Solange Gets Dropped from Record Label

Sad day for the Knowles family, Solange was dropped from Interscope/Geffen Records. There were a couple of rumors going around about this back in April but of course the Knowles camp shut that down quick. We’re pretty sure it’s hard for them to have a success story and an EPIC FAIL in the same household.

BV Buzz can officially report that Solange Knowles is no longer signed to Interscope/Geffen Records.

BV Buzz’s previous story, back in April, caused a firestorm of backlash from both Solange and her father/manager, Mathew Knowles.

At the time, Knowles sent over this unedited statement: “Our joint venture with Music World and Interscope/Geffen/A&M is very much in placed for Solange. It’s very disappointing in recent days the amount of false statements in the marketplace from Solange being drop to me accused of being Kelly Rowland’s father.”

Additionally, Solange took to Twitter to blast this columnist by writing: “Ren and Stimpy “you stooppid idioots part 19″ lol. Today, April 7, 09 I am still on Music World/Geffen/ Interscope records…”

Denials aside, BV Buzz has learned that the label parted ways with Solange around May.

“They just waited for the buzz to die down and quietly ended their relationship with her,” a source close to the label told us.

Though Solange has been currently recording new music for her third solo CD, that music is being recorded independently as she has yet to ink a new deal with another label.

BV Buzz reached out to Music World Entertainment for a new comment on this story – though since they lied once, I’m sure they’ll lie again.

Here’s what they had to say: “Solange felt it necessary to go with a smaller, independent label that focuses more on the alternative genre, one that reflects her music style and artistry. Solange is working on a new album and the label will be announced shortly. The relationship with Interscope is excellent and the current album, ‘Sol-Angel and the Hadley Street Dreams’ is still being worked through the Music World/ Interscope joint venture with consistent weekly sales.”

Getting drop is probably why Solange really cut her hair off. They say some women cut there hair when they are going through negative situations. Well, Solange… it looks like this was the reason for your rebirth.

Solange needs to pursue another career separate from what Beyonce is doing. In music she will always be compared to her more successful more beautiful sister. She has the personality to pull off a successful reality or comedy show. She should pursue that or a college degree in business. But, she needs to get out of the niche her sister has conquered. Solange can not sing! I repeat! SOLANGE CAN NOT SING! thank god! she horrible. I purchased that album and bhrought it back to target and told them the cd would not play. Her nasal like voice and squeaks is nothing artistic, it’s actually talentless! The girl got a ego like a multi platnium selling artist, but she went wood on her last album. She rides on her sister’s coat tail, and that’s what keeps her in the game. If you want real ol skool rock and R&b the british do it better. Amy Winehouse, Adele, and Duffy! they are great quality artist in the same genre. These ladies can acyually sing. Solange can ride on her I am so unique and wear all the clothing that comes out of Elle Magazine all she wants to, but the chick is talentless. She chops off her hair and now more people care! I care about her finding her true calling! and it’s not music!

@mel Oh yeah I remember when it was announced Solange was dropped around the same time as Kelly. You are right, she was dropped a long time ago, Interscope probably agreed to announce her being dropped later to ease the blow of embar*****ment for her. I still think that’s unfair, as soon as Kelly left Matthew’s management all of a sudden there’s this big press release she was dropped from Music World and Columbia, but when Solange is dropped her label stays quiet for a little while. I tell ya, the Knowles are such snakes.

Let this be clear.. her father does have a record label called Music World which both Beyonce & Solange are signed to. But, they still need a major label backing which is why Music World signed Solange to Interscope/Universal, but still under Music World. Like Beyonce is Music World/Columbia./Sony.
