If you haven’t been watching the news for the past 24 hours, then let us bring you up to speed. Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, went on a killing spree at Ft. Hood (Military Base) in Texas claiming 13 lives and a total of 30 people were wounded. Maj. Hasan was shot four times and was thought to be dead but he survived and is currently hospitalized under military guard.

If You Know Like We Know… We Never Hear the Real Truth

Soldiers who witnessed the shooting rampage at Fort Hood that left 13 people dead reported that the gunman shouted “Allahu Akbar!” before opening fire, the base commander said Friday.

Lt. Gen. Robert Cone said officials had not yet confirmed that the suspected shooter, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, made the comment, which is Arabic for “God is great!” before the rampage Thursday, which left 30 people wounded, including the gunman.

An imam from a mosque Hasan regularly attended said Hasan, a lifelong Muslim, was a committed soldier, gave no sign of extremist beliefs and regularly wore his uniform at prayers.

Cone said Hasan was hospitalized in stable condition and that investigators hope to interrogate him as soon as possible. In the early chaos after the shootings, authorities believed they had killed him, only to discover later that he had survived.

Cone said Hasan was not known to be a threat or risk. He acknowledged that it was “counterintuitive” that a single shooter could kill and injure so many people. But he said the massacre occurred in “close quarters.”

“With ricochet fire, he was able to injure that number of people,” Cone said. Authorities are investigating whether Hasan’s weapons were properly registered with the military.

The motive for the shooting wasn’t clear, but Hasan was apparently set to deploy soon and had expressed some anger about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas, said generals at Fort Hood told her that Hasan was about to deploy overseas.

Lee said Hasan had hoped Obama would pull troops out of Afghanistan and Iraq and got into frequent arguments with others in the military who supported the wars.

Officials are not ruling out the possibility that some of the casualties may have been victims of “friendly fire,” that in the mayhem and confusion at the shooting scene some of the responding military officials may have shot some of the victims.

The gunfire broke out around 1:30 p.m. at the Soldier Readiness Center, where soldiers who are about to be deployed or who are returning undergo medical screening. Nearby, some soldiers were readying to head into a graduation ceremony for troops and families who had recently earned degrees.

Pastor Greg Schannep had just parked his car along the side of the theater and was about to head into the ceremony when a man in uniform approached him.

“Sir, they are opening fire over there!” the man told him. At first, he thought it was a training exercise — then heard three volleys and saw people running. As the man who warned him about the shots ran away, he could see the man’s back was bloodied from a wound.

Schannep said police and medical and other emergency personnel were on the scene in an instant, telling people to get inside the theater. The post went into lockdown while a search began for a suspect and emergency workers began trying to treat the wounded. Some soldiers rushed to treat their injured colleagues by ripping their uniforms into makeshift bandages to treat their wounds.

Video from the scene showed police patrolling the area with handguns and rifles, ducking behind buildings for cover. Sirens could be heard wailing while a woman’s voice on a public-address system urged people to take cover. Schools on the base went into lockdown, and family members trying to find out what was happening inside found cell phone lines jammed or busy.

“I was confused and just shocked,” said Spc. Jerry Richard, 27, who works at the center but was not on duty during the shooting. “Overseas you are ready for it. But here you can’t even defend yourself.”

The wounded were dispersed among hospitals in central Texas, Cone said. The bodies of the victims would be taken to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware for autopsies and forensic tests, said a U.S. official who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss matters that were under investigation.

There also will be a ceremony at the air base to honor the dead.

They trained the weak-minded and the bullied into killers and it usually backfires with innocent people losing their lives! My thoughts are with the ones who lost their lives and their families

  • Booya!

We have to be aware of propaganda and obama needs support in deploying 40 000 extra troops to Afghan, however, what is America like, Bin Laden “revisted” training and funding people who would turn the gun in a split second?

When someones background isnt typical American and shows some type of rebellon towards America, yet are in very important delicate postions, America needs to be more intelligent in the way they deal with them!

To me this goes down as, America has failed her troops and country yet again.

  • JAMES AKA 007

It was so obvious that something like this would happen. This was nothing more than an mk ultra victim/Manchurian candidate. Don’t ever be so quick to believe what the media says, just another mind control victim that was used to fulfill their propaganda and continue to build hate against a certain sect of people. So obvious, mk ultra is alive and well.

I just hope we don’t judge a whole race of people for one man’s evil.

  • Booya!

Sorry Tony, you know what I mean. America is a Christian country, the guy is Muslim and is against the Iraq and Afghan war. That doesnt mean someone is a killer or will be anti America, just means in those situtions America needs to stop being so rush rush and a little bit more intelligent with someone they are trying to bully and force out to war!

How on earth would anyone send a muslim out to war who opposes the Iraq and Afghan war, he was a mass murderer waiting to happen! This is the Militarys fault.

Not saying a muslim who is against Iraq and Afghan cannot be a born and bred loyal serving American, there are many out there, I am just saying the army needs to be sensitive with them and implement common sense.

I am sorry, I sound like a bigot, but sometimes bigots are right!

I wish the people of America would wake up
    Wake up
    Wake up
This was a terrorist attack, a terrorist attack but the Media and Barack Hussein Obama won’t tell you that because he is too buy trying to protect Muslims. American is falling and Christianity is being stepped on.

  • Is Rihanna’s sharp n pointy witchy fingernails took the oath banned

There’s more to this story than we will ever publicly know. How ironic is it, the guy is Muslim. I hope this isn’t code for an Iranian war.
    Lord, keep us.

  • Is Rihanna’s sharp n pointy witchy fingernails took the oath banned

    @ Stanley
if it was a “terrorist attack” then it was no different than that of Dylan Klebold and Tim McVeigh. The guy was Muslim, true, but he had more security clearances than any Christian, I know.
…you may be in need of waking up.

  • bobby

    @ Booya

So bigots are right sometimes? Wow. You’re comments show the endemic ignorance that has become too welcome in American society towards what is seen as different. The shooter was a soldier, he should have known full well what his duties were. There are channels the man could have taken to be discharged from the Army. You’re implying that the military needs to patronize certain groups of people because they are seen as different. Because that’s what equality is right? You’re just silly.

  • Booya!

Bobby you completly show no regards towards mental illnesses, inside bullying, torment and the militarys responisblities!

A man shows mental problems to a war he doesnt want to go with and is left with a gun!

By the way, Obama wants 40 000 more troops in Afghan, this probably got him the deal!

  • Is Rihanna’s sharp n pointy witchy fingernails took the oath banned

this gu was under some top secret covert programming. he was made to carry out these atrocities to further push the divide between the two religions, therefore making the invasion of another Muslim country someway justifiable to the sheeple

  • Booya!

I here you Rhianna, however, like I said, Obama is being bullied into sending 40 000 more troops to Afgahan, this most probably helped the case!

  • Ms. J

I do believe this was a terriost attack regarding idealogy and religion…. All muslims who convert, as well as, those who have always been muslims that enter the armed forces should be under scrutiny & intense investigations… The problem is one doesn’t know if they are a radical muslim or a peaceful muslim.

  • Ms. J

Although this man may have been bullied because he is a muslim…. he clearly was “torn” between going to off to war and killing fellow muslims… Clearly, his allegiance was with the muslim religion… that’s why muslims in the military should be investigated. they may be planning to infiltrate the armed forces and kill from within.

  • bobby

    @ Booya
It’s the military for cryin out loud. They have a good handle on soldiers affairs. The guy didn’t show “mental problems to a war he doesnt want to go with” (whatever that means); he was resistant because of his religious/political ideologies. This was an isolated incident. There are plenty of Muslims courageously putting their lives on the line for THIS country right now in the Middle East. This a-hole just decided to make his objections known in the worst way.

  • Another Orchestrated Story

I can speak from the INSIDE looking OUT…this indeed was no mistake or accident.

Sure I feel for the fallen soldiers but that’s the nature of our job…please be more consciously awaken as more is revealed in upcoming days…stop taking the media or whoever’s word for it and look and observe for yourself…I know better.

  • Magz

My heart goes out to the families and the wounded no matter what caused the attack. I appreciate the great sacrifices they make for us all. Soooo Sad!!!!

    @Nette

Thank you for your statement. I’m sick of people being ignorant with their comments about the U.S. Military! People you have no clue what we go through on a day to day basis. From the outside looking in you shouldn’t say sh!t. Yes he was wrong, but everyone deals with stress in diffrent ways. how diffrent is he from the other soliers that come home from a tour in Iraq or Afghan and killed off their family? I say again he is wrong, but your also on the outside looking in on the situation.

I have not yet been to Iraq, or Afqhan, but i know that with me having a U.S Navy stiching over my heart wearing this U.S military uniform everyday i too might have to go. I stand proud and will serve my time as many others have!

If you dont want to go dont join. We are not in a draft joining the military is simply by choice. Voulentary!

  • Sydney™

I’m reserving judgment on the origins of this horrendous tragedy, but some very disturbing details about Maj. Hasan are emerging, such as this paragraph from an AP story:

“At least six months ago, Hasan came to the attention of law enforcement officials because of Internet postings about suicide bombings and other threats, including posts that equated suicide bombers to soldiers who throw themselves on a grenade to save the lives of their comrades.”

  • Rrrrroe Ski Love- A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

Why would a true Muslim beleiver go over to Iraq and kill fellow beleivers? If he showed disdain for going over there from the beginning, the military should have recognized this as a serious matter. (usally a court martial or such)I agree that the terrorist are infiltrating our military and our banking systems and the Govt. is doing nothing about it.

  • Day Dreamer

    @2dimples

valid point but who represents America if they need to be more careful on who they enlist?

the government is America because they run it and rules are in place for a reason…trust if they were really concern, that would’ve happened long ago…this is much deeper than what the surface covers. I believe it’s not about being more mindful, at this grimy point it’s about being more compassionate…Iran’s next! Look in the bible and see what part of land Iran is convering…

  • Sydney™

NPR ran a segment this morning on heightened security measures for Muslim organizations and mosques that have received threats in the wake of yesterday’s rampage. It is very unfortunate that members of the Muslim community have, once again, been put on the defensive. It’s a depressing situation for everyone involved — my deepest condolences to the families of the wounded and the fallen.

In the reserves now and I have taken off when I wanted, when I do go I have to tell them what training I’m off to go do so they can find me for accountability…other than that it’s bombs to put on target and planes to take off…they ain’t got time to spoon feed…just like corporate america…only difference is you don’t get fired in the military.

Plus the military installations have their own schools, fire department, police department, hospital, electrical, IT, finance departments, services, etc…so soldiers come in the form of corporate america because they fill those slots. Just FYI.

  • Day Dreamer

    @drenk

the key word the military offers most people is discipline…that’s why corporate america are quick to hire those with military background because they have “DISCIPLINE”

    self-discipline represents “endurance”

two pains in life: endurance and regret…endurance is heavy but regret weighs more…

soldiers deserve to be called American more than the average person. an American is one who represent America…for those who don’t like the military or at least appreciate it for making US the most powerful country…then perhaps you aren’t American. There’s only one way we proved we were the most powerful…not with nuclear weapons, not with numbers, not with uniforms…but with the efforts of many soldiers…soldiers with heart that is.

  • *aintnoshameinmygame*

can anybody tell me what the US is fighting for please? and dont give me this freedom crap….i feel really bad for the people that have lost their lives…but isn’t the military just helping the US government push their agenda of Greed and power???? how is this being a heroe????

it’s called being a hero when you step up and take the position that nobody wants to do, trust and believe if no one joined voluntarily this would be a different website…for real greed and power is what you embrace here in the states so perhaps it’s pushing the agenda in the war zone but civilians reap the benefits here on American soil…

  • Day Dreamer

It’s called kill or be killed. So a hero would be one who goes to the land of the perpetrators and fight a good fight.

Every person who says they’re American is pushing the agenda of the government especially the ones on welfare or in jail.

  • Day Dreamer

    @wanjiru

perhaps it has nothing to do with all MUSLIMS but if he shouts “Allah Akbar” and kill 13 injuring 30 and is opposed to deploying to do what he signed for then it may have a little bit to do with the fact he’s a Muslim.

How do you call someone ignorant and then call them out their name? Only ignorant people have a shortage of vocabulary sweetheart.

Anyone who joins the military does it voluntarily. There is no draft. If someone chooses to join the military then it is their job and duty to protect this country. You can’t join the military and oppose the war or going to war, that’s what you’re signing up for. That’s like a teacher saying they don’t want to teach.

tmz didn’t even post about this

    @Nette and JBurd

To feel that people shouldn’t comment on something related to the military if they’ve never served is just…crazy and ridiculous. Should we not comment on the war (any war)either, should we let only those in the military speak about military action/inaction. Should we have no say in military presence and occupation in other nations? I think not and neither should you. We are ALL affected by the actions of the military and should all voice our thoughts and opinions…and not just on internet blogs either.

You should never fight for someone who doesn’t ask for your help. Its like trying to help out a handicap person, they’ll snap at you. Plus, b4 you can help anyone else, u must first take care of urself, judging by the way America looks, 70% of people still living in poverty, we have no right to go an help another country

From what I read this guy went to Virginia Tech…something is wrong with that school because every year someone shots up several people in public and they are usually associated with that school

I reckon a holistic approach to basketball training is essential. Equal emphasis should be place on shooting and defensive drills
