Is going though some major battles, with his own demons. As black people, not one of us, can say that if not for our selves. We may all know someone, in our very own families, or associates that is going through this same similar hell. America has a way, of eating its best, and regurgitating them out, like a bad hangover. We cannibalize our own, for self amusement. It is what Americans do best. This syndrome comes from the absurd ideology, that if you have the money, and the adulation of the masses, you will be happy. For the many that will never achieve fame, or great amounts of wealth, this is a lie, so be warned. In other words, if you just have the mansions, and all the trappings. You too would be at peace, and in internal happiness. It is the greatest lie ever perpetuated by a capitalistic system. It starts with your parents, then it goes to your teachers. It is on every billboard on the road. It is in your favorite magazines. There is just no real way, to get away from the lie which is materialism. I have personally been to the highest mountains. Unfortunately for those that have been to the top of Everest, you quickly realize. That the hype, is just that hype. And the lie, is just a lie. Earl, has realized this, and so have many of others, such a Kurt Cobain, Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, and so many others. When you finally reach the top of the mountain. You quickly realize that, there is nothing to see, but other mountains, and not much more. This is where the lies become self evident. And this is where disillusionment begins.. You see, if you are not very careful. The American dream, can quickly become the American nightmare. I have climbed Everest, and unlike Martin Luther, King. When he said, “I have climbed the mountain top“ Well, no disrespect to Martin Luther . However I have found that when you climb the tallest mountains. The act can become a major let down. Enjoy the journey, not necessarily the destination. And to DMX, keep your head up kid….. Fore, we are all a little crazy… None the less gifted. ARTOFWAR.
