It is a feat unattained by any minority before him, and will set the bar for the behavior of minorities after him. His speeches about “hope” affected MILLIONS of people. And it is his ability to do that, that makes him qualified for a Nobel Peace Prize. I don’t understand why Obama is being blasted for this. Did he nominate and/or select for himself for this award? I am tired of people blamed for things that are completely out of their control.
Instead of blasting Obama, we need to take closer look at what the agenda was for nominating and awarding him with the Nobel Peace prize. Lately I’ve been hearing some interesting stuff, so I guess we’ll just have to see how it plays out.

It’s easy for people to say Obama has done nothing. Do you know what he took over from? The state of the country? He has so much to rebuild that anything he does will look small. He is trying. I disagree b/c

1. We as black people do not stick together enough. So to say that we should stop being protective in my opinion is telling us to be even more separate than we already are.

2. Asher has made many racist comments on his page about black people before thus in my opinion (NOT BASED OFF HIS STATEMENT ON OBAMA) he is racist and he is just as bad IF NOT WORST b/c he is using hip hop to foll black people so they can buy his album.

3. There is nothing wrong with being critical of Obama. I for one am a supporter and believed he deserved the Prize. However, if Obama does something I disagree with, I will state it, but I also have to remember that besides him being President he is human and WILL make mistakes. All Presidents have and he will not be the first to make some.

4. Obama did not nominate himself. Much like Ghadi and Mandela. They did not nominate themselves either. Why is it Obama’s fault that he won? Further as a Black American Woman I am proud that we have a president that IS WORKING TOWARDS PEACE. Further, many of the recipients of the Nobel peace prize won WHILE THEY WERE IN PROGRESS ON COMPLETING THERE PEACE GOALS.

5. Not everyone that speaks against Obama is racist. However, I assume you are black Ernest, you have to realize that many people did not want a black president and there have been and wll be many more displays of racism.

As blacks we need to be more supportive so I congratulate him instead of saying what he “didn’t deserve.” How about we try to get on his level as black people.

I don’t think that a person is a racist because they don’t agree with Pres. Obama. In my opinion republicans will disagree with him for many reason, the least of which have to do with the fact that they lost and cannot live with a democrat in the White House. However I have noticed that there are people who are unwilling to give him a chance. Instead of being proud of an American president receiving such a prestigious award and being happy for him, there is too much resentment and jealousy. There are so many forms of hatred in this country that I am never sure whether it is racism or not. I’ll be damned if I will let a white person decide for me what is or is not! Mr. Perfect says “Obama is a joke.” Is that a political assessment? Well politically speaking, there is no bigger joke than George W. Bush!!
