For me the most interesting part of this interview was when Rihanna said Chris Brown “had no soul in his eyes” well for course he had no soul in his eye, Chris Brown just like Rihanna sold his soul to saint he is soul-less. He has no comp*****ion for anyone, this guy is possessed just like most artists such as Rihanna, beyonce, Jayz, Kanye, etc.
i like Rhianna but some parts were not believable. take for instance, the part when she watched the video of chris apologizing, she said she never saw it but it seems as though she did.
oh well ppl lets move on she wants nothing but good things for chris and she doesnt hate him.
This will be my last time saying anything abt the Chris Brown & Rihanna situation. Whether she hit him first or not(and in the interview she said that she did not hit him)she was brutally beaten and that was wrong! People r going on and on about how this is a publicity stunt to boost album sales but was it a publicity stunt to boost album sales when Whitney Houston went on Oprah right before her album was released? If Chris Brown was able to speak out about what happened that night, then why can’t Rihanna? It saddens me to see so many women jumping to Chris Brown’s defense. Maybe she did have jealousy issues, but we don’t know that. That is just speculation but what we do know is she was badly beaten and no woman deserves that, whether she provoked him or not. Everytime someone calls Rihanna a liar they’re making it that much harder for other battered women to come forward. It’s never right to say that the victim deserved what they got. I just hope they both get the help they need and find closure on this so that they can move forward with their lives.
This is so sad and unfortunate but the reality is Rihanna is not and will not be the first women, who will be bite, abused, kicked box, and treated like an animal by a black men. Why do I say this, because black women are the only people who excuse this sort of behavior. Every black woman I have met, and majority of the ones that comment on bossip have dismissed and excused Chris Browns behavior WHY? because black women accept this behavior, they are physically and mentally immune to domestic abuse, its norm for them which is very heartbreaking. I advice you women to reevaluate yourselves have comp*****ion for this victim who was treated like an animal Chris Brown the coward abused this women as if he was in a boxing ring with a men, he is sick, and we should not support him.
Domestic violence is wrong on EITHER side… good interview though.

Rihanna seemed almost robotic in that interview. It seemed as if her decisions were based on what people told her. If she hadn’t considered other people’s opinions, she would still be with Chris Brown. That is why she said she didn’t know what the future holds as to her relationship with Chris Brown. Her first impulse was to stay with him, but she decided to take the advice of others and that is why they are not together. They are both very young and impressionable. Rihanna has not yet come into her womanhood.

Rhianna did a great job in her interview. She was forthright and real. She was and still is a woman in love. Chris has done a lot of good things. He’s givin to charity. He’s helped Oprah Winfrey in some of her philanthropic endeavors. He’s simply a talented young man who needs to get some help. He’s still young enough to change his life. I believe he will learn from this and he will grow from it. Ultimately he should be forgiven and allowed to live a full and productive life. These kids are too young to have been involved in such an intense relationship. They both need time to grow up. Chris needs to be guided through this just like Rhianna.

Answer this question, if that was your mother, sister or daughter, would you be saying she did something to provoke him to get beaten up like that? Naw, what it is, is that a number of people that have grown up in UNSTABLE & DYSFUNCTIONAL homes where they’ve seen their mother getting knocked upside the head, verbally & mentally abused and so as a result they think that’s “love” and what takes place in a “normal” relationship

she fessed up to feeling everything a normal person in her situation would and should feel…….which made the interview come off as sincere.
It does sound like she may have had some therapy sessions; but she has always sounded as if she has/had a good head on her shoulders.
A little more time to her self and she will be firmly stating that she will never get back with Chris.

I’ve never been a fan of rihannas but i believed every thing she said yesterday. You could see the pain in her eyes. It sickens me how many black women excuses chris brown behavior. Remember Karma is a *****. Now i do hope chris brown gets help and does well from here on out but i refuse to excuses what he did because he is young. Interesting point. I did note that in the initial aftermath of this incident, I was struck by a commentary written by a white woman who was physically abused by her husband on CNN. She found a commonality with Rihanna.
If you compare to the reactions to this case in the black and white communities, there does seem to be a suggestion that violence, on some level, is perceived as an acceptable form of expression/reaction by certain members of the black community, both male and female (not to say that there aren’t plenty of abusive men of all races). I also thought this may serve as a larger example of how violence against black women is regarded — do some of us, on some level, think sisters somehow deserve to be mistreated, or are incapable of being victims?
Young love! I will not take sides. As a mother of a son, I cannot take sides. One thing that we can teach our boys is this (Gucci said it best,”Girls are like bus’s, miss one, next 15 ones coming! A man should never put their hands on a woman (unless the man needs to defend himself).
In a sense, I do feel that black women have been dehumanized, in both mainstream culture and by members of our own race, and it’s not just a mindset held by men. I think some sisters have also internalized this destructive frame of thinking as well.

I think both of them are dead wrong. Chris was wrong for putting his hands on Rihanna but she is wrong for not fessing up to the whole story of what happened that night. Some of us women think that just because we are female that it is ok for us to hit our men without worrying about them hitting us back and that is not how is should be. if Rihanna said that she did not hit him i guess we weill just have to take her word for it. But a part of me believes it to be untrue.but i guess we will never know because non of us were there.
This thing was a blessing in disguise. Chris didn’t want to be a batterer, but it was there burried in his subconscious mind. This relationship brought it to light and now he can deal with it. My husband turned to me and said, ‘how is it that any man could even think of raising his voice at a woman, let alone hitting her. You could spit in my face and smack the hell out of me, I’d be out, but I would never imagine touching you.’ It made me realize, domestic violence is about how we raise our sons and the acceptance of such violence by women is about how we raise our daughers. To our black sons who think it is ok to beat on woman, please know that you are better than that, you are better than an animal — which is how you are acting — and that you are worthy of being a whole person who can deal with your anger in a better way. To our black daughters who think it is ok that Chris hit R or forgive it, understand it or think R had some level of culpubility, I know you think you are worthless and not deserving of being treated as a Queen, but you are. Her situation opened old wounds about watching her father beat the crap out of her mom. They say adults with issue usually occured when they was a child. There are women (and some men) who are abused every day with no provocation.
I don’t know if people are shocked by the occurrence of domestic violence as much as they are by some of the comments made here (or at least I am). More than one person has proclaimed that women aren’t beaten unless they provoke the *****ault. That’s mind-blowing.
Rihanna does not need to play victim to sell albums. Long before this incidence, the girl sold 15 MILLION albums WORLD-WIDE! She has more #1 hits than any other female in this decade. She was a mega-star long before this thing happened. Let’s get real people. That interview was taped by ABC long before her album. ABC/20-20 decided when the right time to release the interview. This interview wasn’t planned by Rihanna to sell albums as the girl did not need such to sell 15 Million albums and land coveted shots on prominent magazine covers and spreads as well as commercials. I don’t think there is such a thing as a “cl*****ic case of domestic violence.” Abuse is abuse. If a man hits you once, it’s abuse — it doesn’t take several times or more severe injuries to determine that it is an unhealthy, destructive relationship.
I’m still disturbed that some people seem to think that women cannot be abused unless they’re somehow the aggressor/provocateur. There are so many disturbing implications in that type of rationale.

I heard that Oprah actually did a good show several months ago with men who had abused the women in their lives, and I believe some of them candidly address their lack of self-control and an inability to harness their anger. They erupted in fits of rage and became violent — with no provocation. I didn’t see the show, but I was told it was enlighening, and the men willingly recognized their problems and their effects on people in their lives.

I think a more likely reason for his violent actions — his “blacking out” — comes from the abuse he witnessed as a child. Studies show that individuals who grow up in abusive households are more likely to become abusive adults. It is extremely detrimental to a child’s well-being to witness the physical and/or emotional abuse of a parent, and/or to be abused themselves.

There are a couple things I’d like to address…
(1) For the people who think her timing is suspect… up until now, she’s been able to avoid talking to the press. She knows full-well that if she didn’t address it soon, it would have been the first (and maybe only) question coming out of interviewer’s mouths. No doubt she’s about to go into heavy promotion for her new CD and I’m sure she’s looking to just move on from it and promote her work. This interview gave her an opportunity to answer everyone’s questions in one sitting. Now, maybe she can move forward in terms of her image and be done with it. Good for her.
(2) I have to take the majority of these comments with a grain of salt. For so many people to imply that she somehow provoked the incident and deserved the horrible beating she endured is sickening. I just can’t believe people are being serious when they say things like that (or maybe I just don’t want to believe it). I believe that she did not hit him. Whether she grabbed his phone and tossed it out the window, cussed him the hell out or whatever when she saw the ex-girlfriend’s text come up… well, wouldn’t you have done the same thing? That in NO WAY should have provoked such a physical attack. If she had hit him, a real man would have held her down and maybe used some force to stop her from doing it. A man doesn’t beat a woman. But he didn’t have ONE mark on his body. She had bruises, blood and bite marks. Hmmm. For those are you who are being serious and saying she provoked and deserved this, I feel sorry for you. I keep hearing everyone say that her “timing” is suspect. Rihanna is in the music business first. Meaning units sold is what you are measured by. I am sure that Rihanna did not plan to get her ***** whipped while she was working on it. If I were advising her I would give her the same advice.

The situation is unfortunate because it was very unnecessary. Neither, Chris Brown, nor Rihanna should have “attempted” to discuss the details the incident in interviews. First, both were very young, over emotional, and not in full control of the situation. The police complaint is only Rihanna’s reflection of the events that took place and is not a representation of the full story because Chris Brown plead guilty to the charges and did not challenge the complaint to avoid any further humiliation for the both of them. I keep hearing everyone say that her “timing” is suspect. Rihanna is in the music business first. Meaning units sold is what you are measured by. I am sure that Rihanna did not plan to get her ***** whipped while she was working on it. The fact that this saga has made people all over the world want to know more about her, it would be foolish from a business stand point not to capitalize on it. If I were advising her I would give her the same advice.
I do see that Rihanna is bitter towards Chris and it seems as if she’s trying to teach him a lesson, but Chris hitting her is inexcusable. Rihanna may not be the first woman to go through this, but she does provide a platform for these issues to be addressed. Honestly I feel like its a hate campaign against Chris Brown and the funny thing is I’m not a fan of Chris Brown or Rihanna. I’ve never bought their music, although I have listended to their music on the radio and I enjoy many of their songs.
But I’ve witnessed my mom being abused where my dad was simply a bully and would beat her because someone paid to much attention to her at a holiday party AND I’ve witnessed my brothers being abused by girls they dated to the point where it brought them to violence. For example, 1 chick broke into my brothers car repeatedly and stole stuff. We knew because she would call him and throw it in his face. One time she broke into his car and not only stole things, she vandalized his car and our moms car. Of course the dummy called my brother to throw it in his face, but my brother had already called the police and was standing right in front of an officer when she made the call. He just handed the phone to the cop and he heard everything. She had to pay for the damages but she was basicaly slapped on the risk by the “justice” system. Now let the situation had been reversed and the system would have THROWN my brother under the jail.
So while everyone is bashing Chris Brown, stop and think that NOT every domesically violent situation is one sided. And from where I’m sitting, Chris and Rihanna situations is FAR from one-sided.

This not a “Hate Campaign” against “Chris Brown.” Our gut instinct makes us dislike people who act outrageous and hit other people. It is normal behavior. There also abnormal responses on a number of sites full of dysfunctional people siding with Brown. I’m not surprised. People who grew up where violence was a common theme in broken households tend to respond this way. Chris Brown needs to man-up and stop going on all of these interviews, it has not changed a thing. Rihanna has gone on one interview and answered the questions. Chris Brown’s focus tends to circle around fan, money and career. How can he make this go away so that people will start forking out money to him again, is basically what is interviews are about. Rihanna struggled to stay compose and fought back most of her emotions to answer the Questions that we wanted Diane to ask her. I looked for tale-tale signs of lies and all of that. I found Rihanna to be truthful. Haters hate the truth. That’s why the bullies in the hood try to control the truth by telling people not to Snitch, or Squash it. The truth is very Powerful. Honestly I feel like its a hate campaign against Chris Brown and the funny thing is I’m not a fan of Chris Brown or Rihanna. I’ve never bought their music, although I have listended to their music on the radio and I enjoy many of their songs.
But I’ve witnessed my mom being abused where my dad was simply a bully and would beat her because someone paid to much attention to her at a holiday party AND I’ve witnessed my brothers being abused by girls they dated to the point where it brought them to violence. For example, 1 chick broke into my brothers car repeatedly and stole stuff. We knew because she would call him and throw it in his face. One time she broke into his car and not only stole things, she vandalized his car and our moms car. Of course the dummy called my brother to throw it in his face, but my brother had already called the police and was standing right in front of an officer when she made the call. He just handed the phone to the cop and he heard everything. She had to pay for the damages but she was basicaly slapped on the risk by the “justice” system. Now let the situation had been reversed and the system would have THROWN my brother under the jail.
So while everyone is bashing Chris Brown, stop and think that NOT every domesically violent situation is one sided. And from where I’m sitting, Chris and Rihanna situations is FAR fro
