Rihanna should’ve concentrated more on modeling. She’s a beautiful girl that photographs well. However, her image may be edgy lately but when she sings, it’s sounds like she’s just trying to hard to fit in somewhere.

I strongly believe she is letting others influence her. At the same time, I don’t think they have her best interest at heart.

At the end of the day, it’s about money and how to market her for more of it.

Although I always feel that an artist’s longevity is not guaranteed and they need to continuously strike while the iron is hot, in her case, I feel backing away from the spotlight instead of reinventing herself would do her a world of good.

This is what truly boggles my mind. I’m trying to figure out why NOW all of a sudden everyone is riding hard on these artists when this stuff has been even more blatant for many years before. I feel like people are cherry picking stuff and making a mountain out of a molehill. I find it amazing that people are dissing this song. You have to remember that music is a form of artistic expression. You write so you don’t do. I see your point and I do believe that there are impressionable minds out there that are young, but these artists are NOT responsible for these kids. When my mother was growing up she said her parents didn’t want her listening to James Brown’s ‘S3x Machine’ because of it’s suggestive lyrics, when I was coming out my mom didn’t want me listening to the Snoop Dogg – Doggystyle album because of the violence and cursing. My point is that every generation has had its ‘negative’ influences but people didn’t go out of their way to trash the artist because they knew what their role was as a parent with rearing that child properly. The game hasn’t changed, but proper parenting has…IMHO that’s not the responsibility of the artists. It can be attributed to many other things like taking prayer out of school and cartoons being more violent, but then again, that’s when the censoring and raising comes in…

I think the music industry DOES influence our youth!! It’s not just the songs but the images most rappers try to portray.

Remember when basketball was the end all that be all and every other kid wanted to grow up to be a professional basketball player?

Why is it now that kids want to grow up to be rappers? Well, I’ll tell you. The difference is NOT in the money because you had children wanting to be the next Michael Jordan and picked UP a basketball.

Now, you have children that want to be rappers while trying to emulate that lifestyle.

It’s not the money (although it’s good) that gives rap a bad name. It’s the lifestyle that these rappers try to live up to.

I’m no where NEAR into hip-hop like I am other genres of music but it’s sad that even I can mumble a few words of it–because it’s EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!

Vigilante Citizen explained exactly what Millhouse is saying; and even though I was not at the MTV Awards, if you read between the lines (discern), yes it was a satanic ritual.

Next (4) Pink does the flying trapeze number, which means she was “dizzy” and still singing (read the vigilante citizen for clarification).

Then (5) Madonna reading her satanic material. All right in front of everyone, if people don’t want to believe it, just consider that while we love music, a lot of it is being pushed off on us; so the negativity has been going on for so long, most people cannot see the damage that’s done.

Ne-yo should be slapped for even comparing that song to Thriller. Thriller was not talking about ***** like that, and he knows it. And who the hell is Chuck Harmony? This is all I got to say and then I am through with the topic, it’s too much.It’s too many images of the devel floating around in these videos. I can’t beleive people are so dumb correct me if I am wrong. In the Omarion Cold as Ice or Ice cold what ever the song is called. You see the same thing he starts off in the back seat of a car where you can not see the driver, just like in the jamie fox video just like with the Jay-z and Beyonce Crazy In Love video. In the Omarion video when he is sitting at the table you can clearly see a statue of the bopohmet devil sitting across from him, and when he stands up and turns around you see the same image on the back of his jacket, which is the same image in the triangle in the Rihanna Umbrella video, which is the same image Beyonce wore with the rearview mirriors. I am tired of all these low budget video with people in a vehicle without a driver meaning they are not in control. Okay, yes, the music is dark, but a lot of singers go through this type of phase. Mary J. Blige just came out of one where a lot of her songs were so depressing, now she’s starting to come out with more inspirational stuff like “Just Fine”. So it suits where she is right now for Rihanna to be singing stuff like “Russian Roulette” — every great singer knows to sing what they feel and know, and this is just where she is right now. I’m not worried — I know she’ll come out of the darkness. I will admit that I am a little bit prejudiced — as a musician, I’m more about the music. If Beyonce’ had done a MOVIE called Russian Roulette most of you would be lining up at the THEATER to see it.

My impression of song is that it is a form of interpretation. If the subject matter is “interesting” or the STORY within the song is something that caused Rihanna to stop, look and listen, it is no more indicative of her personal views, than it is for those of us who chose to read “The Coldest Winter Ever” – the SUBJECT matter and the way the story was told, caught my attention, but that didn’t a wanna be drug dealer make.
