@ guilty, you’re right – Everybody pays for the star. You campaign to get the star (which can take a while because there is a certain number of folks who can get it every year) and then pay for it. I was surprised this is the case, beacuse I thought it was an honor and something you were nominated for. But no, people petition to get stars and the organization responsible votes on whether they do or don’t. i have always wondered how people received their stars on the walk of fame..some people put out one movie and receive a star, while others have a catalogue of blockbusters & still have no star!

PLEASE!!! Mary Hart from Entertainment Tonight paid for a star years ago!! All you have to do is know somebody, ask for a star and pay your money. The Hollywood Walk of Fame used to mean something but that was back in the days of Bogart and Cagney. Nobody should cry if they don’t have a star on the ground out there. Now, if P-Crappy won an Oscar, then I would be impressed. You can’t buy one of those.
