Why are black people so upset about this. We are acting like the racist white folks from the 60′s. We love it when one of ours is the first, but God forbid if a different race is the first in something we think black ppl should only be a part of. What if she was Latina or Asian? Would there be this much of an uproar? Black people grow up and stop being childish.

Leave the white girl alone. I notice when that white boy was crowned valedictorian at an HCBU a couple of years ago you black chicks was swooning in the aisles. BUT IF A CAUCASIAN COME TO A HBCU AND ACHIEVE, WE WENT BACK IN TIME. THAT’S A RACIST MENTALITY IN ITSELF! I FEEL THAT WE SHOULD BE EQUAL ACROSS THE BOARD! (I KNOW THAT’S PREACHING TO THE CHOIR) BUT BECAUSE WE HAVE TO PUSH EXTRA TO ACHIEVE ON THEIR SIDE OF THE STREET, THAT DOESN’T SAY THAT WE C A N ‘ T DO IT.
