At the end of the day,she may not know how to comb that babies hair but obviously somebody in her camp does. People have such a damn problem with whites adopting black kids but where are the black families willing to do so. Be glad that people want to love these kids no matter the hair type.

Thats just my point you are so into giving the love to unfortunate African kids but you cant take the time to learn the skill of combing the girls hair and bonding with her! She is called a mother to the kid by the white fokks but thats mother and daughter bonding time (hair combing( but she has to hire black nannies to do it!! She is a loser in my book, everything is for show! even talking about her bond with Michael Jackson and i read where he cpuldnt stand her behind!!

There are black folks who adopt black kids,, what the hell you talking about..of course they will give the kid to Madonna because of her money dumb *****… Do you know how much it cost to adopt a kid from Africa.. its not free and easy!! Plus where are the rich white folks like madonna adopting poor white kids from michigan where she from… she is a Angelina copy cat and just wants more attention than angelina!

I am glad that these little children have been adopted, however I still do not understand why many celebrities do not adopt African American children here in the United States. I do not necessarily think that just because one is loaded w/money equals that he or she will be a great parent, but Madonna seems to genuinely care for her children.

As far as little Mercys hair it appears to be in twist or perhaps the growing of dreadlocks.

I’m white and it drives me CRAZY when white mother adopt black children and don’t bother to learn how to take care of their hair. It’s simply being a good mother. It’s not difficult to learn if you take the time and step out of your comfort zone and ask for help!

C’mon, I’m the most laxed when it comes to Afro American hairstyles and love me some naturally nappy looking do’s……..but this is ridiculous.

She needs to hire someone who knows how to nourish and stimulate hair of African origins.

The Africans themselves are not the ones to go to for haircare.

The kids are indeed adorable…. but that whole “pic-a-ninny chic” she got going for lil mama is NOT CUTE !!!! “THEY” never take the fact that “THEY” don’t know how to do “OUR” hair into consideration when then adopt one of “OUR” children… Look at Angelina/Brad—lil Zahara’s head…. she looks a mess EVERYTIME her pic is taken— they think it’s cute !!! i am sick of these people talking about black women who dont comb their kids hair11 Where the hell are you living under a damn bridge because i even knoe a crackhead in the hood that her family has her daughter and this woman comed over every morning to comb her daughters hair and it looks good. Every black woman i know takes time to comb and braid and out twists and bows in their daughters hair, maybe im not living under a brdige but the black women i know take pride in combing all the different styles in their girls hair and most young black girls can braid, so i dont believe that crap~!

The girl’s hair is obviously done quite often, whether it’s twists, or cornrows, the point is she is taken care of. And who is this person getting up on those kids’ faces? How are the kids supposed to look happy when grown men yelling at them and flashing a camera in their faces? The woman holding her hand is black, Madonna obviously informed herself and has people around her that are in the know. I don’t understand why people are complaining. And who says that Madonna hasn’t bonded with her? From the pictures I’ve seen of Mercy and her together, Mercy looks happy with her and comfortable. And who cares if the mother is white? As long as the child is taken care of and taught about her culture. They often go to Malawi, so I don’t see the problem. Now for those asking why she didn’t adopt from the US- does it really matter where the child is from as long as child is no longer living in poverty and facing the possibly of death (in Malawi the life expectancy is only now 37). In the US, biological parents can change their mind after kids are adopted and you know that would happen to someone as famous as Madonna. Plus there are age limits and those are usually around 45 years old. Just so some of you know, Angelina is not the first nor last to adopt. Steven Spielberg did it before her, so did Mia Farrow, Josephine Baker, and many, many others. Broaden your horizons.

Why is there always criticism about combing a black child’s hair? Madonna is providing things much more important than a hairstyle…food, shelter, clothing and get this, on a consistent basis! Heck, some black moms aren’t good with hair styling either. Merci’s hair probably wouldn’t look much better if I had to do it either.
