EXACTLY! I have actually had colleagues cry to me at some point about not getting called more by their married boyfriend, and I just look at them like they are crazy. “He has a wife/family and they are his priority. NOT YOU, sweetie! You are merely a convenience.” I say it nicely, but I have a hard time holding back when people do stupid things. I don’t know what women are thinking when they get involved in these dead-end relationships.

I revert back to shows like Oprah and Dr. Phil where they had couples that had been enaged for 3 or 5 years and some who got married within a month and one of the parties cheated. I also do think that people have unrealistic expectations when it comes to relationships, even I have been guilty of that. One of several things that I feel is not unrealistic is expecting your partner to not cheat on you. I don’t think one goes into a marriage or relationship expecting that person to cheat on them IMO, b/c if that is the case then you wouldn’t have crimes of passion or the cheated on party would not be deveastated.
