While I think this is a valid point, I think the reverse is also true. I think some (emphasis on “some”) black men feel validated by attention given to them by women of other races. This is a symptom of internalized racism and feelings of inadequacy and inferiority, IMO. Some of us do not feel we are valuable and worthy until we are recognized by others who do not share our skin tone.

Since I was in high school I had dated outside of my race off and on into college, but the ones that I had serious relationships with were brothas. Overall if there is a mutal attraction on both ends, a spiritual oneness etc then I am on board, regardless of race, though I do perfer a brotha I am still open and will not limit myself. Daywalker-I agree not all black men have children 99% of the black men I dated had no children, however if one did have a child it is no issue w/me as long as he is a great loving parent involved parent. But a man or woman that has children w/multiple people is a different story.

As a black man, law student, and full time worker,I
have to see that white men get more respect from our sisters.The great thing about attending law school (part-time) I get to encounter a lot white people and trust me sisters; the majority of the white dudes I know will only see you as a sexually dumping ground that’s it. They do however like slim black women sizes 2 to 4, so if you fit this MO than by all means go for yourself! By all means I want to come off as monolithic, like I believe all black women who prefer to date white man hate black man. But….LOL
Half of them do, some are color struck, a few of them gold diggers, and there’s small margin of them who are looking for a good man of any color.
