How can black people remain so stupid? Arguing with the police/fighting with the police/resisting arrest, don’t they have the smarts enough to know you will never win, in fact you’re lucky if you don’t get a bullet for your trouble.
She was lucky, they offered her a plea deal.

Moms and dads need to tell their kids to shut up and be calm when dealing with the police, black or white police will equally tase/shoot you if you get them nervous, go argue with your lawyer later.

It is ridiculous she even had to go through this. I am a law student in Indiana in a majority white town (like 95% white), and they don’t want any color there. What happened to her could have easily happened to me. This is wack!!!

They offered the same plea deal three years ago. She decided not to take it. She’s the one who wanted to take this thing to court. I’m glad to hear she has to pay court costs.

The bottom line is this, if she would have had self-control the situation would not have gotten Out-of-control.

You may not have control over a situation or person. Yet if anything you do have control in how you react to it. That can determine how it will end.

We need to stop condoning bad behavior from all parties period!!!!

To “Who Else” …. The fact that this was a racially prejudiced community, makes this lady sound even less intelligent. If she was from there and knew the attitudes…. well she needed to modify her behavior, or least tone it down a bit. Case reversed…. I am white. I take a trip to Harlem, NY…… I jump line in front of the locals.. How long do you think I would have lasted pushing someone’s stuff from the counter? I can promise you – in Harlem — The police would have gotten there after the Coroner’s van, and I’d be heading for an autopsy.

When you visit Rome – you act as if you are in Rome. If you don’t like Rome – move to a place that suits your lifestyle better. The fact that she knew about the prejudice in this community, yet proceeded with a FU attitude… Well, it tells you all you need to know. She took a plea deal, because when the truth was out. She knew she had been revealed..

Heather Ellis didn’t barely escape anything. She plead guilty and accepted the exact same plea agreement she was offered before she decided to lie and deceive the black community.

Making inflammatory, untrue statements like the article above only serves to give real racists ammunition in the fight against equality. Instead of asking Heather to take responsibility, you are enabling her deception.

The next time something discriminatory happens for real, people will think of Heather Ellis and wonder if the next victim is lying too. Her actions, and the continued support of foolish folks like the staff at Bossip is going to make justice even harder to acheive in the future.

This reminds of an incident I witnessed a few years ago, while shopping at a Pavillion’s Market in the Hollywood area, where this “SISTA” rudely cut in a ten customer line with her ba$ket full of groceries. The lady, she Bogarted said “EXCUSE ME, BUT WHAT ARE YOU DOING?”…The “SISTA” ignored her, which (naturally) resulted in all H3ll breaking loose. When all was said and done, the “SISTA” was escorted out of the market by the Mgr, all the while screaming “RACISM”…N!gga B!+ches, you gotta’ love em’.

my family members from the south have even been recently to visit and told me about past and present racism there. i know my uncle drove somewhere and said ropes were hanging in a tree. BUT THIS IS NOT A CASE OF RACISM. she acted like a fool. she truly did. we cannot keep blaming others actions towards us just on our race if we are not acting right. she got whate she deserved. it is an embar*****ment to keep saying “its cause im black.” SOMETIMES it is but those truly racist cases scream racism and wrong doing. I know Heather Ellis personally, I attended her father’s church for almost 5 years. I have supported my girl in prayer & on my channel on youtube for a while now.

Like her father & countless others, I wanted the jury to find her COMPLETELY NOT GUILTY. So my feelings on the outcome of this case is best summed up in the words of her father:

Pastor Nataniel Ellis: “Of course I am not happy with the outcome. But when your back is against the wall, you do what you have to do.”

Amen & amen. It just had 2 black people in the jury afterall. At least her record will remain clean. Thank you Jesus!!

I know looks aren’t everything and can sometimes give a false impression, but she just had that look to her that didn’t seem like she would be a pleasant person. I understand the town is very racist where the KKK is clearly active (as seen on HLN on CNN) but in this case it appeared to not be racism, but merely where one lost self-control. I am actually offended that she use race (though 99% time race in many cases plays a huge part)when she knew good and well that she was in the wrong.

However, I believe the reason the only reason she has the chance to have a clean record after a year is because God had mercy on her and gave her grace. In addition, she had Civil Rights groups coming to her aid. I am a strong child of God and I also know that God does not like liars, but one who confesses to his or her sin and repents from the heart not with just the mouth. God loves us all through good and bad and I hope that she does not take advantage of Gods kindheartedness for making a way for her, by giving her another chance to do better and be better. I hope she takes heed as this is life lesson.

Good grief! “Lynching”? Heather Ellis’s case has been nothing but hype and bad manners from day one. Shame on you for insulting so many good people who did nothing to hurt her or anyone else. Hether could have stopped this by not throwing a fit, buy not fighting with officers, or by taking teh original deal offered. Instead, she turned a bunch of people who never had any ill will for her, for her family, for Kennett, or for much of anything else into justified bigots! All I know is SHE was acting plum ignorant ON CAMERA. I don’t know what all was going on but SHE was on camera acting a nut about nothing looks like to me. Yes, 15 years is absurd for this..period but what black folks dont seem to understand is that WHATEVER law we break, we will, more often than not, be charged to the maximum extent of the law. In other words, if we are caught jay walking and the law allows the death penalty, WE ALWAYS END UP the one looking at the death penalty. Other folks, might get the minimum. So, with that said, black folks need to stop going off at everything. If they did something wrong, then it should have been on that camera. We have got to think before going left. O, and Missouri is racist. I don’t know why any black folks live there.

I totally agree – she should never have been charged! Sure, she was arrogant, rude, engaged in physical altercations with customers, WalMart employees, and the police (who are obviously racist, since they are the police).

But it was outrageous to charge this strong sistah with a crime – she’s abviously innocent, and the victim of racist policies, because she’s BLACK!! People KEEP saying 15 years is too much for jumping in line. Do you even know what this is about??????? She wasn’t charged with jumping line. There is no law against it. She was charged with disorderly conduct. Verbal threat to a police officer, resisting arrest, and physical *****ault on two officers. 15 years was the maximum for all those charges together. The charges where appropriate. She plead guilty to all of them. Her sentence was extremely light based on the charges. Her attorney did an excellent job on the plea. The shame is, she had the opportunity to take the same plea two years ago. She said she wanted to get her story out. That’s funny….. If she had taken the plea deal back then, her sentence would have been served, and by now her record would have been EXPUNGED/aka removed from file. Getting her story out…. may very well have limited any acceptance into most medical schools.. Medical Schools typically don’t accept dummy’s. Just like running her mouth to the staff at Walmart, the customers, and the police. She ran her mouth to the country. She and the pro black organizations cost her city millions of dollars. Enjoy the anger management cl*****es sis. I’d love to get in your face and help you break your probation……. From your statements AFTER YOU PLED GUILTY, then blamed it on everyone else….. You haven’t learned a thing. What you need is some one on one time with one of the jail house girls that would love to make you their biaaaaatch.

You call that strong? She pleaded guilty. She confessed… get it? You approving of what she did is simply because of her color. That makes you the racist. We’re pretty tired of having our peaceful community slandered and libeled, especially by people who aren’t from here and haven’t ever been here!

Gosh – labeling a whole group of people based on stereotypes, hyperbole, and lies. Sounds kinda like racism, hunh?

This whole thing goes back to the moment heather Ellis decided to throw a fit. If she’d just stood in line LIKE EVERYONE ELSE IN WAL MART (black, white, or brown), then NONE of this would have happened. If the Bootheel is so bad, then why haven’t we seen a whole bunch of Heather Ellis cases? Where were the local people standing in solidarity with her?

Next time, maybe the SCLC and the KKK can fight it out in their own hometowns instead of coming to ours!
