She is clearly unstable. If she’d done it right then, she could have at least blamed it on the heat of the moment and trying to protect her child. But, what she did took planing and forethought…she flat out stalked this child and killed him. Just nuts!

Also in the news, some doctor in Oklahoma City killed his 9-year old son yesterday morning and the mother got knifed up trying to protect her child. I’ve said this before, but it bears saying again. Everybody is not cut out to be a parent.

As a mother I understand the want to defend your child, but this is ridiculous. Her son is 16 years old, as was the child she mowed down. The lesson should have been learned that you don’t just start something over a young lady.

How can you defend your child by taking away someone else’s? She is clearly someone that needs psychiatric evaluation.

And now her children have to be haunted with this nonsense. SMH. What have we become?

Shaniya is a little 5-year old Black girl that was sold into prostitution by her mother and boyfriend. They found her body beside a road yeasterday afternoon. They’ve been following the story closely on cnn.

I saw this yesterday on CNN.com. Between this story and Shaniya’s murder, I had to say a prayer. The evil that some people exhibit is overwhelming.

BTW, I read on the Fayetteville Observer site that Shaniya’s father attended a memorial service last night, and he had to be physically carried away after he finished giving some short remarks. This is the kind of pain that would break the strongest person. I feel so, so sorry for him.

I traveled to Sandford yesterday morning to volunteer in the search. When news reached everyone that her body was found…..I cannot put into words what I felt.

I saw GROWN MEN break down.

I will NEVER forget this.

There were so many people there. People came from all across the country to help. Except on television, I didn’t see her father but, HUNDREDS of people helped in the search as well as hundreds being turned away.

I read about the hundreds of volunteers from all over the country. So many people wanted to help Shaniya. It hurts so much.

When this story first broke, I kept a close eye on it. I also felt “what can I do?” Then it occurred to me that I can help by volunteering. It wasn’t like I didn’t have the time!! I knew they were channeling the search not too far from here so I decided to volunteer. By the time I got there, they were turning people away. it was just too many. It made me feel good that others exhibited compassion and wanted to do something to help.

This is NOT a black/white thing. People of all races were there.

Shaniya’s father and aunt (who was really her mother figure, it seems) also appeared yesterday on CBS’Early Show, I believe, just hours before her body was found. They were both distraught.

@Butterscotch™… Say it again. I’ve been saying for years that we need to lobby for a law that states a male and female of legal age should have to apply for a license to have a child. If they can’t pass an in-depth psychological exam – no license. Why not? You need a license for everything else in this world. That would cut out a lot of this nonsense. I can’t even think about that little 5 year old without wanting to murder the crack-baby-turned-crack-head that gave birth to her.
