Quote of The Day
Posted by Bossip Staff
The Nas is featured in the new issue of the “prestigious” King Magazine. As usual, Nas keeps gets straight to the point, as he talks about his outlook on the N-word and race issues in the U.S.
Do you remember the first time you were discriminated against because you were black?
The first time I opened up a Superman comic book. The first time I saw Flashdance, with the light-skinned, beautiful bitch who’s chasing after some white cat, which…I don’t have nothing against interracial relationships—love ’em, actually.
Wait. On “These Are Our Heroes,” you mentioned Tiger Woods…
A lot of times, when people look at me, they look too deep into it. Tiger Woods standing up for this white lady who said something about him being lynched is a coon move to me. God bless the brother. I like to see him doing his thing, but that’s a flaw to his character. That’s an issue I would have with Tiger Woods; not who he is married to. I don’t even know who he’s married to.
I’m asking because you shouted out him, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Taye Diggs. They’re all married to white women.
I saw Cuba Gooding do a hand spin or some shit on an awards show—that’s very coonish to me. I can’t remember what Taye Diggs did, but I didn’t know he was married to a white woman. You know who my hero is? Richard Pryor. He was married seven times. My favorite wife of his is Debra, one of the white girls.
What will it say about the record industry if Def Jam drops you, 10 albums deep, over a single word?
That starts a revolution. It sparks something within the hip-hop community, within the streets, within the people outside the streets. It raises an eyebrow to the situation, you know? Nobody wants to deal with the word “nigger,” because what comes with the word “nigger” is a whole history where you show so much injustice, and you show so much that has not been fixed yet. So it’s a scary thing. But it’s also uncomfortable when I’m dealing with it. Like, no one can tell me what to do. None of the black leaders, none of these motherfuckers, record companies, none of them can tell me what to do. Because you can’t stop what I want to do, you understand?
OK, on to your music. I’m not making this up: On the flight from New York, the person next to me asked why I was going to L.A. I said, “I’m interviewing Nas.” She said, and I paraphrase, “I like Nas, except when he rapped like he was a drug kingpin.”
Oh, that’s great, man. If you have a catalog, you go back to certain records guys did, and one record is for [one] crowd, another record is for another crowd. It shouldn’t all be the same thing; it should be all different dimensions of yourself. I was talking about coke on my first album because that’s what I was around. On the second album, you had to take it to the next level—that Escobar lifestyle with the hot shoes; a nigga was dressing up the way I always wanted to be. I kept it thorough with who I was. A lot of fans aren’t into gangster rap. They are going to listen to shit they like, and that’s cool.
Interesting indeed, but he’s starting to sound a tad bit out of pocket these days.

Damn U Chipsnhow!!!!
Nas sounds a fry short of a Happy Meal these days…
i don’t care what you do, nas. white america as a whole will not think deeply about the “N” word as you. they’ll just use it as an excuse to use it more, you ignorant *****!
top ten
I wish he would shut up. Every since his beef with Jay, and he came out the winner, he has not been able to shut up since. He learned from that that controversy is the way to go, and since he can’t get attention these days from dropping good music, he tries to say stuff that he thinks will get people talking. But in the end he sounds stupid.
this is all poison. we’ve not only grabbed the rope but now have made our own noose. these critques are naggers. very puesdo. where are the points. where are the solutions. i don’t need the soon to be $10 gas. lets hear those debates
Is it more or is Nas losing the plot fast, he is dissing the light skinned girl in flashed dance, but Kelis is HARDLY FULL BLACK?
When someone entitles his album, N*****, while he is living a cosy life, and we have to take the brunt of his selfish actions, and white people dont know if they are coming or going with the god damn offesive word….he can BOG OFF for all I care.
Nas is just out to poison young childrens minds, and that makes him a lyrical paedophile in my opinion!
Nas the winner lol.
who signed on to who? oh whose being slapped up. Roch boi’s in the building everynight! Oh what a feel’n
Yep he need some attention. I agree with him on Tiger and Cuba though.
I love NAS, he is one of my favorite rappers but I have to agree with Miss Goodstuff, although we (some black people) have different views of the N word – white people or any racist person – will now have an excuse to use it more. And this makes it seems as though it’s ok for a black person to be call a N*gga! I’m NOT ok with that!
@ miss goodstuff
Get off your high horse, black people use the “N” word more than anyone else. We’re responsible for taking the power of negativity from it. That’s why most people are growing more comfortable using it. Pandora’s box has been opened. Deal with it.
LOL @ AUNT VIV
WOW!! @ NAS
What was the point in telling Dog the bounty hunter or Fat Joe not to use it, if Nas labels his who album it?
How do we as black people gain respect when ignorant useless rich tired clapped out rappers insist on using it as they have nothing better to say?
Nas is a gimmick, cliche’s, boring, selfish, racist if you would ask me.
He is no better than taye diggs or Cuba in my opinion!

nope not sounding out of pocket at all.
OK…he said all that…but really said nothing at all…what was the point he was trying to make…I didn’t get it…
ALL THAT WEED HAS FINALLY TAKEN IT’S AFFECT !
GET-EM’ NASIR!
I love Nas!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nas is pathetic, but he is one of the best when it comes to promoting a below average album.
Because we all know the single will be nice and the rest is down hill.
SMH at him calling other’s “coonish” when he’s the one looking a like a damn fool. Using a racial epithet to sale records are we? SAD, SAD, SAD day for this thing called Hip Hop
And Nas………….*****ody would give a ish if you got dropped. He would just run to an independent label like the next wash-up.
Yeah Katie this all about promoting a bad tired ***** album, and getting stupid ***** children to give up their pocket money for it. No adult in their right mind what buy or believe this spewed up crap!
Was never a big fan, he has switched up his style every album since One Love. One minute he’s a street poet blessed with stories from the streets, next minute he’s a hard core thug from queens, next he’s a freedom fighter for Africa. This is exactly why Naz does not have the support of his people. If you compare him to Jay-z, Jay has never switched his game, he came into this game as a hustler and has stayed true ever since. Now he’s one of the biggest corporate hustlers in the game today and he’s still preaching the same game just on a different level.
I’m sorry but I can’t endorse Nas as he switches his beliefs as often as the weather changes!! Case in point The Firm, what was that ???
@soulwoman
Nas the winner…
What the f… Umm, I respectfully disagree Sis…
First, Nas said nothing but lies (for the most part) in his little jabs towards Jay-Z in Stillmatic & Ether and then he had no response and no come back after Jay dropped = Super Ugly…
And to add insult to injury, (as a few people stated above) Jay SIGNED Nas to HIS Record Company when HE was the President of Def Jam…
If you still wanna look at it your way (which is the wrong way) don’t just look at the little battle look at the war.
In the end who do you think the real winner is?
**By the way, I’m not trying to do the back & forth thing like them youngin’s be doing in the Rihanna & Beyonce threads – I’m not into doing that bulls#it over somebody who ain’t putting no money in my pocket…
Nas is one of my favorites rappers but he needs to stop straddling the fence. He has been doing that for quite a while. It’s almost as if he wants to be a positve force in the balck community, but not positive enough to lose his so called street credibility. This is why Nas has been second step to Big and Jay Z. He won’t decide who he really is and his indecisiveness has cost him the crown.
The Individual, Calm Hill
http://www.calmhill.com/blog
I’m not feeling the title either, but white people don’t have to have an excuse to call us the n-word. They do it whenever they feel like it with little consequence.
Nas said: “The first time I opened up a Superman comic book. The first time I saw Flashdance, with the light-skinned, beautiful *****”
Something about that sentence don’t sit well with me & like another poster pointed out his wife Kelis is mixed- so what is he saying????
Ya’ll need to stop hatin on this ***** and realize what it is he is trying to do. He is not hating on the light skinned sista, Cuba, or any of them other *****s cause they skin color or who they date. It what they do with that power… Cuba acts no where near as black as he is and I have even heard the brother refer to black people as “them people” and Taye has said some disrespectful things to why he doesn’t mess with black women.. This brother is standing up for his people instead of buying into the issue like some of the folks he meantioned. Hell that *****ed me off too when I heard, how these black stand up men turned away from there own. Nas ain’t havin that *****.. I understand what he is trying to do.. Not so much for this already fuc’d up generation of mine but for the younger kids..When the word has less meaning, it means nothing… So Yes I understand what this brother is doing and I applaud him for doing it. My blacks folks need to get educated!! and stop hatin.. The new war is within our race. light vs dark…do u think that was created for us or it just happened..Don’t think it just happened!! We hate our own but praise others..thats not right
A dumb nicca commenting on some more dumb niccas. It never ends.
I think Nas lying a little bit…just a coincidence all the the guys he named in “Heroes” have white women? And the Tiger Woods/lynch incident occured years after that song came out. I think he’s realizing that he was a little out of order with that song.
WTF??? Has been smoking on that Oooh-wee? He makes absolutely no sense. I don’t know where his head is at these days. Right now he needs to STFU until he can figure out why he is making this CD.
Its become the in-thing to hate on Nas. U just got the release of the Kwame Kilpatrick text messages that was filled with the N word, but you people wanna pretend like the word isn’t used. Nas ain’t speaking a foreign language people. Its mainly a bunch of old heads on here hating. And stop caring so much about what white people think of black culture. They don’t sit around and say to each other “I wonder what black people gonna think”.
I beleive in everybody in america has the freedom of expression I think Nas is a great artist if you dont like it dont buy it or as hov says you can press past forward lol
I swear some of you are all kinds of dumb lol but it makes for a good laugh.
He’s not dissing the actress in flashdance. He’s saying how this black actress had to chase a white guy on film. Meaning as a child he didn’t like the idea of a black woman chasing behind a white guy.
Actually LA Reid signed Nas to a deal at Def Jam. The label that LA Reid has been running since he lost Arista back in 2004. LA being there is why Nas wanted to sign & leave SONY.
& I’m sure Nas isn’t trying to be a “positive black role model” lol he’s just a black man who uses his music to speak his *****. Some people write books, some give speeches, he uses music. He said in that interview people look too deeply, he’s just stating how he feels.
All of you who are dissing Nas needs to shut the hell up. I never, and I mean never reply to these things but you guys have *****ed me off!!! Nas maybe an INTJ if any of you dumb jerks knows what that is. How dare you say he is out of touch. You broke *****’s cant reach a whole generation of people but he can and your saying that he losing it.
Instaed of beefing with another rapper he is beefing with America and racism which we all should be. I guess you’d rather have him beef with Jay again. The Jewish, italian and all other races that have dominated in one era or another have always stuck together throughout all types of problems. All of you say Pac and Biggie should have squashed the beef, but when Jay and Nas do it it is fake or something. Somethngs dead!! Hip hop, this generation, or something.
I have wasted time getting money writing this thats why you dont hear from me or I never write. I might be back. Dont say nothing else about NAS either!!!
finally someone who gets it.. RumRaisin good points
You guys are WAY off point. Nas is spitting real, adult, worldly game and some of you just can’t keep up. Don’t be simple, now.
@Keysha E.
You’ve got that right. Nas has really lost the plot.
I think Nas and a lot of people need to go and watch The Boondocks, Season 2 Episode Episode 11 – The S word. The social commentary behind that one gets the message right across.
The Black Katie Couric, you name says it all!!! Thats sad….You wanna be the black white woman!! You prove half of nas point… looks whats going on with our race
LMAO@HomoMafia recommending Boondocks of all things
UN_F’N_real. go lay down somewhere
People fail to realize that ***** Gregory had a book of the same name (look t up). He was comedian and a civil rights activist and if u read the ook he had a strong message about he dealt with being labeled as such and obstacles to overcome. If u look at the title u may take offense but if u take the time to read it u would get the reason behind this great story. I think that we need to take the same approach with Nas. Let’s forget the title of his album, when it does come out let’s c if there is a bigger MESSAGE in his words.
nas is a ture artist
he talk real, his music is not about the material
things, he kick knowledge and sense , unlike jayz and the rest of them …all bling this and bling that..nas keep keeping it real
and black be easy ….stop make everything to be racism ….let live in harmony and peace with each other …
I agree with RumRaisin. I think Nas was commenting on the mentality behind the interracial relationships he was mentioning. The flash dance incident is screwed up b/c the actress was cast as this tragic mulatto chasing m*****ah. Tiger Woods IS coonish… and now even as ms. blonde nanny is cleaning him out I bet he STILL doesn’t get it. Its the mindset behind ppl like Tiger, Taye, and Cuba (and COUNTLESS other black people) that having a white counterpart on your arm is a sign of accomplishment. That is not love. It is coonery.
@ Tracey
When someone entitles his album, N*****, while he is living a cosy life, and we have to take the brunt of his selfish actions.
——————————–
STANDING OVATION. Isnt this the equivalent of rappers talking about how hard they are…how they will rob/shank/kill a person, and are currently living the 90210 lifestyle. I thought rappers were supposed to “keep it real” SMDH
How can you say you like interracial marriages and then blast people that marry interracially. Get over yourself Nas. His album sound weak to me, and so does his “message.” He doesn’t even have a real message. Oh well, good luck to him. At the end of the day, he is just another brother trying to make a living, and I can’t fault him.
his album says nagger. dah. backwards its saying san nagger. he trying to upset the m*****es. calm down. yahll
@Rod
For starters, do you know the genius that is Aaron McGruder? Whatever the case is, the message was there loud and clear.
“The problem with restraining speech is, who gets to set the rules? If it’s only ok in a certain time and place, who gets to say what time and what place? Bill Cosby?”
If you choose to see only to scratch the surface with the boondocks, then that’s your choice, but the messages are there.
@ Wondering: Tru dat
Nas, whether you agree with him or not, is getting the attention and publicity he wants to help sell records. I can’t knock his hustle: Mission accomplished.
Why is there just blacks on this page?
TRACEY and AOKI,
Please read the light skinned chick quote again. His issue is with her pining over the white guy, not the fact that Jennifer Beals is bi-racial.
Come on, you two are better than that.
Hottest Rap/dude out forever!
@Reading-
I know what Nas was talking about! Flashdance, Lol I never said anything about Jennifer Beals so maybe you need to re-read what I wrote SMH
Reading Sure Is Fundamental!!!
im just ready for the damn cd to drop, all this hyping it up, and it might not even be about *****!!! is the “*****” even signed to a label…. this is just drama, i like him but yes drama!!
@Homomafia
my point is… you’re telling me to look at a different form of entertainment to discount the other. Are freakin serious??
Look, I roll with Nas musically. People tolerate the word in every song in hip hop. But when attention is brought on the word itself, then there is an uproar. And the ladies truly disappoint me in this comment section. Your beef with Hip Hop and Nas’ message should be off the radar the way you are demeaned in music by the Jeezy’s and lil Wayne’s of the world.
If you all were really smart you’d peep how Nas refers black females as “*****es” & white females as “women” & “ladies”
@ Aoki Lee
I didn’t even notice that at first… which is not good. I dunno if Nas is being real or just pulling a Kanye (stirring controversy to sell albums… then conveniently forgetting the “message”).
BUT I still agree on the coonery. Particularly Tiger’s whack *****. A friend of 12 years says you should be lynched (on a live broadcast) and ur wife goes gold-digger on you… and you STILL taking up for them…??? Craziness. Btw, what multi-millionare marries a nanny anyway?
and why are my comments being blocked?
Well, I heard the 1st single. It is weak. I need Nas to come harder. I want to like his music, but he has been slacking lately. That last album was tired.
Whats up with the news on Barack and Pator Wright? Thats what I really want to talk about!
I love interracial relationships!!!
also, his interview doesn’t even make sense!
Smoke Much?
I have to ride with Nas on this one!!
function c2c_no_duplicate_comments ( $comment_text )
Bossip this code annoys me, it blocks my comments!
Nas is a wack boring artist.
and blacks do not use the work the most
these copy cat spanish people do.
if u dont believe me..u dont live
around many.
Nas needs to take a good hard look at himself before casting stones at Taye, Tiger or Cuba. Nas is nothing but a puppet minstrel with grandiose ideas about himself. His careless, self-serving use of the n-word doesn’t surprise me when he tosses around the word “b#%ch” in a blatantly misogynistic fashion. His lyrics only demonstrate how dangerous and destructive a little knowledge can be. This man is a disgrace and his song is desperate. I think Nas should use some of his stacks to go back to school, wash out his potty mouth and start making sense.
Something isn’t right with nas anymore. He has DEEP ROOTED inferiority complex. Why do AA’s have this complex? Why do you care what white people think?
One more try.
Rod.
My point was not for you or others to discount Nas. I did not agree with certain points in that interview (it did not make too much sense) and I was merely highlighting that particular boondocks episode to reflect what goes on here sometimes.
But, Point taken. I will wait and sample the whole album before I make my final judgement, I can give that to him. The pros and cons are there, but my fear is that the cons will truly outweigh the pros on this one.
“The problem with restraining speech is, who gets to set the rules? If it’s only ok in a certain time and place, who gets to say what time and what place? Bill Cosby?”
Who is who to say it’s ok for a book title but not an album?
Also you morons writing posts about Jennifer Beals being cast as a tragic mulatto chasing m*****a need to pull your heads out of your behinds because the role was originally meant for Demi Moore. .Stop projecting your own issues already.
Shame…shame…shame…my black people don’t have any fight or revolutionism in them any more. I understood exactly what Nas was saying. Like I tell kids and adults – I’ve done my research into african history and it’s disregarded civilization’s. I know who I am as a person and as a decendent of the african populus. There isn’t a word out there that can hurt me. Now ACTIONS are something to be focused on. As one of the few on here that fully comprehends what he is doing he has my support. And like somebody said on here…who cares what another race thinks. When I encounter a person I interact with them indiscriminately no matter the race. I let them either build themselves up or tear themselves down (I think when people think outside of race is when true change will come). I’m not pressed for anybody’s acceptance or affiliation. Lead don’t follow.
I LOVE NASTY NAS WITH HIS SEXY ***** HE IS DEFINITELY HALF MAN HALF AMAZING
We’ve been trying to prove ourselves for 400+ years to another race; worrying about how they perceive us. Don’t you think it’s time we stop??
@ Divalicious
Calm your silly ***** down. Flashdance, like most other films depicting interrracial love (e.g. Monster’s Ball and a whole host of Dorothy Dangridge cl*****ics) often depict the pretty black mulatto as desperate for the old creepy white guy.
Even when the gender roles and racial composition changes, the dynamic is the same. If you’ve seen Crazy/Beautiful you’ll remember that was a love story about a hispanic boy and white girl who he chases behind like a whipped puppy while she ruins his future. The brown person kisses the white person’s *****.

circa-81 just spit the truth just about ended this comment section. no other opinions are now needed PROPS!!
Anyone who has suffered racism can identify with nas ,he is a smart brother and knows exactly what he is doing.I agree with him and support him and now is the best time for all this to come out,This country is racist and has always been.It’s time they call it what it is and this country has made blacks suffer long enough, time has come to show we can make it with out them and heal and help each other. Nothing he says or Rev. Wright says is a lie .America is scared to hear the truth and it’s time people tell it, so are kids know what type of history we really had. Nas May ALLAH bless you..good work.
WTF is this ***** talking about? Everything he said is a contradiction.
And please take off that stupid shirt, youre only wearing it to garner publicity for your new album.
He is so self-absorbed it’s not funny.
I tried to feel him, but here’s another rapper pointing the finger & ranting w/o thought because somebody has a mic in their face.
Camera’s on…let’s coon & shine.
He’s an entertainer first and he’s just as guilty as the others he mentioned.
I’m going to wear a shirt that says “N*gg*r Woman” and see what happens.
People need to realize when they try to be too deep they end up sounding shallow.
I’m going to wear a shirt that says “N*gg*r Woman” and see what happens.
…Kelis is going to pull it off of me and start doing that stupid Milkshake dance. By the way – hated Bossy.
I am outraged by this fool’s comments. Black people have been opressed for years by these disparaging terms that he is using to describe people of his own race and women. I do not condone his actions. I use to like his music but I will no longer support this kind of retoric. He is physcologically brainwashed. His lack of intelligence is baffling to me. I hope his record label drops him so he can ride off into the sunset. he is an embarresment and disgrace to black people.
I suffer from racism all time when I go shopping and the clerks follow me around the store as if I am going to steal. I would never call another black person C**n or N**ga because that is the term racist use to describe myself. There isn’t anything positive about these terms. Alot of racists get on BOSSIP.COM everday and type these words on their computer to infuriate us. What is Nas thinking? He is only gaining the racist approval. They are watching this man and laughing, while at the same time despising the black race. Why give him a forum to disgrace himself and us. He does not speak for the black race and he should be ignored.
Love me some Nas but not really feeling this interview. I mean he is sounding a little lost with his explanations….I Mean seriously…that is the first time he was discriminated against because he was Black? He was watching a movie and it discriminated him by showing a light skinned black woman in love with a white guy? I guess before that he’d never heard of the TONS of blaxploitation movies with Black men chasing down white women….
I also don’t really get his reasoning behind the diss of taye diggs, cuba, tiger etc.
None of the ***** he said made sense.
Why is he contradicting himself? Is he in favor or interracial relationships or not? He makes no sense and should hire someone to speak for him.
please read the hat and shirt together..idk why i find this ensemble hilarious
i hate that damn shirt
@bree, I’ve been meaning to ask…how do you bold your text? Hmmm, are you a Bossip insider? LOL, or maybe I’m just that technologically challenged…:-)
i went to see Street kings (very good movie with Common, The game and keanu reeves). And guess what, at the beginning, there were some asians people that belong to the mafia and they called Keanu “*****”.
????????????? What, since when asian people called themselves *****???!!!
@ RumRaisin, Well said…..
He says he doesn’t know who Taye Diggs wife is, but he knows ALL SEVEN of Richard Pryor’s exes well enough 2 say Debra, 1 of the white one’s, was his favorite? Dude even said “I can’t remember what Taye Diggs did”…..but he’s a coon? At least he could support his opinions on Cuba and Tiger, but damn, bruh……
Pick what side of the fence ur on!
Since artists are nothing but marketing/strategists get together and create an image , that they believe will sell to the public; i no longer fall trapped into believing anything an entertainer has to say. The words that artists speak, have most likely been pre-screened by handlers from A&R Departments that has been had selected by record execs who get focus groups to say what they like and dislike, so this whole rebel with a cause , is so transparent.
And I can understand where Nas is coming from, in terms of Debbie, Pyror’s wife. This woman really loved Pyror. Although,divorce, she was the one who stepped up and made sure his estate, his medical issues, everything was taken care of. When he suffering. So, all this he married a white woman, but she helped him, when he needed it.
I don’t get how some people are going waaaay into left field with this. He NEVER said his problem with any of these men was their white wives. Why would he knock that when his wife’s mother isn’t black? lol
Some of you must have a hard time listening to Cornell West and Mike E. Dyson, b/c if you can’t figure out that simple ***** Nas is saying. There’s no way your minds can handle some real dialogue.
I think Bossip should just stick to posting about bad weaves and fake butts and whose sleeping with whom lol b/c clearly readers can’t handle much more.
Back to the drawing board NAS!
Isn’t Nas father Puerto Rican?
@ soulwoman you hit it right on the nose. I wish he would shut up too.
At least he knows the truth. He is a damn n!gger.
@ Jacob
I couldn’t have said it better. Preach on Brutha!!!
Bohwe

Wow! I guess I didn’t know the whole story on Richard Pryor. Good thing I didn’t feel an overriding need 2 call him out in a song.
…and I guess SMDH is back with a new ID.

I agree, he never said that! The same thing with alicia keys!
ok negroes, the point NAS was making when he said
“the light-skinned, beautiful ***** who’s chasing after some white cat, which…”
is that the woman in films that were black were light skinned and always ran after white men… Not that he has a problem with interacial relationships – but that was a stereotype..
Also, Kelis being light skinned had nothing to do with that statement. He wasn’t dissing light skin women. Learn to read and make accurate inferrences.
~~~~~~
Tracey
Is it more or is Nas losing the plot fast, he is dissing the light skinned girl in flashed dance, but Kelis is HARDLY FULL BLACK?
A lot of what he said is real inconsistent. Why the hell u need to open a forum on the N word? Why u walking around w/ the word on a damn tee shirt? MLK must be doing summer saults in this grave. This some real reckless *****. What person in America white or black do not have a perspective on the history of the term? Nas is looking for camera time. His music stop selling and he’s looking for a way to stay relevant.
How can u admire a man married 7 times? he lost me there. I really hope he explained in that article.
How the heck is Nas to be compared to Cornel West with what he said above. That is not a correct comparison. Nas in THIS INTERVIEW is being a hypocrit. Why is it okay for Richard Pryor (who used to use the word ***** like people drink water) to be married to and chasing a white woman IN REAL LIFE but he only feels OFFENDED when seeing a pretty light skinned Black woman in a damn MOVIE going after a white guy. It is one sided and nothing about it is profound.
@ realwoman
well said and i cosign 1000%
this album just betta b betta than that joke he called ‘hip hop is dead’
Nas is clearly an idiot.
@ Aoki Lee
If you all were really smart you’d peep how Nas refers black females as “*****es” & white females as “women” & “ladies”
——————————————
Can a rapper that calls black women “******s” and white women “ladies” really have the common sense to educate the m*****es about the N word…or even have the power to take away the meaning of the N word??? I usually refrain from mentioning “self hate” on blogs but those quotes speak volumes.
See what drugs and an 8th grade education can get you?
The next meaningful contribution Nas makes to Black people on an intellectual level will be his first.
Y’all in support of Nas are simply too used to drinking dirty water and wouldn’t know the good stuff if it splashed you in the face…you have no reference point.
Try picking up a book by W.E.B. DuBois and THEN come back and try to tell me Nas is “dropping knowledge” or speaking “the truth.”
Only an idiot, in true ignorance of intellectual truth relating Black people would think Nas is either enlightening or empowering. It’s not really even subject to debate.
SERIOUSLY I STILL DON’T UNDERSTAND UP TILL NOW HIS POINT
@ HomoMafia
For starters, do you know the genius that is Aaron McGruder? If you choose to see only to scratch the surface with the boondocks, then that’s your choice, but the messages are there.
——————————————-
How can you seriously compare The Boondocks to Nas’ attempt to sell records?
Will YOU feel differently about a white person calling you a “nigg*r” after this ablum comes out? You cannot take the meaning out of any word. Please view the example.
BIT*H:
technical def – female dog
widespread world def – rude loud mouth female
NIGG*R:
techical def – ignorant person
widespread world def – black people
BTW, have you guys ever heard of the “BLUE COLLARED COMEDY?” Basically 4 white guys talk about what it is to be a redneck and mention the word “honk*y” several times. Now I’ve watched this program and enjoyed their show but I have NEVER had the desire to call a white person that nasty word. Why do black people have to be ok with being called “nigg*er” when no other culture is demonize in such a manner?
ACTUALLY, being able to say the N word EMPOWERS white people rather than make them respect or even understand blacks.
EXAMPLE: My boyfriend plays “Call of Duty” sometimes and HE told me 90% of the time, once they hear his voice the N word starts to come out. JUST BY HEARING HIS VOICE!!! Why dont they mention that word more often (face to face)…Is it that these type of people dont feel EMPOWERED to do so???
BOTTOMLINE: Respect is respect. And if I can respect any white person enough to not call them names, they can do the same! Im out.
Richard Pryors ex wife Deborah is black
Nas said: “The first time I opened up a Superman comic book. The first time I saw Flashdance, with the light-skinned, beautiful *****”
Something about that sentence don’t sit well with me & like another poster pointed out his wife Kelis is mixed- so what is he saying????
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I think the phrase y’all missing about this statement was “chasing after”. The flick was about a young woman who needed/used hiphop to define herself but abandons the black culture that got her there ‘chasing after’ the white boy.
What’s he smokin?
AND HE SOUNDS DUMB AS HELL IN THE INTERVIEW BTW
Nas has been acting like a real donkey. I think it’s that crackhead wife of his
Nas is a talented intelligent brother that t-shirt notwithstanding.
Nas sounds as if he’s indecisive about what point he was trying to make.
@ Octavia
Calm your silly ***** down. Flashdance, like most other films depicting interrracial love (e.g. Monster’s Ball and a whole host of Dorothy Dangridge cl*****ics) often depict the pretty black mulatto as desperate for the old creepy white guy.
Even when the gender roles and racial composition changes, the dynamic is the same
—————————————————
Wow. Divalicious’ point, and I thought this was pretty obvious from watching the movie, is that character which Jennifer Beals played is neither specifically black or *mixed* (which is why Demi Moore was considered for the role)– the part is effectively white and any supposed ‘tragic mulatto’ figure or ‘interacial relationship’ aspects are simply your projections. Most white people don’t even *realise* that Beals is biracial (hence the p*****ing for white in ‘Devil in A Blue Dress’).
this is funny
test
im not saying that i agree with everything nas says but we need people to speak on these racial issues.
i love nas keep doin what u doin
AGREES HIGHLY WITH JAMDOWN. & SOULWOMAN.
MOST OF THE COMMENTS ARE ON POINT AS WELL AND TRUTHFULL…WE HAVE TO AS A NATION AND GENERATION, STOP SUPPORTIN THESE FOOLISH RAPPERS JUST SO THEY CAN BUY DUMB SHH…LIKE TO MUCH WEED AND CHAINS…JUST TO PROMOTE DUMB SHH TO OUR YOUTH THAT WILL ALSO, BE OUR NEXT GENERATION…AS YOU CAN SEE & HEAR, MOST OF THE COMMERICAL AND MEDIOCRE MUSIC IS BECOMIN ALMOST AS WORSE AS DRUGS….THE EFFECT TO ONES MIND BY CONSUMIN TOO MUCH CAN BE DEADLY. AND COSTLY. ON A NEGATIVE NOTE. ITS TIME TO STAND UP MY PPL(EPECIALLY AFRICAN AMERICAN) COME TOGETHER CONFIDENTLY AND UNCONDITIONALLY. BE FEARLESS FOR WHATS RIGHT. AND CORRECT.
Jennifer Beals is mixed?
I always *****umed she was a tan white girl or an italian.
TO CONSIDER ONESELF A NAME THAT WAS GIVEN TO A WHOLE GENERATION OF AFRICANS TO INSULT, DISGRACE, CHANGE AND DOMINATE NEGATIVELY IS ONE OF THE MOST STUPIDEST AND MOST IGNORANT TO OBNOXIOUS THING ANYONE CAN CONSIDER AND PROUDLY REPRESENT. THAT IS NOT THINKIN HIGHLY BUT ULTIMATELY LOW…WHATEVER NAS IS TRYIN TO DO WILL CONSEQUENTLY COST AND THOSE WHO FOLLOW NEGATIVELY… AS MUCH RESPECT I HAD FOR NAS FOR BEIN A BLACK RAPPER AND SPEAKIN MORE TRUTH, KNOWLEDGE AND WISDOM IN HIS MUSIC THEN MOST RAPPERS…UNFORTUNATELY IS LOST. OUR ANSCETORS THAT BEEN THROUGH HELL AND FOUGHT TO DESTROY THAT WORD AND BE RESPECTED FOR WHAT WE ARE AND TO BE CALLED THE NAME OUR BIRTH MOTHERS GIVEN US, AND TO BURY ITS POWERFUL EFFECT TOWARDS BLACKS AND THE TRAGEDY DUE TO THAT ONE WORD SO MANY PAINFULLY EXPERIENCE, DESEREVE BETTER RESPECT THAN AN IGNORANT BLACK MAN PROUDLY REPRESNETIN FOR ATTENTION FAME AND MONEY. THAT IS THE WORK OF THE DEVIL. AND NAS BETTER CHOOSE THE BETTER BOSS B4 HE BECOMES FIRED.
On a lighter note, College Hill was really good and dramatic tonight.
Nas, Debra Pryor is Black.
Now you see what i am saying, some racist person posted N**** suck, at least he know the truth he is a ni**er. This is exactly my point in my earlier post. What positive outcome can this bring by labeling black people these derogatory terms? These black people who are agreeing with these statements are ignorant as well. He is making himself look foolish. He wants to make money by stiring up contoversy. This will stifle his carreer. I lost all respect for him and will throw away his c.d. that I purchased in 1996. He is a disgrace to the human race. He knows that most black people are outraged by his ignorance and he continues to disgrace himself. Def jam should drop him from their label as an artist and this trash shuld never make the airwaves or on shelves at the music store. I hate to think of my daughters coming home singing any tunes thinking she is a N***. I agree with LOVETOBE ME. This is the works of the enemy. He is a parrot for the Devil and He should never be allowed to record another album. This is a slap in the face to black people. He then goes on to degrade women and call us the B word. I will not listen to his wife either because she is married to this foolish possesed individual and goes along with the trash he is spewing, because she wore the shirt to the grammy’s as well. They both should burn these shirts and hold thier heads in shame.
…..
Looks like i have to type this over. Nas can do whatever he wishes to do with his album as long as he’s comfortable with the choices he make. That goes for all of us. If you say the “n” word (hate calling it that…grrr) that’s your choice. If you say it doesn’t mean that you’re going to go to “hell” just like being for black pride, peace, power and unity doesn’t mean that you’re going to get into “heaven”…we don’t know. All of us have said things about women, men ..people who have crossed us that may have been wrong. Now think about if you’ve used the ni**a or bi*ch in reference to another black person because of how they acted…are you wrong? did you break the golden black rule? The thing is that we do give words power and black people have made it quite clear through protests etc. how you can take power away from a certain word but…does that stop the word from existing..no does that stop what it was known for..no CAN THE VIEW OF IT BE CHANGED…YES. BY THE WAY IF A WHITE PERSON DECIDE TO USE THE “N” WORD THEN THAT’S ON THEM…AFTER ALL WE WOULDN’T KNOW ABOUT UNLESS THEY USED IT FIRST.
“FOR A N*GGA THAT SAYS N*GGA ALOT, THAT N*GGA SAYS N*GGA”- QUOTED FROM A SKIT ON THE CHAPPELLE SHOW…YOU KNOW WHO GO ON MY LIST “FOR A N*GGA THAT SAYS N*GGA ALOT, THAT N*GGA SAYS N*GGA”…AL SHARPTON, JESSE JACKSON, OPRAH, YOUR PASTOR…THE LIST GOES ON…LOL IT’S A WORD. I WATCHED A COMEDY SPECIAL WITH WHOOPI AND SHE WAS TALKING ABOUT N*GGA AND COMPARING IT TO THE WORD STUPID WHICH I AGREE WITH HER AND THINK DOES MORE DAMAGE TO PEOPLE OF ALL AGES. EVERYONE ON HERE MIGHT NOT HAVE A HAD A SITUATION WHERE THEY WERE CALLED N*GGA AND PROBABLY COULDN’T VIVIDLY REMEMBER IT BECAUSE SO MUCH HAVING TO DO WITH THAT WORD IS FORCED DOWN OUT THROATS EVERYDAY…BUT WE ALL CAN REMEMBER BEING CALLED STUPID OR DUMB…THINK ABOUT THAT….
Truthbetold…respectfully you’re QUITE wrong.
It’s not the WORD that has power, it’s the history that is represented by the word. It’s the slavery, segregation and humiliation connected with the word. Common sense demands separation from it, not embrace of it.
It’s why Jews don’t sell CDs with “Kike” as the title or where “Kike” T-Shirts or try to merchandise “Kike” as Damon Wayans tried with “*****.”
It’s why Asians don’t spend time debating the importance of fruitless endeavors, they DEMAND education as a priority in the household and not look to entertainers with 8th grade educations as “role models.”
It’s why Latino immigrants are coming to this country and moving up the socioeconomic ladder quicker than the African-Americans who’ve been here for 400 years longer and have English as their birth language…it’s called self-determination and progress, not regression.
The very fact that people want to “debate” the merits of “*****” and “Bytch” only adds more revolutions to these endless circles of ignorance.
It’s like stepping over dollars to pick up pennies. We’d rather argue the “merits” of ***** and such instead of using common sense and pursuing worthwhile endeavors. The majority of Hip-hop tells us to call each other *****s, women Bytches, buy rims and drink alcohol all day, all night with an occasional weed break.
In the meantime, everybody else is concentrating on developing long term financial plans, getting an education and moving out of their momma’s basement.
It’s time we got with the program. Stop drinking dirty water.
THIS MAN IS NO INTELLECTUAL. MUSIC IS SUPPOSE TO BE UPLIFTING, NOT CONTROVERSIAL. HE HAS A DAUGHTER AND HE IS REFERING TO WOMEN AS B****. THE N WORD HAS BEEN USED WHILE OUR ANCESTORS WERE LYNCHED, SHACKLED, WHIPPED, RAPED,SPAT ON, CHASED DOWN WITH HOUNDS, AND SPRAYED WITH WATER HOSES. THIS IS HATE SPEECH. HE ALSO GOES ON TO USE THE WORD CO*N, SOMETHING OTHER RACES USE TO DESCRIBE US BECAUSE THEY LOATH US. THE N WORD WILL ALWAYS BE A NEGATIVE WORD. WHY DEVALUE AND DEGRADE ONE SELF TO MAKE A POINT? THERE WILL ALWAYS BE MEAN SPIRITED RACISTS. IT SERVES NO PURPOSE TO JOIN FORCES WITH THEM BY INDULGING IN THE SAME HATE SPEECH THAT THEY USE.
The N-word is the ONLY derogatory term you can hear ALL day EVERY day, all around the world! And that is from our own mouths! And some of you think the negativity has been taken out of the word? That we OWN the word? I don’t agree and even if we did, what do we get out of owning the word? I don’t feel the need to address my friends or my enemies that way and would feel very disrespected if anyone, regardless of color, addressed me in that manner. How can we demand respect from anyone else when we don’t have it for ourselves?
And Jacob, “The new war is within our race. light vs dark”? You’re kidding right? That war has been going on since not too long after we got here. Right up there with the debate over “good hair”.
you made some valid points MOKELLY. Instead of progress black people are regressing. Every thing that our ancestors and black leaders have marched and died for are being mocked by this rapper Nas and his inflammatory speech. He does not even articulate himself well and uses profanity in every statement. A latino person would never call themselves a spic but they are quick to use the N word because of ignorant people such as Nas. We can’t stop this kind of ignorance within the black race. The only thing we can do is educate our youth. I refuse to allow my children to use these words and told them it is a curse and they are forbidden to use this term in my home or anywhere else.
I have mix feelings on this one, the word does not bother me cause I am far from ignorant, I like Nas and he was just answering questions. sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me
Nas is like school in the summertime. NO CL*****.
Please.
As long as he uses racial slurs that oppressors used to rob us of our dignity and “reclaim” them as if they can be legitimized, he’s guilty of coonery to the Nth degree.
STFU, Nas, and go read a book. Without pictures.
Ha Ha that is funny crooklyn.
Mo’Kelly, I couldn’t agree more!! We really need to get it together. At this rate, we are regressing not progressing and it is SOOOO sad!
It is true. black people have reached an all time high of ignorance. Instead of shackles on their feet it is their brains that are shackled. I refuse to join forces with racists and indulge in hate speech. Our children are idolizing false leaders such as these ignorant rappers named
Jay z, 50cent, Nas and many more. They legitimize all of these things that keep us opressed, by speaking of drugs, alcohol, booty calls,and violence.
The degradation of women should be despised not tolerated for profit.
The use of the N word should be abolished not used in everday speech. A white man 2 years ago beat a black man with a baseball bat and claimed on the witness stand that it was used as a term of endearment.
We should stop buying their records then they will have no choice but to change their lyrics and carry themselves in an appropriate manner.
so the dude who has the word n*gger written in bold on his shirt, is calling other people coons
uh ok
Nas has had 2 many MILKSHAkES!! lol
this is some bull*****
yall…n*gger aint no word. some illiterate f*cks who, when stealing folks from NIGER (nigh-jeer), Africa, foolishly thought the country was *****ounced NIG-ER…and was calling them folks N*GGER…and yall perpetuate the ignant b*ll*****. SMDH. N*gger is not a word or a nationality.
Futhermore, they use it to f*ck with u because now that they know, its like calling a mexican a cuban…yes they thought we were n*ggers because we came from NIGER and thats how they identified anyone with black skin regardless where ya came from cause it really didnt matter…but most of those slaves came from Niger…not NIG-GER…(say it with me…enunciate) NIGH-JEEEEER.
Dr. Dre is married to a white woman too.
People look to this IDIOT as if he’s some “enlightened being”.Frightening.
Nas is not the one that made that name up, he is just speaking on it, people are talking this black pride stuff it is time to stop talking about it and be about it, if Obama becomes President and I say if, do you think he fix problems that are hundreds of years old by his self no he needs our help, so instead all of this talking people can get these programs together for the youth etc and you get help with funds from your local Mayor and people donate all the time , so like I said dont talk about it,be about it good luck
I mean did he even properly answer the first question?
Q. Do you remember the first time you were discrimiated against because you were black?
A. The first time I opened up a Superman comic book. (Ok…why because Superman was white?)
The first time I saw Flashdance, with the light-skinned, beautiful ***** who’s chasing after some white cat, which…I don’t have nothing against interracial relationships—love ’em, actually. (why because she wasn’t chasing after a chocolate drop?)
His interview is madness. Nowhere do he rise to to levels of Dyson, West, Gregory, etc.
He may have some things he wants to get off his chest but he needs to do some extensive research anc get a viable platform or better yet a speech writer.
I don’t recall the Tiger Woods noose incident in its entirety but based on Nas’s view it appears that Tiger was being the bigger person which most certainly should have made the offender feel smaller. I’ll have to backtrack and look that all up.
Go head on N.E.R.D.
she said something like this about Tiger in order for someone to beat him they would have to take him to their back yard and hang him, I guess that means he is the best ,right so she say
Nas is truly a pathetic excuse for a human being.
umm just a white guy’s opinion, feel free to flame, but I respect him because he speaks his mind, unafraid of the reprocussions of his peers other groups or whatever, that is what a man is supposed to be all about and most of all he’s unapologetic about those views, do i always agree with his opinion – no, well im a white guy from canada so wtf do i know about the plight of an american black man/woman and the trials and tribulations he/she faces daily, people should stop rippin’ his opinions and formulate some of their own and spread their ideas instead of just waiting to lay the hate on the next person with a strong sense of self, toodles
The album that Nas is making is about Nas…Nasir Jones…Esco…whoever he wants to be.
He’s so stupid…he sounds so stupid and unprepared.
I just keep seeing him & Kelis w/those stupid outfits on…bad marketing at its finest.
I won’t go into detail and *****yze what he said because he obviously didn’t think before he said it. He’s slow, stupid & wants to sell some albums.
Who is he? Come on. Dummy.
I’m not even trying to read too far into what he said.
*Then next week he and Kelis will be in a mag talking about how they’re bored w/fashion….(almost makes me want to say “N*gg*r please!”
*Then next week he and Kelis will be in a mag talking about how they’re bored w/fashion….(almost makes me want to say “N*gg*r please!”
NAS please sit down your fifteen minutes of fame are up! Please turn off the lights and close the door on your way out.
NAS IS THE GREATES YOU HAVE TO ADMIT, HERE HE GOES AGAIN STIRRING UP AND INTELLECTUAL CONVERSATION BETWEEN US. HE REALLY HAS SOME OF GOING AT IT HARD, THAT’S HIS WHOLE PURPOSE. LIKE THEY SAY NAS = HALF MAN HALF AMAZING.
Brilliant brother. Nas is a brilliant brother.
How can you hate on someone trying to uplift they’re people. Please git it 2gether cuz it’s disgusting.
Carrying on about this n***** calling himself one. But here is another black man using the word ***** instead of word woman. One of several reasons why the N word will never go away. Nas is an ignorant pig.
@Mo Kelly
I see you came over from EUR WEB, to try and enlighten these fools, God Bless you but I doubt your message will get thur, But you did make great points.
1. Im black and would never dis another black in public infront of whites or blacks.
2. Nas is so smart, some of you cant hold all the knowledge in thought.
3. Nas is say what the rest of the world is not dark skin black women are very very very low on the wanted list. Its hard being a black and then to be women is even harder. Nas is looking at the world his daughter is growing up in.
Rum Raisin and Maxine couldn’t have said it better… the people who comment here are sooo dumb and coonish it sickens me..
California Pixie:
You must understand, those were the first times that HE (NAS) felt the discrimination… He wasn’t answering the question for anyone but himself… He had his personal reasons he felt the discrimination, which were not written in the interview, maybe he said more, maybe not… you gotta remember a journalist wrote what YOU are reading… they tend to leave things out, often because it goes over their head….
I can feel him because the first time eI opened a comic book, any one for that mater… I often wondered why there were NO BLACK PEOPLE??????
It made me feel a certain way….I started to draw my own heroes, mostly black, and it made me feel better… Now I’m an Art director and I can be my own hero, or maybe help uplift a youngster to see the light…
I feel you NAS, the majority of people are Mentally Blind Def and Dumb…
anyways…
I’m sure most of you have never REALLY listened to the POETRY that NAS says… The same way most of you would look at hieroglyphics as a bunch of graffiti on the walls….
SMH at you SAD Dumb Deaf and Blind people… I hope you all find knowledge wisdom and understanding before its too late…
hellno
You got issues, I can see it in the way you type….and your screen name… I can see you waving your sha-nay -nay finger right now twisting your neck around like a chicken…
You know damn well you have used the word ***** before…
You probably cursing me right now…
Man I cant stand Nas arrogant attitude and his new album! Man pay ya childsupport and cop a new attitude DUDE!! NEXTTTTTTTTTTT
@ FAY OY….
Not all spanish people used that term.. ur dum ***** doesnt live around all spanish people ( smh).. Yes i am guilty of usin the term but never in a deragoroty sense ( yes my mother has taught me better ).. but when the word is forced on u in every song on the radio … why be mad at me are u a Copy Cat for wearin grillz/callin women *****es/actin like a fake thug??????
If people would take half the time they did on the Net readin this bull***** to educate just one child … we can make a dent in the this world so full of ignorance … ( me included)
Come check out Episode II of BEING eddie BLACK! It’s only 5 minutes long and a total crack up! Help Eddie walk the line of keeping it real and keeping it corporate…be sure to vote at the end of the show!
HEY MO’KELLY… SO BASICALLY IF THE HISTORY BEHIND A WORD GIVES IT POWER THEN IT’S NOT THE WORD ITSELF. SO THEREFORE PEOPLE CAN SAY IT TO MEAN ANYTHING DEPENDING ON WHO THEY SAY IT TO OR WHATEVER CONTEXT THEY WANT. PROVING MY POINT. IT’S A WORD JUST LIKE ANY OTHER WORD. NOW IF EVERYONE WANTS TO STAY ON THE SLAVERY TIP THEN YOU’LL NEVER BE FREE. LAST TIME I’VE CHECKED SLAVERY HAPPENED EVERYWHERE AND NOT JUST IN AMERICA. THERE ARE RACIAL TERMS/WORDS FOR EVERY RACE, SHAPE, COLOR, GENDER, SEXUALITY ETC. BUT BLACK FOLK MUST MAKE THE BIGGEST DEAL OUT OF ALL OF IT OVER A WORD…SO IF YOU AND THE REST OF THE WORLD WANT TO SAY N*GGA, SPIC, KIKE, GINNIE, *****, *****, HOE, *****, *****, CRACKER THEN THAT’S YOUR CHOICE…I’M NOT HERE TO TELL YOU WHAT YOU CAN OR CAN’T DO. REMEMBER IT’S NOT WHAT YOU SAY IT’S HOW YOU SAY BECAUSE IF N*GGA MEANT BEAUTIFUL EVERY BLACK PERSON WOULD BE SAYING AND WOULD BE MAD AT THE REST OF THE WORLD FOR NOT. SOMEONE HELP ME WITH MY SLAVE-TO-AFRICAN AMERICAN NAME CHANGE..PLEASE PUT THEM IN ORDER FOR ME…N*GGER, COON, NEGRO, JUNGLE BUNNY, PORCH MONKEY, N*GGA, COLORED, AFRO AMERICAN, AFRICAN AMERICAN, BLACK, BLACK AMERICAN, SLAVES….WHICH CAME FOR THE CHICKEN OR THE EGG? WOULD YOU BE MORE OFFENDED TO BE CALLED N*GGA OR COLORED? SEE THAT’S THE BACKWARDS THING ABOUT THIS RACE *****. IF A WHITE PERSON POINTS OUT A MAN IN A SITUATION IN WHICH HE HAS TO BE DESCRIPTIVE BY SAYING “THE BLACK MAN OVER THERE” …THE BLACK MAN IS OFFENDED BECAUSE HE WAS IDENTIFIED BY THE COLOR OF HIS SKIN (I’VE NEVER SEEN SOMEONE WITH BLACK SKIN…THINK ABOUT THAT) YET WANTS TO BE RESPECTED AS A BLACK MAN. IF A WHITE GUY LABELED HIMSELF AS A “STRONG WHITE MAN” THEN HE THINKS THAT HE’S SUPERIOR TO THE BLACK MAN. THIS ***** IS REALLY FOR THE BIRDS HASN’T SPIKE LEE TAUGHT YOU ALL ANYTHING. WE’RE ALL GOING TO HAVE A STRUGGLE OVER BEING DIFFERENT. WHETHER YOU’RE SHORT/TALL, FAT/SKINNY, GAY/STRAIGHT, BLACK/WHITE, BEAUTIFUL/UGLY, LONG HAIR/BALD, BIG TEETH/LITTLE GUMS …IT GOES ON AND ON AND THAT ***** WAS HERE BEFORE ME AND WILL BE HERE AFTER ME. I’M NOT GOING TO GET CAUGHT UP IN YOU OR ANYBODY GETTING CAUGHT UP IN THE PAST…LIVE RIGHT AND LOVE RIGHT…FREE WILL IS ALL THAT ***** INBETWEEN.
He is so full of crap! He used the word hoping for controversy to sell his album and want black people to buy it to stand for what? He is playing black people just to get paid. The word was, is and will always be offensive to the black community. Nas needs to go pimp someone else to sell his music and make money.
dutch…70% of hiphop and rap music is bought by white people.
on that note if he is just doing this to lure in people to by his album then what’s the difference from what everyone else is doing in the entertainment industry to make money. i’ve heard some of the titles from his up and coming album and him calling it ***** is not about people buying the album title alone…it’s about people hearing some real *****. i’m not a fan of anyone so i have a non-bias opinion on things. nas happens to be one of the artist that isn’t one dimensional. that’s not going to talk about getting hoes and shoting people while he’s living the life of faithful husband and father of the year (snoop, ice cube etc)…artist say and do things to sell music all the time. you have to figure out for yourself who pimped you…go through your music collection and THINK ABOUT THAT.
dum *****s critiscising nas u would rather have jay talk ***** because he has the money you critiscise nas 4 switching his styles during albums but a artist needs to do that 2 remain at the top 1994 aint the same as 2008 but he still has the same message of black unity or i lie?, look at madonna 4 example ***** switches her styles every 5 years, in order 4 her 2 remain relevant, jayz dont talk about black issues, all he talks about is money while the rest of his hood be broke and he aint helping them out with a message or his money., but yet u love him because youse a bunch of house negroes
