It’s everyone’s favorite couple again. C Breezy and Rih-Rih are fixing to do a duet:
Rihanna is planning a duet with her singer boyfriend Chris Brown. The pair has been dating since earlier this year (08) – a romance they have yet to discuss in public, despite being spotted vacationing together and kissing and cuddling in a Miami, Florida fast food restaurant earlier this month.
Now friends say the R&B duo are planning to record a track together – with some help from 20-year-old Rihanna’s mentor Jay-Z. A source [says] ‘Rihanna is impressed with Chris’ voice. It was a natural step for her to say, “Let’s do a duet.” She’s asking Jay-Z to look around for a beat for the two of them, something sexy and snazzy.’”
This comes as no shock. It seems that in showbiz, business is personal. We’re curious to see how this one turns out – but we’re not setting the bar too high for these two.

This is pure fiction. Hollywood is weaving a fairytale right before our eyes in the hopes that we want to live vicariously through Chris and Rihanna, enough that we’d spend our money and buy their records. It’s not enough to just sing well, dance well and put on good shows. Nowadays (maybe always?) in order to sell records, you have to pretend to be in a celebrity relationship, pretend to be heterosexual, pretend to be the American Dream, pretend to know how to sing, pretend, pretend, pretend.

And to wtf?: Chris is not a lip syncer. I’ve been to 3 of his shows, one I actually was on the roster, and he sings very well live. He may lip sync on occasion because he is a dancer and for the visual effect he wants his show to be tight, but he can sing.
