I have read everyone’s comments. Question?? Has anyone heard of LL Cool J? He has had a career that most rappers dream of. There is NO greatest rapper alive. Jay-Z is a person who stepped in at the right time and had a great run. But by no means is he the best Lyrically. Andre 3000 smashes him without even trying to be the best. If we talk commercial success, then he has an arguement. But otherwise I put Common, Black Thought, Andre 3000, LL cool J, Eminem, Nas, Krs One, Chuck D and so many others before Jay that it would take me all day to list. He should do more research before he states that he is the “best rapper alive”. He may be the most successful, but definetly not the best! And I am From ATL and I Hate Gucci!!!

Every few years you get a rapper(you can’t even call them mc’s) whos been on the scene for a minute start poppin off. It’s all about record sales people.You can’t even say the two names in the same breath and expect to be considered an intelligent fan of hip-hop.

The only people that come close are Nas, Talib Kweli and Common based on talent and longevity, and Kanye is on his way (needs to prove more longevity). Gucci is a minstrel show. Period.
