I have a few questions:

1. Why did the father (who had sole custody of her for so many years) decide to give the mother custody after she recently found a job? I would think he would have waited at least a year and perhaps have given her supervised visitation of the child, not custody. He’s a dumbass for that.

2. The father of the child claimed that it the child was a result of a “one night stand”…Is that so? Then how was the mother able to locate him so quickly? I think that she was probably a prostitute and he was perhaps, one of her regulars.

3. Why is it that something seems “off” abiut the father? I have a feeling that he is shedding crocodile tears. However, i could be wrong.

In any case, they all need to burn in hell. This is a sad, sad world. I wish that little girl eternal peace.

for the father, i believe it was a one night stand but they knew eachother. they live in the same town i believe. why he gave this woman custody just like that for a whole month, only he can answer that because that is a lil side eye giving. but i bet he feels guilty and a guilt he will carry for the rest of his life. could he possibly have been in a new relationship and felt pressure?

either way, that man is going to get it in prison and that woman is going to get it in prison. there is a type of crime that is frowned upon even by the hardest criminals and thats anything done to a child. seeing that man with her on the hotel security camera picture is sick

there has been a very scary war on women and children in this country for a while now – and sadly its as if women, namely black women condone it! we are the only ones who manage to find fault in everyone but the man committing the crime especially if he is black or if its a black woman or child being victimized. I’ve heard of countless cases like this all over but I can’t understand why this one has got me so much more emotional. It could be that it wasn’t too far from where I live but I think the underlying reason is that picture of the man with the poor baby going into the hotel room is what cut me to the core.

It makes me want to hug my baby even harder.

The way I see it, the people like this that are handed a death sentence get it too easy. One IV with three drugs. The first allows them to go to sleep so they feel nothing afterward. The only time they MIGHT think of their crime is while they await their actual execution. Even then, some really horn themselves into thinking they are innocent and not about the crime(s) they committed to put them there in the first place.

That’s why I feel they should be allowed to suffer.

Has anyone ever been so bothered by something that they can’t even speak on it…? that’s how this story is affecting me, I have absolutely no words. I could cry for the rest of the day and it wouldn’t reflect the pain I feel for this poor innocent child…

I’ve been paying close attention to this case. On Wednesday, I actually had the thought that if whomever is doing unspeakable things to her–then for God to take her.

That’s even crazy I wished her death so she could be out of her misery. That may sound crazy and I feel horrible for feeling that way but I wanted that baby out of pain soooooooooooooo bad!!

girl, I promise you, today I feel the same way I felt a few years ago when this sick bytch from E. St. Louis murdered her pregnant friend and then took her other three kids and killed them, and put them in the washer and dryer. I was literally SICK. I remember my dad was so upset that he was driving and had to pull over, he was cursing and yelling and just outdone, I just sat on the phone and cried. I feel that same way today, it really hurts me beyond WORDS!

At least now that little angel no longer has to suffer the unspeakable horrors that thing was putting her through…How could you do this to such an innocent, precious baby…Im just overwhelmed with emotion @ the thought of what they did to her…Just too horrible to imagine…RIP Shaniya…

My heart aches for this little girl, I find some peace that God will take care of this baby girl and God will mete out justice to this childs mother (and I use this term usely)and to the killer. I have two kids and I would lose my mind if anything like that happened to my kids.

Yes the justice system will take care of them, but their greater punishment will come from God.

I don’t think a story every broke my heart like this one. I have a one year daughter and have been staring and kissing her all day after seeing this. I couldn’t imagine how a mother can do something like this. PURE EVIL! When I seen her in the hands of that man, I just cried. She was an innocent beautiful little girl and my heart goes out to her father and family. I don’t wish bad on people, but I hope the WORST happens to both of them!! They deserve any and everything that happens to them.

My heart is so broken. I wanted her to be alive, so much. We all lost a child. I just cannot believe this. Shaniya’s memory will live on in our hearts. May the Lord be with Shaniya’s father and loved-ones.
