This comment is from a mother who has a son who has experienced domestic violence. For months, he suffered in silence for men are suppose to be the strength in the family and far too often, people don’t want to believe that women can be abusers.

On the last occassion he actually went to jail because when the police arrived they would not accept that SHE was abusing him and because SHE had a couple of marks on her arms where he was trying to hold her back to prevent her from hitting him. After seeing his face it was nothing but his maturity that kept him from killing her.

Now mind you, he had plenty of marks showing that he had been injured (an open cut on his forehead where she had thrown a phone and struck him, a busted lip from her swinging at him, a bloody nose and tons of scatches) but of course – society dictates that it MUST be the man at fault – never the woman.

However a WISE JUDGE asked my son (after seeing the pictures of his injuries vs hers) was he being abused and he fessed up. This same WISE JUDGE decided to ask their children what had happened and they told him that mommy always hit daddy, or throw things at daddy and that on this occassion (they were also trying to get him for child endangerment because he ‘fell’ with his youngest child in hand) that mommy pushed daddy down.

So although Chris had NO RIGHT to hit Rhianna, I am not so quick to believe that she was completely innocent. I’d love to see Chris’ mugshot! – Wonder why it was NEVER released!

Since they have both given their interviews I hope that they can officially began to start to move on. Here’s a thought about all those crying forgiveness: Release all the people all of death row and out of prison and say you are FORGIVEN. Give me a break the world is not GOD. Judgement day is not here or when we die. We would be a lawless country if we did not hold people accountable for their actions. Chris Brown took the easy way out pled guilty. Otherwise, the evidence alone would have had him doing serious time. Rihianna may not have wanted to testify, but she was forced to once they subpoena her to court. It is time for both of them to move on. Rihanna will still be on covers of prominent magazine displaying her talent, unique style and beauty. She will still do well on the charts and continue selling records and concert tickets. Chris has already landed on the cover of Vibe Magazine: Whatever that means. He has new songs being released and the rest is up to the public. I think it was all much too fast for Chris with his way of thinking: all I want to do is make records. That’s not enough. It is easy to quickly do public service; write a check to a cause. He needed to take some serious time off and out of the public eye to work on himself and not hide behind a pastor who probably doesn’t have the credential of a psychologist/psychiatrist. Then, the public would have been more forgiving. With him propelling forward as to hurry up and get this thing behind me so that I can get back to making money to also support those around me is a sure recipe for failure. Keep going, it’s what you wanted, but remember who has the power to pay for you to play. It’s their perception you should have been working on. The money-grubbers around you should have told you the truth…and helped a Brotha out!

@LIVEANDLEARN- I’m neutral on the situation, but your argument on “releasing” all those on deathrow fell flat, b/c many of those on death row are on death row, b/c they killed someone or families, mass murders, child murders etc. It is a huge difference in releasing a murderer from death row versus giving someone like CB a chance to be a better person from one incident. I do agree that everyone is suppose to be held accountable for his or her actions, very true indeed. Now, correct me if I am wrong, but I could have sworn CB did take responsibility for his actions, by pleading guilty if he didn’t I’m sure he would have plead not guilty and faught it out in court. Even in the statement I believed he released yesterday he reinterated again that he takes “full” responsibility for his actions, therefore what more do you want from him? The same agrument regarding CB coming out and doing many interviews so that he can make some money is being said about Rhianna since she came out right when she is about to drop an album. I continue to be pretty neutral, b/c they are both young and it is just a difficult situation all around. Well, society has double standards about many things, and hitting women is one of em!! my thing is this: Men should never hit a woman unless she is trying to kill you; and even then, It is best to just leave her alone and get the hell away from her…If it get to the point where I figure I need to kick off in some girl’s ass, then it’s time to end things..Same thing goes for women, If you feel that you need to hit a guy, don’t get upset when he doesn’t call you or leaves you alone…Sometimes you have to be able to recognize a bad situation before it happens and avoid it….

Laws are invented in this nation to keep order. If Chris is truly repentful, he wouldn’t “Resent” a one-hour interview from Rihinna, (but broken up into 3 segments by ABC for their ratings). I’m sure that Rihanna completed that interview in 1 hour. It is not that long when we look at it in totality. I’m hearing this should have been just between me and Rihanna, etc. Well the public is pays law enforcement and the D.A. as well as buy his fork out money for CDs, Concerts, etc. Therefore, we have a right to know what kind of image we are buying into with our money, etc. Forgiveness is one thing. A number of people in prison have been forgiven by victims families so that they can move on, but that doesn’t mean the perpetrator is not going to be set free. Why? Because he or she has to be held accountable. Accountability or punishment in this case has to do with $$$. No one is stopping Chris from getting in the studio, or up on stage. There’s an audience for all types of entertainers. This is no difference than when those in my life stop purchasing the CDs of Whitney that supported her drug-induced lifestyle. Life is about choices. I’m sick of this Rhianna & Chris Saga already. Let’s get on with it. It is what it is. An interview alone did not change my perception. Everyone in my office space, friends, and family alike were appalled and sickened by the pictures and what he heard from the leaks and witnesses. It was good to see that Rihanna is working thru this.
