Man Who Scammed Woman Out Of $80,000 Appears In Court
The faux Match.com millionaire who managed to squeeze $80,000 out of a woman in a single week is pleading his case. As previously reported John Martin Hill, 35, was arrested after a woman said she met him on the dating site and gave him big bucks so they could buy a house together.
Hill apparently convinced the woman that he was a millionaire and they were in “love”—-but he ghosted her and took off with the cash she gave him before being arrested.
Now according to WSBTV, Hill’s coming clean and telling a judge that he’s FLAT broke. The shady scammer admitted that he’s been unemployed since March 1, does not own a car, home or “anything of that nature” and that he does not have a checking or savings account.
He says however that he’s INNOCENT and the woman willingly gave him money for his “internet businesses.”
Sure, Jan.
“She approached me. She asked if I was new to the area. She discussed knowing the area really well and said she was a tattoo artist for cancer patients. We started discussing business,” Hill said.
A judge decided to move forward with fraud charges against him. Police think Hill could be a suspect in at least eight other fraud cases.
We hope they throw the book at this fraudulent F-boy.
