#3 – Add to the Mix The Spaniards that first colonized Trinity and Tavaco (Original names) — then the French, Dutch, British..

#4 — The majority of the population ressemble the dominant genes…African and East Indian. That Miss Trinidad is Chinese, African, East Indian and European.

Most people in Trinidad have family or are mixed within these groups. A lot of those East Indian people have African grandfathers and mothers.. But you will literally have to see the family tree to believe it!

Trindad is full of all Flavors. Trinidad is mostly East Indian Influenced, and Tobago is more so African Preserved. Indian, Chinese, and Portuguese Indentured Servants came to T&T after the African Slave Trade was Abolished. It was just as worst, except they were paid 5 Dollars, and 24 cents a day to be slaves, and had to work 3 years straight. No rights or anything.

So in Trinidad there really isn’t a specific race that defines a Trinidadian, or Tobagoian. More so everybody is mixed with everything. Just like a lot of other countries in the Caribbean. Like myself I’m Arubian (Dutch) Ethiopian, East Indian and American Indian ( which is like the Arawak’s )in the Caribbean which were there before Africans, Chinese or any other race where on the islands. At the end of the day its easier to call myself a Trini, and call that my country after my Great Grandmother settled there after movie from the Union Islands and St.Vincent.

There is you all’s history lesson for the day.

Yes yes… we trinis can admit that some of us bleach but those are Indians. They can’t help it. they have the caste system in thier head and they think that way. Trinidad and Tobago is filled with different ethnic groups…..blacks, indians, asians, chinese, spaniards, arawak and carib descendants….then there are the mixed races…..indians and blacks = what we call dougla….etc….not just blacks and indians….just so you know.
