The World is Not Enough

Posted by Bossip Staff

Diddy 505

Diddy wants to be the next big thing on the silver screen:

“‘I think that it’s important for me to mature and evolve as an artist,’ Combs [says] at the From Harlem to Hollywood! ceremony honoring his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. ‘I’m trying to get my Black Bruce Willis on.’ Despite being accustomed to A-list treatment, he’s looking forward to starting at the bottom of the acting totem pole. ‘I’m trying to get Michael Bay to shoot me, have a hot soundtrack,’ Combs said, ‘But I also realize I have a lot of work to do as an actor and I gotta prove myself.’”

He gets a Hollyweird Star before he works on developing improving his acting skills. Now ain’t that a b*tch. And what’s with the “Black Bruce Willis” ish? We could think of more than one successful black actor he can aspire to. We can’t knock the brotha’s ambition, but it sounds like he may need a reality check.

Y does everyone want to emulate YT people

  4. Birdfeather

First. Black Bruce Willis? sad aspirations

  5. amedat

Please Bossip, when did they develop any legitimate standards for a hollyweird star? See Ryan Seacrest.

Quit being hateful. An ambitious black man is swexy as hell. (temporary blindness to the “i refuse to make an honest woman out of kim” mentality).

  6. def

Oh, have heard of his name for long. But didn’t know himself. He did a great job in this. I know his affairs are warmly discussed at the dating club blackmatching.com. Many girls love it very much

  7. $m♥K.E.Y.

He can’t act! I don’t care who gets mad at me. They just put Puffs name

on a play bill on movie cause they know it will bring in the big numbers.

First the music industry slowly became infested with D-List artist who are exalted like LEGENDS

and now these fools want to desecrate the professionalism of acting.

  8. DanaDane

In my opinion, him and Heath Ledger were the best two actors in Monster’s Ball (big ups to Halle though on the award)…but Sanaa Lathan and Phylicia Rashad made him look better on Broadway… but why be Bruce Willis when you can be Denzel, or sidney Poitier, if he wants to be an action star, then be Samuel L. Jackson.

  9. lisabeller

    I think he would show off this palm to his gf 1st who he got to know via a rich club “m i l l i o n a i r e l o v e r . c o m” where the rich & celebrity have romance!

  10. mr mr

OK OK…I’m not the biggest Diddy fan, but I do have to inject some FACTS into this post…

The Hollywood Walk of Fame IS NOT just for acting. It recognizes accomplishments in RADIO, TV, FILM or MUSIC. If you have ever been to Hollywood and seen the stars on the sidewalk, you will notice that below each name is a small symbol for what the star is being honored for (i.e. a radio symbol, tv symbol, movie reel symbol, record symbol).

Diddy’s star is for MUSIC, NOT ACTING!

There are some stars that have multple stars on the walk (i.e. Barbara Striesand) for accomplishments across different genres (i.e. music and film).

Ryan Seacrest got his star for RADIO.

These are ONLY THE FACTS PEOPLE….

  11. Island_Ras23

Good job Diddy!!! He deserves it, people need to stop hatin!

  12. PIMP DADDY

    DIDDY SUCKED IN MONSTER.

  13. On the contrary, Diddy seems to be very much in touch w/reality. The fact that he admits he needs to work on his skills as an actor and needing to prove himself worthy of the title, means he knows what time it is. He’s an extraordinary man in a number of ways but he still seems to realize what his shortcomings are….it’s pretty cool to that honest w/yourself and others.

  14. Bree

    @ mr mr

    Tx for breaking it down.

  15. Just Sit and Be Pretty

Morning all, I think he did a great job acting in Monster’s Ball and A Raisin in the Sun and wish him luck with his acting career. LOL, he’s seems realistic in not going out and immediately expecting an Oscar. If he gets the right parts, and really develops his skill, he could do well.

@mr mr, thanks for clearing that up, um, Bossip you might want to rewrite your story in case readers view you all as less than informed. :-)

  16. jo

I think Puff said he wants to be Bruce Willis becauase they have been friends for some years now. I really don’t wanna see Puff act, hes not good at it. I wish he would put all this energy into music and find the next 112 or Biggie. When he actually ries hes a very good music producer.

I don’t understand why people are saying Diddy doesn’t deserve a star. It’s not just for actors. He is not the first person in the music world to get one. Diddy has contributed alot to the music industry; he deserve his star.

  19. Cage

Star or no star, that ***** still a HERB. No respect over here fam…..

Last week was rough, i had nothing nice to say lol…

    Happy Monday Peoples!!!!

  20. cat4everrr

good luck diddy i’m rooting for ya. it’s not like we go a whole lot of black actors in hollywood. we can use what ever we can get

  21. this ***** is a hott ***** mess, he aint all that in music but now has the audacity to say his goal is to know be the black bruce willis, not at all… puff! we would rather you finish your furniture line so i can get rid of my Coach Couch and see what sean combs furniture is working with, the last thing i want right now is to turn on my tv adn see his no acting ***** in die hard 5 with bruce in a wheel chair…. dont want to see it!!!!!!!!!!

  22. What is the nomination process for obtaining a star hollywood walk of fame? This is ridiculous money has bought this wack ***** a diploma, a not guilty verdict, and now a star, It is missing the mark Modesty and Cl*****! SAD

  23. Southern Swag

Congrats to Diddy on getting a star u deserve it. This man has put in a lot of hard work through out a lot of yrs so I feel he deserve it for all that he has done.

  24. YAHH!! TRICK!! YAHHHHH!!!

diddy is a beast. great job

  25. Why should he have to start at the bottom of the totem poll? 50, Eminem, LL, Will Smith, Queen Latifah and countless other didn’t. They started at the top with starring roles. I can accept Diddy as an actor and wouldn’t mind contributing to his success if gets good at it, which he hasn’t yet.

  26. Darth Paul

He’s no artist, though. He’s a marketer and a synthesizer at best.

  27. OneStep

    So undeserving.

  28. kena1908

Diddy is looking good, has he lost weight?

  29. as seen on t.v.

how much do those stars cost?….

  30. cherry
  31. me

i agree he did a god job in Monster’s Ball, and at leats he knows hwe needs some improvement, unlike other musicians turned actors who make a couple movies and have their hand out for a grammy lol i.e Mrs. Beyonce

  32. STEFANY

    Sorry Diddy,

Stick to your wack ***** producing and clothing, you suck as an actor and will never make it big on the big screen.

  33. Lou in the Chi

    @as seen on t.v

    I always love your gravies.

  34. as seen on t.v.

    thank you lou…

  35. prisseme

I like Puff. Puff should continue to do what he does best, music and entertainment. Let the ‘real’ actors practice their craft. It’s cool for him to make a few guest appearances, but I do not want to see him in movies and t.v. I like him as he is, a non-actor. He’s a business man.

  36. lovely and amazing

Nas called it. Hip Hop Is Dead, and Diddy knows it. So he’s going Hollywood and whether he can act or not he will succeed because his determination is is strength. If Vin Deisel can do the action hero, so can Diddy. Kim will ride this train to no end, smart or stupid, she’ll never let another woman take her “#1 baby mama” spot. Sara Chapman’s daughter Chance Chapman Combs is going to grow up to be a force to reckon with and Diddy will regret not including her. Watch.

  37. Coop

    @Bossip

Damn stop Hating. There was a time when Bruce was get 20 mil a film I think he means he wants to be that Bruce Willis.

  39. I'm Just Me

I am sorry…but I don’t know about Diddy. Man…he is a mess. He rapping skills suck, he groups/ artists (except the old ones BIG, Lox, 112) suck. The only thing he is good at is entrepenuership. I will give him that. Can’t he just sit down somewhere and take care of his kids or something? I am so tired of seeing his face and those wolverine teeth.

  40. Anywhoo

maybe he was born in Harlem, but dat boy from Mt. Vernon. ain’t hatin’ but he is one hot mess

  41. Happy Monday Cage… your lil daughter looks just like you….. I am not commenting on here today… last week was to crazy… too many name jackers and comment jackers… Bossip should have name p*****words!!!!!

  42. Anyhoo you must be from Mt. Vernon to know that!! LOL!

  43. Jack Tripper

    Dayum there goes the neighborhood.

I mean Denzel dont even have one…

  44. SMDH

Why is Bossip shocked at the “black Bruce Willis” comment??? Don’t tell me Bossip is the only blacks who don’t know just how bad the black male wants to be the white man, and have his goods and his women!! Look at how he considers success having a white woman on his arm.. I will maintain until the day I die that the black male wants to be the white man so bad – and is so envious of him – that it kills his soul!!

Puff is just willing to admit it, apparently!!

    SMDH!!!

  45. Sydney (the real one)

    @$moK.E.Y.

I concur with your statement,”He can’t act! I don’t care who gets mad at me. They just put Puffs name on a play bill on movie cause they know it will bring in the big numbers.”

I thought Diddy was the one, and only one, low point in “A Raisin in the Sun” when I saw it on Broadway, and I declined to watch the ABC version. I guess there is an upside to his ambition to get his “black Bruce Willis on” — at least he will stick to innocuous action flicks, and not put a damper on another African American cl*****ic. Maybe he can co-star with Willis in the next Die Hard sequel (if there is one)?

  46. WordzOfaProphet

SMH, y not try to be like Sidney Poiter or Morgan Freeman. Seriusly, the “Black Bruce Willis.” Y not just name a black actor???

Furthermore, I wouldn’t cast Diddy in ***** that I produced and I’m not hating. (Did u see A RAISIN N DA SUN??) That man destroyed a beautiful play with his bad acting *****, and he was FUGLY n his role. If you can’t hold that then please, the SILVER SCREEN is not the place for u.

  47. WordzOfaProphet

    @Syndey

U missed another horrible performance with the ABC version also. It was almost just as bad, if not worse, than his broadway performance. I was *****ed he was put on that cast, but he didn’t make the rest of them look bad, he just enhanced their lovely acting skills and thus further made him look horrid.

  48. Sydney (the real one)

    @WordsOfaProphet

I know, a friend of mine watched it and filled me in on the stomach-churning details. Actually, now that I think of it, I think Bruce Willis may be an apropos comparison for Diddy. He will never be another Sidney, Morgan, or Denzel. I’m just sorry that Diddy’s appearances in both the TV and Broadway versions of Lorraine Hansberry’s timeless play denied a true, trained actor the opportunity to flex his acting chops.

  49. Sydney (the real one)

    Sorry, I meant “WordzofaProphet!”

  50. Diddy needs to go sit down somewhere. Ugh!!!!

  51. Lou in the Chi

Let the man make his money. If you don’t like it, don’t see it. There are plenty of non-actors acting in Hollyweird.

  52. Celebrity CSI

Diddy is bigger than life….to himself. Why is he tryin’ to act? If anybody saw the televised special of “A Raisin in the Sun” then you already know this ***** ain’t got NO bidness behind the camera unless he’s the one yelling CUT! lol

  53. lovely and amazing

I did not know this. Sorry, don’t mean to hate. But it just doesn’t feel right to give props to Diddy when Denzel hasn’t yet been honored.

I would respect Diddy more as an aspiring actor if he told them he wouuld not accept the star before Denzel.

That’s like TI getting a star for his acting in ATL and Forest Whitaker not having one.

Something is a little off here.

  54. BrwnBeauty

I really don’t know what to say about any of this but how? I don’t wanna hate on Diddy but Angela B*****ett has just recently received hers.

Then on the other hand maybe he got it for his work and accomplishments in the music industry IDK!

  55. JAD

There are definitely a lot of black actors he can aspire to be like. Why Bruce Willis Diddy?? Get it together.

  56. Rocky

Several years ago Essence Magazine “For Today’s Black Woman” decided to give Puffy the Man of the Year Award. Mind you, this is a man who has had several children by two different women out of wedlock. Pimps his stable (you hear me!) of female artists like any hustler in the street and will not marry any of his baby mamas to legitimize his babies and he gets The Man of the Year Award? I friggin’ cancelled my subscription and haven’t been back since. Sure he’s a good businessman, but an example for the community? Hell no! God I miss me some Ozzie Davis!

  57. Jahpson

he was already in major movies (monsters ball) what is he talking about?

I guess he figures the rap thing isnt working. his groups use to be on and poppin back in the day, now only a couple of them are shooting.

Diddy just trying to move to other avenues. we can all safely *****ume its not for the money.

  58. SMDH

“There are definitely a lot of black actors he can aspire to be like. Why Bruce Willis Diddy?? Get it together.”

Because the black male has always aspired to be the white man and to live the white mans life…

  61. El Regalo

Why can’t he be the 1st Sean Combs instead of some other actor he is trying to emilate? I don’t see what the hype is about his acting skills or lack thereof. He is just a self promoter that is trying to make his mark in various fields before his popularity falls off. Also, if he wanted to compare himself to a white actor, he was better off saying George Clooney.

  62. Ghost

    Sorry Diddy,

Unless youplan on buying a movie studio and producing films that don’t make us look bad (WHose Your Caddy) or as thugs and get them properly promoted and in theaters. You won’t be the next anything.

It would be nice to a film about a black family not in the hood or a story about a black boy making it in the hood.

  63. Here'smyF*#&ing2cents

Sean Combs, Puffy, Diddy or whatever, is an excellent businessman. That’s it.

However, if it wasn’t for Biggie there would be no Diddy. As far acting, he has much skills as Donald Trump and Damon Dash , and they suck at acting too.

  64. who did’nt know you get a star for other things besides acting, duh, he needs acting cl*****es that would help, I like Bruce to but did he forget about Denzel, Will etc they are some hard working actors

  65. Trina Truthtella

That horseface can’t act. He can work as hard as he wants, no amount of work can compensate for sheer lack for talent. He bought his role in “A Raisin the Sun.” Real talk. The dude can’t produce a song without sampling and can’t rhyme a lick. Now he wants to act? Please. He needs to stick to the fashion design, the only thing he’s kinda sorta good at although it wouldn’t surprise me if someone else is doing that. Another thing he’s notorious for — taking credit for other people’s ingenuity. They allow it because he pays it.

  66. Trina Truthtella

    Co-sign, Rocky, CO-SIGN!

  67. Trina Truthtella

Hold up! Diddy got a star and Denzel don’t. Oh hell f*(k no. Now I’m convinced he bought that *****!

  68. camel's wife

Denzel has a star. Anyway the man who should have a freaking star is my husband Jay-Z. If he does not have one by the end of this year i am going to do some creole baton rogue agnes dereon voodoo magic.
