I miss the 80s and 90s music in general from Stacy Lattisaw “Let Me Be Your Angel”, The Whispers,Shalamarr(sp) Cameo to Mint Condition, Jade, En Vogue, Shy, Zhane,Silk and just many others. The only ones I continue to feel or would pay money to see his Jazmine Sullivan, Musiq Soulchild, Floetry–>if they got back together, India Arie and Jill Scott.
I remember one of the very first concert I went to when I was 16 was w/the OJays and Ronald Isely when he was maried to Angela Winbush which reminds me of Regina Bell and Phylis Hyman (RIP). Great music of substance back then.
Alex, even though you look a mess, I still love ya, baby. You are the last dying breeds of true, talented singers. I still rock to his music to this day.

I saw him in a celeb show here in the UK.I think he lives in London and does Gigs now and then. He is married to a chubby white lady.
I do not think he is on drugs.He is just old and happy with his life. Dont need the bling to be happy ppl. His voice is still good. I think he has problems with either his kness or his hips. He is just old and maybe you got him on a bad day we have a killer flu in London. I was looking like him 2wks ago…now I am feeling much better

This is really sad, while I like to read current socia events on these websites, somtimes you people go too far, have some damn sympathy for this man, his glory days was awhile ago and he’s fallen on some hard times and you post his pic on here looking so sad. Have some sympathy.
It was well known in the industry that he & Cherelle were both heavily into drugs. Cherelle was one of Whitney’s get high buddies for years. Cherelle was always more of a functioning addict while Alex strung out.
Damn I was just listening to his CD two days ago. That jam (What is this thing called love) is still thumping. I saw him live in Phoenix AZ years ago and he was traveling with a Rolls Royce on a flat bed. Dude put on a good show though. Broke as all hell right now though. He should do a reunion show with all of the other entertainers who blew their money on drugs and glam.
