Oprah did a show where a geneticist came on and tested several celebrities to determine what % ethnicity they are. Oprah tested 89% from Sub-Saharan african,8% native american, and 3% east asian. Quincy Jones tested 66% sub-saharan african and 34% european. That’s why Rashida looks more white.

What is everyone talking about. She looks more like quincy than like her mother. Look at pictures of a young quincy jones verses pictures of young peggy lipton. Rashida has mom’s nose and lips, and dads smile (dimples and smile lines/curls) and eyes. Just because quincy is black doesnt mean his pretty daughter cant look like him. You people need to learn to be more objective and stop seeing color so much. geeezzzzzz…..

If the gender of the parents were REVERSED — white dad, black mom, even if she looked exactly the same way, I doubt that she would have PRECISELY the same world view.

Two cases: the famous case of the critic who “passed” and whose black blood only became widely known after his death, married a white woman, and sired kids who, naturally considered themselves “white” (which, for all practial purposes they ARE).

Second — the descendants fo Thomas Jeffeson and Sally Hemmings. Sally herself was 1/2 white, her offsrping with Mr. Jefferson, therfore 1/4 black.
Some went into the “white world”, some into the “black”.

When the descendants of Sally sued to be included into the Jefferson Heritage, these current descendants inclued people who live as mixed, black and WHITE in 21st century america.

Every black family in the South has documented history of light skin relatives who “passed” into white society, and, when inter-marrying with whites, brought black blood into MANY a “white” family.

It is simply UNTRUE that there aren’t white people in America with some black blood. There are THOUSANDS.
