the streets. I don’t do or sell drugs. I am an educated black woman who tries to live a God fearing life. I have never had a brawl in the streets and I treat others the way that I want to be treated. But I have been approached by officers for looking at them the “wrong way”. I have seen Cops mistreating specifically black people for little incidents and been told to keep moving. The police are supposed to be the ones protecting us and instead they seem to be the ones exterminating us. It’s a shame that when you see the police you don’t feel safe. I don’t dislike or hate all police officers. But I am sad to say that my first reaction to seeing them is not one of relief but fear- don’t look at them, keep quiet and keep it moving. It’s because I have seen first hand the ruthlessness that they can display. The fact that these officers were not disciplined the way they should have been goes a long way to foster this fear in people.

Once again people look up the facts. Bell and his entourage were in an altercation with Coucoi at which point Bell and his friend (Guzman) claimed to have a gun. They said they were going to the car to get a gun. THIS IS WHY THE OFFICERS COULDN”T CALL FOR BACK UP. The officer, Ignora, approached the car he said “Police.” then again”Police let me see your hands.” Bell then ran him over. He then drove toward the other detectives who had their guns drawn. He hit their car. He then backed up and drove at them again. He then backed up and was coming at them for a third time when Ignora yelled “gun”. And the police opened fire. This has been confirmed by other people attending the party who were friends of Bell. And for your information the Trunk and glove compartment of Belle’s fiancees altima were never searched. Bell was not driving his own car presumably because… well it would be hypocritical for me to jump to conclusions here.
All of this is terribly unfortunate, but not manslaughter. I never said Bell was responsible for his on death only that the police did not commit manslaughter whether or not they were somewhat direlect in their duty is a concern, but manslaughter is not.

I just don’t see how people can generalize policemen and then be outraged at a vague theory in which the policemen supposedly acted on a black stereotype. The facts are on the policemen’s side. People are calling these policemen murderers simply because they are policemen. Look at the facts. It was an unfortunate situation but it was not manslaughter.
I don’t understand why the cops shot Sean Bell no matter what he did. Why are they trained to shoot to kill in every single situation? Are they saying these “tough” cops couldn’t have dragged him out of the car whether it was moving or not, used a stun gun, rubber bullets, or handled this some other way? I know cops have a hard job and are under a lot of stress and sometimes using a gun may be necessary, but was it really the only way in this case? I don’t think so no matter how I look at it.

I remember once I was driving in a not so nice neighborhood in queens driving my brand new BMW. A police van with 4 officers pulled me over banging on my front and rear windows with their batons screaming “roll the windows down” mind you it was about 30 degrees outside and dark. When I asked them what was the problem I was ignored and told give me your license, registration, and insurance card. They must of checked that computer in the van for over 10 minutes searching for some kind of wrongdoing, upset and wondering how I can afford such a nice car. Finally upon returning to my vehicle and finding nothing I was given a fictitous story about a car like yours was stolen in the area. That was a load of crap. Driving while black was the real excuse. This happened a few more times in my Mercedes in the same neighborhood. Police are trained to beleive black people are suspicious and involved in criminal activity. Black people including myself are outraged at this kind of treatment. This is harrasment and racial profiling.
There is no doubt in my mind this negative way of thinking in the police department caused this young man his life. If i did’nt comply and roll the windows down I could have been shot that night. They are an organized gang of thugs and criminals with a license to kill and get away with it.

This is so sad. It should’ve been an open and shut case. The officers were drunk, made the wrong call in to the station, and shot 50 times to unarmed men. Where’s the logic? Even if he had a gun they are trained to disarm meaning shoot them in the shoulder. They shot to murder and it’s sad that they were black at that. Point is there is no evidence on the officer’s sides. They reported a 13 on the guys meaning the officers lives were in danger and they needed *****istance. They claim to have shot 50 times because there was a gun involved yet they found no gun anywhere on the scene so what does that tell you. It is obvious this judge was paid off and he will have problems if this becomes a federal case. Either those cops will be no good. They won’t sleep at night, fear for their lives as well as family members, and will never live a normal life again because of guilt. Spiritually they will have a different punishment.

I drive a Mercedes myself I’ve never been pulled over by the police. My friends drive Mercedes and they’ve never been pulled over.
