Got that right.I NEVER liked the implementation of “affirmative action” from the jump because Black people were achieving at a steady pace in American society before the laws & policies helped to create this “dependency culture” that has actually ended up doing more harm than good.The “AA” laws & policies basically gave politicians of ALL persuasions a wedge issue to maintain strong voting blocs with.

Re; The Olympics; it was not a good thing for Chicago. Would have lost more money than it generated especially when the Machine took their cut. At least 1/2 if not Most of Chicago was against it, not just conservatives.

Obama has not done much different than any other president to deserve this peace prize, especially for the 12 days which he held office when he was nominated.

That guy Ward Connerly (blk man) in California, is the one everyone can thank for ending affirmative action. I was mainly pissed when it came to contracts, that the good ole boy network, still only awards to themselves. You still had to be able to complete the contracts, to keep it. You also had to out bid, the others and have a surety, for the municipal’s protection of completion of contract…

It sure is funny, that all those no bid contracts weren’t the result of affirmative action, but just outright giving the contracts and money to whie folks, who are still running BlackWater, etc. Awarding contract that are not rebuilding countries that we bombed, just lining their pockets with their friends, while mislading and bankrupting the American public…

Also in sectors, where there is known discrimination and limited opportunities, there should be programs/ internships to get the minorities on board. The banking industry, construction, engineering and education fields have relatively small number of successful blks. I think it’s not so much because we are limited and can’t perform. I believe it is more ‘glass ceiling’, than anything… And of course,wht men would be the main ones crying affirmative action, after they have had free roam, over the government and the world for centuries. “affirmative action” or benefits/scholarships/charities catered towards minorities is simple math… simple 3rd grade math.

white ppl make up about 60 percent of the population. meaning for every 10 ppl that walk by in the mall of middle america, 6 of them will be white, 1 will be black, 1 will be of latin american orgin, 1 will be asian, 1 you probably wouldn’t know their race or orgin (“other”).

so therefore to even the odds a bit we have these entities catered towards minorities to help.

If you read the comments by the Nobel Committee one of the reasons they stated for giving him the award was because he was the first African American president of America. Y’all may not like it, but it’s the truth. The other reason is that he’s NOT George Bush. Come on, y’all even Obama’s friends the Arabs are saying he did nothing to deserve this award.

I get that Obama is the first black president, and I voted for him. But, the fact is, a lot of people like me voted for him because of his race. So, racism goes both ways. If Obama were a white man with his lack of experience, we’d be looking at President Hillary Clinton now.

Some of these ignorant caucasian men are so scared of an african-american man as president, is funny but sad at the same time. The Nobel Peace Prize is a huge honor. The process of selecting an individual for such a prestige honor, I’m sure is not made in vain.

How can President Obama be given an award for something that he has yet to do? This is not about black or white or differences in political parties, its about common sense.

Preech!!!! Half the people complaining dont even know who the previous winner was without googling them…dont even know that Obama was nominated for the award before back in 2007 as well. Americans dont even have a say in this award because its not an American award so who the hell are people to tell that commitee who they can or cannot give the award too?
