What in the Hell: Neo-Nazi Rally Rattles Arizona and Minnesota

Neo-Nazi groups have greatly grown in number since the 9/11 attacks. Those that have abandoned the cowardice and bigotry associated with the hood and emblazoned cross are now taking to the internet. They are donning suits, ties, and the occasional swastika tee-shirt on weekends, whenever the need arises for them to spread their own special brand of hatred. The same unique group of “special” Americans met in Arizona and Minnesota to protest America’s weak immigration laws and the influx of undocumented illegal aliens that now call the United States of America home.
Members of the Nationalist Socialist Movement watched in awe as there peaceful hatred induced protest was met with more anti-protestors than they had members. Jeff Schoep of Arizona’s NSM encountered a similar situation during his protest in Arizona.

We are all entitled to our own opinions, no matter how idiotic the next person feels about them. They have the right to exist and live by their philosophy. This isn’t surprising. The Southern Poverty Law Center released a study earlier this year showing a 54 percent hike in hate groups in the U.S. since 2000, splcenter.org/news/item.jsp?aid=366. I believe the FBI also recently reported an increase in activities among white supremacist groups and the like.
With no tangible end to the recession in sight (10.2 percent unemployment rate — 15.7 percent unemployment for blacks (Bob Herbert has a good column today at nytimes.com), I think public displays of bigotry will continue to grow. I believe I read that threats recorded against President Obama have reached unprecedented levels (the overseas press is covering this more closely than the MSM, I think).
These are hard times, indeed.

Yes, we do. And you have incendiary individuals such as Glenn Beck and Limbaugh stoking the flames of discord and incorporating thinly veiled racism. I think a powder keg situation is developing. I read an article earlier this year about the reemergence of the Klan — I think there have been recent marches within the past year. Let me see if I can locate that article; it shocked me.

Every since prior to the election, they have been practicing their techniques to put together group protests. You can see how the same people who were at the Republican rallies have folded into these Tea Party folks. In the mean time these other splinter groups have been slowly aligning themselves. They are aware that we are severly divided as a group and their aim is to capitalize on that divisiveness.

One of those groups had a protest in my city about 10 years ago. The police protected the racists and held the protestors back. Of course the racists had to get to their cars after the rally so some of the protestors beat a bunch of the racists up. They haven’t been back.

I told them that man refuses to talk to me and looks right through me when I walk in the halls. I was happy the day he left.
