*This Just In* Jayson Williams Cops A Plea And Is Headed To The Big House In Retrial Case For Covering Up The Killing Of Limo Driver

Jayson Williams tried to pull the race card in his retrial hearing for smoking his limo driver and trying to cover it up. He just reached a deal and is set to see Plaxico:

A person with knowledge of the case against retired NBA star Jayson Williams says the former player has agreed to a plea deal that would send him to prison for up to three years for shooting a driver. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the person is not authorized to speak about the case.

The person says Williams will plead guilty to aggravated assault on Friday and will have to serve at least 18 months in prison. The charge stems from the fatal shooting of a hired driver in 2002 in New Jersey. Jurors were deadlocked over a reckless manslaughter count in the first trial, but convicted Williams of covering up the shooting.

We knew this guy was as nutty as squirrel sh*t when we saw him on Cribs shooting guns and riding on tractors. SMH@ another black man down the drain.

This is the best the prosecution could do, I suspect jayson is just tired and worn down over this and wanted it too go away once and for all, 18months is actually a win for the defense, they kept having mistrials….

    @James

I don’t think anyone here even HINTED anything about rogue cops, etc, that commit crimes they never paid for. I think people are just struck by the fact that Mr. Williams killed a man, albeit by gross negligence, hid the crime, and will only have to serve a year and a half for it.

This is another case of karma coming and biting you in the a**. Just a week before this shooting he was a commentator on NBC dogging out players and talking about the players he couldn’t stand. When this happened not one player came to his defense. In fact they didn’t even discuss it in public. Now he’s lost his family and this case. That’s karma. For those of you who don’t believe in it, it’s real.

  • stephiedid

well I’m not 1st maybe one day. I think he should have been better handled by to folks that made him a star. Noe he is a starlight

Not necessarily true. I typed the word “dogged” and they edited it. Go figure.

  • http://charactercorner.blogspot.com/ Attorneymom

Wow. Prayers go out to his family.

  • drenk

see if he wouldve called 911 and paid off the family instead of tryin to make it look like an accidental suicide

  • Do Much

Trust and believe that Jayson is dealing with karma every moment of his life. The fact that in his head he has to recapture the moment of the man lying on the floor dying is enough to make a sane person go crazy. In court everytime the victims named is mentioned believe me the image that Jayson has of him is the last time he saw him. Yes he does desirve to pay for the crime he committed but to say that the man desirves the death senctence is taking it way overboard. America was built on lies and decet. Crooked cops and politicians kill everyday and cover up for there crimes, but they get away with it because they are the system, and the system is designed to break those out side the system down. I have witnessed so many police break laws that its hard to trust them because you dont know who is who. So many young black man have lost there life to the system.

As you are aware, My Jayson, Jayson Scott Williams is on trial for the accidental shooting of Mr. Costas Christofi. We are forever remorseful for the loss of life that occured in our home. Our sympathy deepens for the family and friends of Mr. Christofi and for every person’s life that has been affected by this accident. We are truly sorry for the unforseeable accident that occured on Feb. 14, 2002.

Many of you have been angered by the false allegations and misrepresentations levied against my husband – it angers me too. Yet I know that these lies, innuendoes and distortions shall be eradicated through our trial and I will allow our attorneys to appropriately do this.

However, the slanderous and inflammatory character assaults agains Jayson cannot be fully corrected by anyone other than me – his wife. Jayson is an amazing man, whom I love dearly. He is a great father, a caring son and a loyal friend. He is generous to a fault. His charitable works are too many to mention and many are only known by the people he has touched with his kindness. Jayson gives of his time, talent & resources because it makes him feel as good as the recipients. Jayson loves life, he loves people, he loves to laugh and sometimes he cries – but most importantly, Jayson loves God. He is a God-fearing man, and through our trials and tribulations walks closer to God than he ever has before. This is My Jayson Williams.
