This is what truly boggles my mind. I’m trying to figure out why NOW all of a sudden everyone is riding hard on these artists when this stuff has been even more blatant for many years before. Well my question now is, if you know this stuff is going on and that you are a part of the equation then why are you or anyone else willingly taking part in the ‘system’. Is it because you don’t want to find a career doing something else? Can the same evil agenda be applied to things outside of the industry, like the evils of wall street and corporate greed? My point is that your ideology can be applied to things far beyond the music industry if you take out the time to do so. I work for a healtcare company, with the healthcare industry being greedy and ‘evil’ as people may put it, am I now evil? I just have a hard time singling out certain artists that may just be getting their paycheck for things they are told to do, similar to me getting my paycheck for things I am told to do. There are evil forces all around us, it just takes individual realization to deflect these things and keep God in our lives.

Well I don’t work in billing so it doesn’t apply but to answer your question, I would say yes, I would do it to keep my job but I likely wouldn’t stay if it bothered me that badly. I’d be looking for something else in the process that made me feel less dirty. But remember, this is America, everything started with a big crime, and what is criminal activity considered? That’s right, evil. So we can all dig up something sinister behind the car we drive or the place that we call employment, that’s our society. it could be about anything you want it to be. ART is interpreted by the viewer or listener. when I heard the song I immediately thought of a confusing, unhealthy relationship. We’ve all been there, where you know something is absolutely wrong and so bad for you…but you stay and play anyway. The thing is this song could be about Russian Roulette the game, a bad relationship, bad choices, doubting yourself but going along with something anyway…the possibilities are endless. I see your point and I do believe that there are impressionable minds out there that are young, but these artists are NOT responsible for these kids. When my mother was growing up she said her parents didn’t want her listening to James Brown’s ‘S3x Machine’ because of it’s suggestive lyrics, when I was coming out my mom didn’t want me listening to the Snoop Dogg – Doggystyle album because of the violence and cursing. My point is that every generation has had its ‘negative’ influences but people didn’t go out of their way to trash the artist because they knew what their role was as a parent with rearing that child properly. The game hasn’t changed, but proper parenting has…IMHO that’s not the responsibility of the artists. It can be attributed to many other things like taking prayer out of school and cartoons being more violent, but then again, that’s when the censoring and raising comes in…

Well, what does that mean? It means that the parenting HAS to be stepped up. These artists have no intention of changing or doing good according to your personal experience and accounts.
