Dame’s Custody Woes

Damon Dash and the mother of his oldest son are having issues:
Linda Williams claims that 16-year-old son Damon Dash II, aka “Boogie,” says he was “living with not hot water [sic] or electricity for two months in his bedroom,” and that Damon took him to the morgue to ID an uncle who committed suicide by gunshot to the head. Worst of all, Damon didn’t spring for $3,600 for hoops camp. Williams says Damon has been cagey over a promise to put $10 mil in trust for the kid.
No hot water or electricity? She can’t possibly be serious…

Wait…so was the boy living with Dash or her? B/C if he was living with her she needs to provide hot water and electricity whether or not he is paying child support. How as a mother would you allow your child to go without for the sake of pointing the finger and saying such and such is a bad father. She could fight for and recoup back support by still doing the right thing for the boy. And if he was living with Dash and his conditions were like this why didn’t she remove him or have ONE TIME remove him from Dame’s custody.
As for the morgue visit that is gruesome and I hope that is not true. I wouldn’t have wanted to see that either!! Hot A$$ mess if that is true.

THE BOY LIVES WITH DAME
The mother is alleging that Dame is neglecting the boy. The child is on the brink of being kicked out of school permanently due to excessive absence and tardiness and his grades have dropped since moving with Dame. She also alleges that Rachel’s child goes to the doctor and dentist regularly, but that her son doesn’t. Dame is bleeding money and is liquidating ALL his *****ests including his primary residence which is up for sale. The mother claims to have brought this action at her sons request who doesn’t want to continue living with Dame. It sounds like a very bad situation for everyone involved.

Would you take your 15 year old to the morgue to see the body of a man that had just blown his head off? Everything is not about money. Some parents actually do love their children.

OMG Bird are you for real. I didn’t have time to read this but she needs to have the boy removed from Dame’s home. That is terrible and Dame could be arrested for the child not going to school. NYS doesn’t play that even if the schools are mediocre. Why in the world isn’t she taking him from there? Does he have sole custody? Lord I hope not.

What does that have to do with being a God-Parent? It’s the child you see 2 when mom and dad is slipping, not the mother or father.
its sad when im on my way to work how many kids are not at school or late for school… my cousin lik 16 and neva go to school really and when she do go she alway late.. i dont kno whats up with these kids but i guess if yo parent dont make you then i c why because her mama neva make her go… i remember when i was in school , if i didnt go to school that day i wasnt allowed to go outside that day either… but my cousin wont go to school but she can get all dressesd up and go hang out during schoo hours and leave her daughter in the house

He is 16 now, but the suicide occured last year. Either way 16 or 17 it was inappropriate to take the child and the child was traumatized so I *****ume TV violence didn’t prepare him for it. Parents are supposed to protect their children. Dame doesn’t even care if this child goes to school. It’s not like Dame will have money to leave him. The boy is going to have to work for a living.
I’m sorry you think all of this is ok and I pray you are not a custodial parent.

I’m confused about that too. I guess the child has a bathroom in his bedroom, but that still doesn’t make since. ConEd is not turning off the lights in one part of the house. If what this woman is saying is true then someone had to shut off the power and hot water in his room. That part of it makes no sense to me.

I brought up Stacy because the woman stated that Dame’s family has a history of mental health problems. His uncle committed suicide, his mother was in and out of mental institutions her whole life and Dame himself was so out of control that music execs had been pressuring Jay to leave him for years because Dame was incapable of behaving like a professional. Stacy, who used to be a well known actress, comes out of nowhere doing cheap booty shots. I thought nothing of the Playboy pics, but she went from that to posing in low rent men’s magazines. Something is off about that.

I am sure that there is more to this story than what we will ever know. Maybe the young man was given money for his water and electricity but squandered it and thought that his dad would bail him out, but- dad gave him a dose of tough love. Maybe dad knows his son well enough to know that he won’t commit to basketball camp, so, why waste the money? Maybe mom has to step up a little more to provide the basics for her boy if dad isn’t coming through. Maybe the talk about Damon Dash falling into financial difficulties is true. I just hope that the father and son can be together and love one another and get through the many obstacles that this life brings.
Not sure on this one…but the kid could have been in the waiting room of the morgue. It’s not like you open the main door of the morgue and bodies are just laying out. Besides, don’t they only let one ADULT go back to make an ID on a body?

Dame’s son must not be living there full time any more, and Dame’s not footing the bills any more. Well, I think that Boogie and his mom should get it together. Boogie, you can enroll in night school yes there’s a program for high school students, also, get a job and work in the day time, next start earning pay checks in order to pay bills and buy food, etc. Your situation is nothing to ashamed of, many people go this drama, but they make it. Hey, you have to start some where ! If Boogie is ambitious young man, then you will survive.

I think Boogie should take this advice and run with it. Well, one doesn’t have to attend college, but I think teens should at least graduate high school, and get an AA degree.

Boogie, another thing, forget basket ball camp you need to pay your bills first, buy food, and any other thing you need. Any way, all you need is a basket ball, gym shorts, white tees, a simple pair of gym foot wear, and work out ! If you have a burning desire to play ball then a financial set back shouldn’t hinder your dream, like the Nike slogan says, Just do it, Boogie ! Take a career cl*****, you usually get hired as a paid intern.
