I don’t think that anyone is justifying Chris Brown’s actions…what we are questioning is if he should have to lose his entire career behind his mistake. YES, he was dead wrong and is at fault. However, he has paid for his mistake in the eyes of the law.
Rihanna’s motives are clearly self serving. If she was that interested in being a role model she would have spoken out about this incident prior to the release of her new album. The timing is questionable at best.
the whole story is really sad. Sad on both sides. She cant still love him though, when theres vengeance in her heart to strike as soon as he release his album. Secondly even though i really feel sorry for Chris,i really shouldnt. its either your crazy or heartless to see someone in pain after hitting them to not stop ….(to let it reach that bad). Obsession is the right word to describe everything, coz the ***** haven’t moved on and not allowing him to either.
I have never commented on Bossip before but I think someone needs to help put this in perspective. I honestly don’t approve of anyone hitting another person. That includes a man hitting a woman and a woman hitting a man. We are intelligent beings that can diffuse a situation without violence. In this case I believe the p*****ion involved trumped all logic. This young lady openly acknowledges she saw something in that text message the infuriated her. She undoubtedly reacted. She hints to as much, not wanting to reveal that she may have ignited this. I drive everyday to and from work and can only imagine that while operating a car and throwing blows like this, they were defensive blows given by this young man. I believe she attacked him and continued to come at him in some jealous fit. He pushed her back…pushing her on to the car door. If he was able to bite her, she had to be on him. Clearly, this is not your typical domestic violence scenario. We have to aggressors. Certainly that does not make his actions any more acceptable. However, as spectators we need to look at this in a different light. I don’t own a Chris Brown or Rihanna CD and probably never will. And, it won’t be because of this and I suggest that others not be so quick to make a decision based on this incident alone for either of the parties involved.
Rhianna has big forehead, mopst probably a decent brain is inside their, even if it has never been educated!
Chris as a small sized tiny disturbing forehead, you can tell there is nish nosh inside it and he needs to go back to school and train it up for a couple of years!

Seriously – Rihanna is far from the quintessential abused woman! She does not suffer at the hands of a militant or quarrelsome partner. She’s a young girl who just happened to be in a tumultous, and consqeuently unhealthy relationship with her boyfriend. Ri isnt even innocent in all this. It’s gone on record that she’s provoked him, pushed him and even slapped him. REAL ABUSED WOMEN DON’T FIGHT BACK IN SUCH A MANNER. Most generally try to protect themselves and don’t further provoke their abusers. My mother was an abused woman at the hands of my father, so I’ve seen it 1st hand.
Chris Brown is no abuser. He does not fall into the category with Ike Turner, Sean Penn, Don Cornelius, Mike Tyson or the countless other men who beat their wives just for kicks! He just happens to have gotten the upper hand in this particular fight which resulted in his arrest. He’s done his pennance, let him live. I’m so not with her camp trying to further sabotage his career.

As a woman, I am worried about the way that many people are dismissing her history of abuse against Chris. I am not a Chris fan neither am I a RHianna fan. I have been through a tough domestic situation with a man. Yes, we were arguing. Yes, I pushed him. I did have my hands in his face, we were arguing. He didn’t push me back or also put his hands in my face. Something in him snapped and he hit me with closed fists and continued to do so for quite some time. It’s like he blanked out. I could only ball up and try and cover my face. It was nowhere near an even match. It was like a heavyweight and a lightweight. I’m not saying that it’s what happened with Rihanna but there are some men (and women too) that have some serious issues. We were both arguing. Sure I was wrong for pushing him but his blanking out and beating the crap out of me was some whole other thing. Afterwords he couldn’t believe it. He caught himself in the middle of kicking me and realized that I was his woman, his girl. Just because you may be fortunate to never have gone through something like that, or are fortunate to be with a man without those kind of issues, please don’t dismiss these issues lightly. He could have killed me with his bare hands and thats no joke.
Of course what Chris did was wrong, but at the same time he is young he isn’t an OLD ***** Ike Turner who had issues of control and jealousy or Bobby Brown who was a addict.
An as for Rihanna when she said Chris had “no soul” when he was beating her I can definitely relate to that because I was in a domestic abuse situation where when I looked intom my dudes eyes he was like a demon.

I agree, but, according to many of the comments that have been posted on this blog in recent months, this isn’t what young boys are being taught at home.
It would be interesting to track whether cases of domestic violence continue to increase since we have a number of boys who are being raised by women with this mindset. Once they become men, it may difficult from them to restrain their emotions and to distinguish between appropriate and inappropriate behavior, including when it comes to their interaction with women.

If God has forgiven Chris Brown, why do you feel he still needs validation from people? Isn’t God forgiving him enough? Or is that just an old saying? Forgive is not the same as forget. We as a people need to be much more in control of our emotions. Both men and women. I do think however it is very misguided and dangerous for us to continue to prosecute and vilify men hitting women, while condoning women hitting men. Domestic violence is wrong anyway shape or form. I never said he did it before. I am talking about the time we know of right here and thats enough for me. Chris Brown is a boy…plain and simple. He made a horrible choice to beat a woman up. I hope he has learned his lesson and will never put his hands on a woman again. So age,mental state & surrounding ALL play a part should you get a life sentence probably not. As far as my job goes, I’m grown and don’t need to fabricate something like that to prove a point; and you don’t need to be rude to prove yours. I love what I do. And, yes I’ve argued, hell yeah. But, when you’re raised right, you act like a lady or a gentleman and you won’t need to get in anyone’s face. My folks were married for over 35 years before she p*****ed a few months ago, and they never even raised their voice to each other.
These were two YOUNG kids making bad choices. Chris has admitted all wrong, accepted punishment -he needs to continue counseling. He’s at an age where he can learn and grow from this. Making him out to be a demon doesn’t heal anyone and is not the solution to dv. All parties need counseling. @FROM EXPERIENCE- I use to feel the same way as you do and I still do feel for the most part that many NOT ALL black females are negative. I felt that way for years from my experiences since I was predominantly raised around white and hispanic people in middle cl***** neighborhoods, until I went off to college at HBCU & I met and now have some great sista friends, but it does seem like the unity is not there. If it wasn’t for my sista friends I would still feel that way I understand coming onto blogs how it seems that way, but not all. I guess there are more negative than postive oneses online.
Yeah many women are willingly but it usually comes from unresolved issues dating back to home in many cases. I’ve had nothing but postive men starting with my dad (RIP)uncles, great guy friends and even some men I’ve dated. I do think women by nature particulary black women tend to love harder, stronger and tend to look over a mans shortcomings its when they look over the extremes that is harmful because it sends the wrong message. I’m neutral on both CB and Rihanna b/c and wish them well.

listen, *****ody can ever tell me how to teach my daughters..*****ODY. like i said before we live in a crazy world, people are crazy out there and they will not hesitate in doing nasty things to anyone, be it men or women. if i thought my daughters to be aggressive and crazy they will probably get killed.GOD FORBID. i have seen and heard women getting killed for hitting men first who never made it in the news. so please i know what i am doing.. and trust me they are now successful, one is married for 3yrs now and the other is a recent graduate.

The truth is…those cases happened many years before the OJ Simpson trial and the “New Domestic Violence Laws.” Now, anyone who goes to jail might lose their job after the 72hours and their employer the discover the truth (lying about being sick when they were actually locked up in jail). Men now may lose their jobs. Most of those men didn’t have big contracts like Chris Brown. Company’s that would have continued in Brown representing their products and ideas would lose way more than Chris Brown is worth. I wouldn’t take a chance on him either. Mike Tyson got what he deserved…not only did management rip him off, but he squandered millions and now he’s practically broke. This is simply Karma for Chris Brown too, luckily he has millions to live comfortably for a lifetime if he lives within his means. Maybe he’s laid off or working a menial job while Halle is living the “Good Life.” Chris Brown contracts had “Moral Clauses” to protect a company’s image. I don’t feel sorry for C-Brown. He’s no different than the average abusers (rather alcoholic or domestic), except he has music talent in the public eye. He can’t blame Companies, Rihanna, or the public’s wallet for his fame going down the drain. We are all responsible for our own behavior. God, Rihanna, his family have forgiven him. He is not looking for forgiveness…he is looking for your dollar bills to keep him and those around him happy. Because they have not become de-sensitized to this issue by society because we teach them at home and do not leave it to the media to teach them their values. They have seen their father and I have arguments (some loud) and were quite aware when we were upset with each other, but they have never seen us put our hand on each other. Oh, and for the guy who downed the Sistahs, know that I am a beautiful black woman married to a beautiful black MAN, raised by a beautiful black woman married to my beautiful black father. I have two wonderful black brothers married to two wonderful black sisters. Its about the individuals involved, not a whole race. Some of y’all forget about a very very important thing when it comes to domestic violence. When a case is ONGOING, the victim and the accused ARE NOT ALLOWED to talk about it in public. Rihanna didn’t know until August whether the case was going to go to court or if a deal was going to be make.

Ok, so she talked about what happened. She even went into details about their relationship, some conversations that they had (which I think was VERY inapproapriate and she has NO idea what she has just started), she even mentioned the text message…but why did she say “it escalated” into him beating her up and she failed to mention what happened in between the text message and the fight??? I was REALLY on her side and I was ROOTING for her, but she should have NEVER done this d*mn interview. SMH. She kinda made herself look stupid due to the fact that she went into details about their relationship,she contradicted herself by saying something like ” I don’t know what the future holds for me because I’m not God” when asked about taking Chris back. But,she turned around and then said something like: “I would be a fool or crazy to take him back.”???Either you are going to take him back or not!!! The nerve of you to throw God into this mess!!! God doesn’t want to see us hurting, so going back to an abuser should not be an option!!!
