@ Dumb Jocks.. It’s funny how you say that if you have to wait for a Black man to marry you to have babies, then the Black race will stop existing, I guess implying that a Black man will never marry you. Where there’s a good black man, you’re more than likely going to find a good black woman right at his side. Good black men marry good black women, period.

If you actually feel that way, then go ahead and single-handedly save the black race and have as many out-of-wedlock babies as you want, but don’t complain when no one worth having wants to marry you then, is all I’m saying…

Some women in this situation get lucky and find a good man, but most don’t.

I just love how people get on here and get all self-righteous and s**t. In a perfect world, everyone would be “happily married with children”. In a perfect world, we wouldn’t have crazy mofo’s like this fool running around. But since we don’t live in a perfect world, S**T HAPPENS. I’m sure most of these babies that are born out of wedlock were not planned. It’s also a proven fact that ALL women, regardless of color, have these types of problems and then some with men that they are NOT MARRIED TO and have children by. “Baby Mama” and “Baby Daddy” drame are not “A Black Thing”. Any person that has children with a person that they’re not married to can potentially have this drama. It’s hard enough for married couples with children, for Christ’s sake…

I agree with Renee 100%. Women should take every precaution available to ensure that they don’t have a baby by a man that they don’t want to spend their life with. As I’m reading these posts, it’s amazing to me how many women are talking about their “baby’s father” not getting the kids to spend the night with him because of this. Whatever happened to having a child by your HUSBAND? Granted, “it takes two to tango”, but the woman has all the control in this type of situation. A woman with any type of sense does NOT have a baby by a man that she does not want to have a baby by. That’s a fact. Do yourself a favor and control who the father of your children are by marrying him first. If he’s not the marrying type, or doesn’t want to marry you, then don’t have any children by him. It’s as simple as that. It proven that married fathers, regardless of color, tend to stay in their children’s life and have a positive influence, even if things don’t work out between them and their spouses. That goes for BLACK married fathers as well, whether black women want to admit it or not.

One of the main criticisms I hear regarding black men is that they never want to take responsibility for their own actions, that they always want to blame someone else for their troubles in life.. The truth is, black women are guilty of that same thing. They are very good at blaming everyone else, from black men, to whites, to the so-called “anti-black women” society in general for the majority of their problems, not once considering that maybe some of the choices that they’ve made in life could have something to do with the life they’re in. Being an adult doesn’t mean that you’re gonna be perfect. It means that you accept responsibility for your own actions, and you keep it moving. You “man up”, or “woman up”, in this case.
