The issue wasn’t their personal texting, it was their testifying under oath that they did not have any culpability in the unlawful firing of those cops (who were investigating the illegal activities at Kwame’s stripper party), which costs the city of detroit millions of dollars in legal fees and settlements + while under oath before the grand jury, they both denied having an affair. It’s not about them being on the clock or off the clock; they were issued CITY Skytel pagers and using them for abusing power, getting some nookie on the side and cutting City contracts with who they wanted too do the job.
