Obama says “As Parents, We Have to Set the Standards for our Kids… It’s Not Just the Teachers’ Responsibility”
Posted by Bossip Staff
President Obama was giving a speech at a middle school about parents setting the standards in the household and he gave an example of his own daughter and what happen when she got a bad grade.
Pop it for a Peek…
It is a problem when some parents think that it’s the teacher’s responsibility to set the standards for their child but the parents have to step in too. If parents don’t teach their children to set goals, is it really the responsibility of the teacher???

True
AMEN!
It starts at home. If a child isn’t getting the proper discipline and social skills they need at home first, how can they go somewhere else and know how to act. These parents send their half raised, delinquents to school and expect teachers to be resopnsible for teaching children.
I agree ! Obama is that dude ! i`m wearing a Obama is my home boy shirt right now !
that speaks for itself… of course the parents have the most responsibility. Afterall, they brought their kids on this world
that should go without saying. that’s common sense. yet I am surround by ppl who don’t look after their kids. weird society we live in today. smh
I agree with that.
BUT WHY DOES HE WANT US TO INJECT OUR CHILDREN WITH A “VACCINE” THAT HE WON”T GIVE TO HIS OWN DAUGHTERS?
LIKE PREACHER JEREMIAH WRIGHT SAID,
“GOD DAMN AMERICA”
US OF KKKA
Best President ever…
Too bad so many have no parents
I read an article on how 8th grade graduation celebrations among blacks are getting bigger because they don’t expect their kids to graduate high school. I’ve witnessed this personally. It’s a damn shame when you set the bar so low with your kids that you are renting limos for middle school graduations.

What’s sad is we have become a very lazy know it all want fast easy results deadbeat society! Kids now have the internet TEACHING them EVERYTHING the new babysitter and TV still poisoning their minds…
In the bible it says there will be a generation that will not know God; THEY’RE HEREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE…
I bet this is how he’ll sell the idea of longer school days. Having “institutes” feed the nation’s kids more BS. This Prez is phony just like the rest. He waited to give his kids the flu shot that doesn’t contain the harmful additives. They weren’t first to get it though.
Hey Sho Me State!!
I’m from the Show-Me as well. Out here reppin BIG in Cali!!
He’s right.
good speech obama.check out more news with obama on the TRillBlog at www . KeepItTrill . com .
You are your child’s first teacher. As a 1st grade teacher, I implore parents to READ to their kids.

if parents should set the example i guess that means they should use proper grammer
and so should you
im sure obama didnt say “what happen when she got a bad grade”…im sure he said it correctly….you guys just wrote it incorrectly…
this is part of the reason we as black people cant p***** standardized exams…our language is not standardized.
without doubt the truest thing he has said in year 1, nothing worse then hearing oh its the teachers fault or when a sports star plays up oh why isnt his club doing more to stop it? Parents have them for more time per day then teachers do its up to them to do their job properly
and that is the problem today, parents do not teach their children anything at home, they blame the school, society, anything but themselves!
YUP AND THE PARENTS NEED TO STOP BLAMING RAP.
Parents need to be there and RAISE their children.

Teachers should do their jobs to the best of their ability, but the parents had the child, so responsibility to that child is their #1 focal point. How you gonna blame the teacher if you never read to little johnny?

and movies and video games and the television and the internet….
He is absolutely right.
We are raising a society of “I don’t care.” These children are NOT going ot grow up to be productive members of society. Their parents are a hot mess and the choldren have a poor role model. How about this…parents keep your behinds at home instead of running the streets and get to know your kids. Better yet….raise them instead of letting the streets do it. Or even…..stop having kids if you can’t or won’t take care of them. Men who make babies, but never become a father and chicken head mamas who keep having babies with these sorry men.
Of course parents should be the first to set standards for their children. Teachers are Educators, hired to educate. Parents should inspire kids to want to strive for the best. Teachers in turn should be reinforcers of the goals and strengths that should already be there. The problem is that in our society children are having children. Most are not equipped with the tools needed to teach/inspire/raise kids when they are kids learning themselves. I think that in order to solve a problem we must first recognize the root of it. It’s easy to point the finger of responsibility to someone else. It becomes more difficult when there’s a mirror in front of that finger. Whatever happened to those old school Grandparents of yester year? Full of wisdom and experience that they so willingly and eagerly let slip from their lips.Watever happened to the philosphy that it takes a village to raise a child? We have to realize that these are KIDS having KIDS and then take it from there. Only then will we learn that it is the responsibility of all of us.
did or didn’t Obama go against that blind govenor from New York Patterson?
