F*ck A Thug: Three Tennessee Football Players Popped In A “Prius” After Attempting A Robbery

One-Time is saying these three football players from the University of Tennessee were ‘hemmed-up’ by the police after they attempted a robbery outside a local store:

Safety Janzen Jackson and receiver Nu’Keese Richardson, two of coach Lane Kiffin’s most prized signees from his first recruiting class, were among three Tennessee football players arrested early Thursday morning in Knoxville on charges of attempted armed robbery.

The third player arrested is also a freshman, defensive back Mike Edwards. It was not immediately clear if the players have attorneys. According to a Knoxville City Police report, the arrests stemmed from an attempted robbery outside a convenience store near campus. A powered pellet gun was recovered in the players’ car after they were stopped by police near the Gibbs Hall dormitory on campus, where the Vols’ freshman football players lived shortly after the robbery attempt.

At least one of the players arrested was wearing some type of Tennessee gear during the attempted robbery, according to police. A fourth suspect, a woman alleged to have been driving a car with the three players as passengers, was also arrested.

Police said when they pulled over the Prius, they found a black air-powered pellet gun and a pair of hooded sweatshirts. Police also said they found a marijuana grinder, which the driver, Marie Montmarquet, said belonged to her, and a baggie containing what appeared to be marijuana in Montmarquet’s jacket.

Not even a stellar education and playing opportunity at the highest level will detour some people from their destiny of thugging it out till they die. SMH

Janzen is fine! But we don’t know the full story. Robbery could mean they were trying to get something they felt they owned back. It doesn’t have to have been related to the store. Notice it said “outside a convenience store” not “of a convenience store”. They may have ran into somebody they felt owed them something. I wouldn’t be surprised if this gets dropped. If Marijuana/ drugs were involved (stolen) rather than attempted (because obviously the victim is not going to say they “stole my weed”; they’re going to say “they tried to steal my car”) then I doubt the victim is going to want to testify in such a high profile case in which reporters WILL be snooping around trying to blame the victim as much as possible.

Yeah they should just hit up boosters like every other college athlete does, as far as getting charges dropped this is tennessee smh. Only way charges get dismissed is if their value is high enough to the program that their boosters for the university make a effort. Given the ranking of their incoming cl***** and the previous problems of this university they can be easily written off.

Sides they tried to rob someone outside of their school while their university athletic gear – plus they were other college students who to no surprise were not rolling in money. Not really way one can spin this for a “boys will be boys” case to dismiss the felonies involved…
