Gang Rape Attacker Released And Says “I Was Only Trying To Help,” Yet He Abides By Stupid Snitching Code

Good Samaritan, Salvador Rodriguez(l), has been released and his charges have been dropped in the Richmond High gang rape case. Salvador was actually trying to help the victim, but didn’t tell the truth because “snitching is something you don’t do”:
An East Bay witness arrested, then released for lack of evidence, in the gang rape of a 15-year-old girl outside her high school homecoming dance last month, said he didn’t report the attack because “snitching is something you don’t do.” Salvador Rodriquez, 21, said he watched as attackers kicked the victim in the head. “They were…
…beating her up, robbing her and ripping her clothes off. It’s something you can’t get out your mind. I saw some pretty crazy stuff,” he added. Rodriquez approached the victim after the attack at Richmond High School to cover her with his T-shirt, he said.
“She was naked and I reached for her. She started screaming, and I said, ‘Hey, I just want to help.’” Another witness told KGO that he watched the attack for 20 minutes and didn’t call police because he didn’t have a cell phone. “I don’t feel like I have any responsibility for anything that happened,” he said. Police believe the girl was attacked by as many as 10 young males while others watched.
The snitching code is faltered and ignorant. This kid just displayed evidence of that.

This painted a terrible picture of that night’s events. The fact that he watched for 20 minutes and did not report this atrocity to the police simply because he didn’t want to “snitch” makes me tremble with fury. 2. to not know what to do in an emergency (even adults mistakenly don’t seek help immediately from time to time)
3. to not want to challenge other drunken teenagers

I want to tell a story: There was a young high school senior who did only what was required of him. Went to school, got good grades, and even managed to become validictorian of his cl*****. Unfortuanately this young man had a sister who was not as ambitious and hanged around less reputible individuals. This young woman commits a crime with these people and in exchange for a lighter sentence testifies against her *****ociates or “snitches”. The *****ociates unable to reach the sister, probably due to the fact she was in police custody, threaten violence on her family. So what do the police do? Do they offer this young man who did only the right thing his whole life some kind of protection? Do they make a statement that says citizens don’t need be afraid to speak against criminals because law enforcement WILL protect them? No, they don’t. They simply allow it to happen. And this Young man could not even attend his own graduation because the school was fearful of violence. So tell me why would anyone want to help ivestigators with any case when they are unwilling to help you afterwards?

Please don’t put it on the rappers. The only ones that will change the way it is are the people who are sworn to serve and protect. But for whatever reason protecting someone who was trying to make sure justice is served isn’t high on their list of priorities. Girl, you’re right. I don’t understand — No matter how you feel about women, this is not the time nor place to make light of the destruction of a young girl’s life. She may never recover from what she experienced. She may be alive physically, but mentally, she has a very, very long road ahead of her. I watched a video the other week of the prosecutor, and despite her years of experience of working with sexual *****ault cases, she was visibly shaken. I cannot imagine what this young girl and her family are going through.

They were out there checking in on some things and my Mom was telling me how this man in his late 70’s was going in on a young boy who was sellin you know in the hood. She said the older man was relentless letting that young man know we are sick of you pull your pants up get off the corner and do something! My mom said he followed and followed the young boy. Luckily the young man didnt retaliate. But hey people are fed up!

This is a lifestyle issue, not a racial one. The victim nor the majority of the perpetrators (all but one) were black. This is about a gang mentality and this area is major, major (latino) gang territory and there will be retaliation against people who talked to the police.
However, that does not justify standing there watching! That is depraved. They should’ve left the scene and called the police. You don’t need a cell to dial 911 and there is a pay phone a block away.

The quickest and easiest way to get a rise is to be callous/harsh/unsympathetic to a situation that clearly calls for it. I see this manuever repeated over and over here on Bossip. I live in California, and yes the Bay area (especially Richmond) does take “snitching” serious. Meaning people do have the tendency to cause harm to the person who reported the crime or there loved ones. But in no way shape or form is it acceptable to watch a young girl or woman for that matter be beat, robbed, and raped for over 2 1/2 hours. It saddens me that there are people out there who would watch something like this and not attempt to help. I’m a GOD fearing woman so maybe that’s why I don’t understand or agree with a person who say’s that “snitching” could get “you” killed or your loved ones killed. I’m a child of God he will always have my back as well as my loved ones so if I witness a murder, a man/woman being raped, a child being molested, etc. I’m going to report the crime with no hesitation, further more if I’m called to testify I will do so. I wouldn’t be worried about my life or my loved ones lives, for what? If someone takes my life then that means God is ready for me to come home. How can one live with them selves knowing they could have prevented someone from getting, raped, or killed and did nothing?

There is no excuse for rape. I think anyone that forces someone into a sexuall act to all means needs to be prosicuted to the fullest. On the other hand young woman need to be more aware of the situations that they put themselves into. If you put yourself in certain situations then most times a negative outcome is what comes from it. A lot of times young ladies will go amoungst a group of guys for the attention not realizing that they are putting themselve in a postion to be treated in a unrespectable manner. And that still dont make it right for someone to violate another person. Just be smart with the choices you make and the company you keep.
@To CITIBOI…people not snitching is obviously a matter people will differ on forever…if it was someone in my family and strangers watched i can understand why they wouldn’t get involved but if its my family im down to ride for them no matter what happens…if they get in trouble for watching , well they shouldn’t have watched….so if an anonymous tip is given on a crime like this..the police will eventually try to find the person who tipped for testimony asking questions and stuff like that…people just dont F with the police..if i called they might say i was involved…sounds crazy but alot of innocent people are in jail…and in 2010 people still are afraid of the police…4show lol… i dont have dat j. cochran scrila ($) yet..my record is clean but i feel they just waiting to through me behind bars…because im legit.
