Wait…so was the boy living with Dash or her? B/C if he was living with her she needs to provide hot water and electricity whether or not he is paying child support. He is 16 now, but the suicide occured last year. Either way 16 or 17 it was inappropriate to take the child and the child was traumatized so I assume TV violence didn’t prepare him for it. Parents are supposed to protect their children. Dame doesn’t even care if this child goes to school. It’s not like Dame will have money to leave him. The boy is going to have to work for a living.

I brought up Stacy because the woman stated that Dame’s family has a history of mental health problems. His uncle committed suicide, his mother was in and out of mental institutions her whole life and Dame himself was so out of control that music execs had been pressuring Jay to leave him for years because Dame was incapable of behaving like a professional. I am sure that there is more to this story than what we will ever know. Maybe the young man was given money for his water and electricity but squandered it and thought that his dad would bail him out, but- dad gave him a dose of tough love. Maybe dad knows his son well enough to know that he won’t commit to basketball camp, so, why waste the money? Maybe mom has to step up a little more to provide the basics for her boy if dad isn’t coming through. Maybe the talk about Damon Dash falling into financial difficulties is true. I just hope that the father and son can be together and love one another and get through the many obstacles that this life brings.
