I heard about the attack, some famous trained chimp did this. I had no idea the damage was this extensive, even one hand and most of her fingers on the other are gone. She survived but what a way to live, hope the doctors find a way to improve her situation.

These are wild animals, not domesticated for zillion of years, and are unpredicitable even if they have known and been trained by their caregivers from birth (Sigfried and Roy/tiger attack and a chimp that killed one and severely mauled his previous owners in CA).

Based upon the news stories published at the time, the neighbor interacted frequently with the chimp plus the owner allowed the chimp to sleep with her (who knows if the neighbor allowed that too). I often wonder if some bestiality was going on and the chimp wanted some pu-na-ny and went off when the human(s) did not cooperate. Humans do have sex with animals/pets and things sometimes go awry so don’t act shocked.

That is a sin and a shame.. white folks always messing with wild animals, they call black folks gorillas and all but everytime you turn they got a monkey or kissing on a babboon or a ape, leave those animals alone they dont want to be domesticated thats why God made them the way they are. So sad and they say this crazy white heifer was sleeping with that gorilla and he was brushing her hair.. what a damn fool~!!

I am as opposed to mistreatment of animals as anybody — but they are EFFIN’ animals — not my child, not my niece or nephew, an EFFIN’ animal.

I also will not allow animals who have a history of aggressiveness IN MY HOUSE — I don’t give a f–k how “friendly” your pit bull is — don’t bring that f—ing animal around my house — PERIOD. I just finished watching the interview on TV. What a tragedy, but I agree with another poster, people need to stop trying to domesticate animals that belong in the wild. Sad to say but it might be a good thing that she is unable to see.

There was a poster on here who said the injured woman (Charla Nash) was probably having sex with the animal, etc. First, you should have watched the interview…Ms. Nash was an employee of the chimp’s owner and was periodically called to the house to feed the animal if the owner was not home in time. Ms. Nash expressed her fear of the animal and didn’t like going to the house. Also, the owner gave the animal a gl***** of wine and the mood-enhancing drug, Xanax to calm him down because he was acting anxious. When the Ms. Nash was asked to go over to the house to feed the chimp, he attacked her. For those of you who are saying this is G-d’s will, you should be ashamed of yourselves. I don’t believe G-d would intentionally want to see one of his children harmed in such a way.

This is the thing about Oprah that kills me. She will have on her show these people with missing faces, having been mauled by chimps or shot off by a jealous boyfriend – one Black lady showed the audience her scars from an attacker who tried to disembowel her. She had scars upon scars that cobwebbed her body – and THEN Oprah will talk some yang about, “O, I had to get out of that movie theatre because the theme was just TOO dark for me. I FELT that. I just couldn’t take it any more.” I have trouble looking at some of these domestic violence victims she’s had on and I’m a huge horror movie buff. I know it’s not the point right now but I had to vent a little. Oprah and her hypocritical marketing strategies. SMH.

Mulatto Mom – the other poster may have gotten it twisted a little, but I recall when the story first broke the chimps OWNER coddled it, dressed it in kiddie clothes, let the chimp sleep with her, fed it at the table with her like it was her child or a boyfriend, was widowed and doted on the chimp like it was her man.

You are also correct about the Xanax, apparently the owner gave it Xanax on different occasions, not just that day. Anyway, there was actually lots of media speculation at the time that the chimp had a childs mentality but perceived himself as if the owner was his MATE because of how he was treated. So while it does sound silly to make comments about the employee (Ms. Nash) entertaining bestiality, the owner (due to the owners behavior) was subject to a lot of media speculation about her “relationship” with the chimp…is it possible the poster was recalling the media insinuations about the owner? Respectfully…

@ Girl440 – I heard similar stories about the owner and the chimp. There have been many studies about animals “imprinting” with humans; beginning to see the human as their mate and behaving very jealously when an outsider (another human) intervenes in the relationship.

The owner allowed the chimp to sleep in her bed (who knows if more went on), drank wine with her and allowed the chimp to “groom” her. All of these things might lead an animal to believe that the human belongs to him. Take in to consideration that the adult male chimp was too strong to be managed by the women and you have a recipe for disaster—both for the people and the animal.

He never should have become a pet. He’s a wild animal. She never should have asked her employee to help her. The animal would have been better off in a proper setting (nature or controlled environment) with professional animal handlers.

This is too tragic!

@girl440 – yes you are right. The OWNER did coddle and dress the chimp, she thought of him like he was her child. She also slept with him. I can’t speak for the poster and I sincerely hope he/she was not insinuating that about Ms. Nash. However, I do realize that when Bossip posts a story they do not include pertinent information and many readers can misconstrue a story. I hope that Ms. Nash will receive all monies due her and that owners of “exotic” animals take heed and leave these types of animals where they belong…in the wild.

My opinion is that some people tend to put to much trust in these Animals rather they’re wild or not they are animals that should be treated as they are!! Me personally found it quite odd the she lost a child only to replace her love one with a chimp what a memory! She Claimed That She Treated that Chimp as if it was her child. she said during the interview that when the chimp was much younger and smaller (he weighed 200lbs at the time of this most recent atttack), that he had jumped out of a tree onto her back and *****ed out a huge plug of her hair. when that happened, the owner laughed.

1. I never stated that Ms Nash was probably having sex with the animal, I simply speculated if that behavior had occurred :

2. In my professional career I have had cases whereby bestiality had been practiced with subsequent repercussions from the criminal justice system. Who knows, the prin*****ls and authorities may not disclose everything to the public.
3. No way would I nor do I insinuate that the victim deserved what happened to her.

One of my friends and I drove up to get some eats and some little girl was in front of us, I thought she was holding a doll, but it ended up being (I think), a spider monkey, I’m guessing the light of the truck scared it, because it went ballistic on her, we turned off the head lights and engine, the creature eventually clam down, but not before scratching the dooky out of that girl; She was alright. That was her pet, that thing had pampers on.

What this has to do with this story? Nothing really, but that chimp was hating.

THANK YOU GIRL!!!!! You are 100% ON POINT!!!! It’s very hard for me to feel sorry for her or the owner of the chimp because they HAD NO BUSINESS with the animal, sleeping with the animal and trying to treat it like a human being! He’s a WILD ANIMAL – they all eventually turn on you and SNAP!

My husband and I truly believe they were having sex with this monkey and using it as a sex slave because why else would it freak out like that? And the owner was giving him anti depressants too? Come on now!!!

Girl, that’s a stretch of the imagination LOL.
I know stuff like that does happen but I don’t think that’s what happened in this case.

I think it was an IDIOTIC decision to keep a f*cking wild animal (which is also STRONGER THAN A HUMAN) as a pet and anyone that interacted with the animal like it was something normal needs to be kicked in the crotch- HARD.

Very sad for this woman and she is hands down one of the most courageous people in the world. May the gods bless her and her family.
